Kokopelli Gardens

This was our first time with Hipcamp and very impressed. First off Tim & Victoria went out of their way to make sure everything was ok. It had sites set so you weren’t super close. They just opened Playa Tortuga Ultra Lounge a domed space to meet with the other campers to visit stay out of the heat or use a heater on cold night or a propane fire pit and visiting. They have several other things to do for activities. Our campsite had a propane grill, sink and running water, fire ring, table and chairs and a tub with extras if you forgot something. Nothing was left out and we didn’t even bring all our usual stuff for tent camping as they had it for us. Fun place to stay

Rustic Charm and Friendly Folks

Great little hideaway in the desert. It's like a little working orchard so there are more trees than in usual desert setting. It's rustic but that's part of the charm. Tim was a great host and answered any questions and concerns I had and was very patient in helping me park my camper! Shower house is odd but again also charming and it was clean and they have any bath items you could need to use. I loved having the fenced in area for my pup. It was mostly quiet. There was a bit of banging at night and loud arguments from someone I think lives there. Maybe they just had an off week? If I could change anything it would be the road in. It's only a mile long but you need to take a lot of caution getting there. The property itself is no problem to drive on. Overall... one of my better choices I would say and I would definitely stay again and recommend it!

We enjoyed camping at Tim and Victoria’s! They were extremely hospitable hosts. Their fresh peaches and apricots were yummy! We really appreciated all of the extras that made our stay smoother, from the well appointed bbq and camping supplies, to the out door sink and fresh well water. And the pool was perfect, as it was a hot weekend!

What a great place and night skies!

Tim and Victoria’s Hipcamp was a great experience for Junior and I. It was very clean and well appointed. They had many “extras” available around the site and the site itself had more than expected. Tim is very friends as he helps you to find your site when you arrive and is available to answer a questions about the camp, Tucson and surrounding area. We were visiting family and the drive into Tucson was easy and short. We’ll definitely stay here again the next time we come to the area.

Great Location, Wonderful Stay!

I loved my stay at the Saguaro campsite! Tim was the absolute best, he was exceedingly kind, made sure I had everything I needed and gave great recommendations for the area! I woke up every morning to a stunning sunrise and the sounds of the desert. I stayed for a month in my little camper with my two cats and we were so at peace. We had all the amenities we needed and I loved using the outdoor shower. The trees in the orchard were beginning to blossom which was lovely as well. It’s also great that the campsite is fenced off, if you have pets they can hang out safely in there and it keeps the night wildlife out. You couldn’t ask for a better spot, just outside the hustle and bustle of Tucson but close enough to everything. West Saguaro National Park is just 15 minutes away, as is Tucson Mountain Park, and you are no more than an hour away from most other hiking (Sabino Canyon, Saguaro East, Catalina, etc…). Dirt roads to get there were easily navigable as well, and Time was always very responsive if I needed anything. 10/10 recommend and plan to come back next winter!

Perfect spot for us!

If you are looking for a place to camp that feels like home, welcomed by great hosts Tim and Victoria, who felt like family, this is the place! Their campsite is nestled in a rural area, located on 7 acres of a Moringa tree farm that has beautiful landscaping. Quiet, calm, serene. The camp site itself was spacious, and had every amenity that you could think of for tent camping. Bathhouse with hot water was so appreciated. Our hosts were very helpful during our stay. They were very communicative which helped us to have a great experience, as it was our first time camping in Arizona. It won’t be our last. We highly recommend the Saguaro national park close by, Richie’s café at the local airport, and the Brisbee breakfast club nearby. Thank you for hosting!

We enjoyed the wildlife and birds. The stars were amazing since there wasn't any city light. Tim & Victoria are wonderful hosts. Very friendly and helpful. The campsite had everything we needed. The best part was the enclosed campsite. Our dogs loved being able to go in and out of the tent without a leash. I liked having the sink, electricity and waste bins right there in our site.

Large campsite with furniture. Table, chairs, lawn swing, sink and counter with running water. Fenced in so a dog can be leash free in camp (small dogs- big dogs could jump the low fence. Good hot shower cabin, port a potty close by. Short walk to flush toilet. Far out from the hustle and bustle of the city. I stayed here once before and hope to come again. Hosts are friendly and helpful…

I truly loved camping here. I appreciated the enclosure so my dog could wander and nothing was going to get through at night :) They also have an entire set up for you!! Counter, sink, and kitchen items you may need and an added bonus was electric and a heater!! Tim and Victoria were so kind and generous they offered so much more than they had to. I was even able to do laundry and hang dry my clothes AND take a HOT shower!! Come here. I highly recommend it!

We totally enjoyed another stay at Kokapeli Gardens. We have been very happy with our stay here. So many amenities. Our campsite was all decked out with table and many chairs and a convenient outdoor sink. Great water and electric hook ups and a hot shower and free laundry. Lots of birds, bunnies and ground squirrels. We have made friends here. Everyone has been so pleasant. Also close to downtown Tucson and Saguaro National Park. We have really enjoyed the big beautiful mountain view and the colorful sunrises and sunsets. As well as both adventurous and peaceful walks with our dog in this desert setting. We highly recommend camping here and we plan to come back next winter.

Great Desert Setting

We love camping here with our campervan. Tim & Victoria provide so many amenities like laundry, refrigerators, showers, household items and much more. Our campsite is decked out with table and chairs, umbrella, grills, lawn chairs and small table, clothesline, sink, hoses, shed, garbage can, recycling can and even a compost bucket! As well as FHU. Tim and Victoria are always available if you need anything. Great spot for our dog. Plenty of places to walk and explore with her. She really enjoys it here. She receives lots of TLC and enjoys her daily walks filled with new sights and smells. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and mountain views. Everyone here has been so interesting and friendly. Also a great bird watching spot. So many different birds to see and hear. Also, many things to do and see within 20 -30 minutes from here, like the Saguaro National Park and Desert Museum.

A Great Hip Camp

We loved our stay at Tim & Victoria’s Hip Camp. Everyone was incredibly friendly and Tim was kind enough to make sure we were comfortable. The communication was excellent. We had everything we needed at our site, including electricity, water, a kitchen sink, pots and pans for cooking, a single electric burner and a propane grill complete with its own burner. The stars were wonderful and we could see the Milky Way. We felt safe and at home. I highly recommend this Hip Camp.

This is the 1st time we used Hipcamp and we were very impressed. The communication before and during our time there was excellent. The views were incredible and the amenities were outstanding-full hookups for our trailer/washer/dryer/crystal clear swimming pool/clothes line/fire pit/grill/outdoor furniture/firewood/bath house. We were within an hour of many popular places. Highly recommend. And definitely enjoyed the 60’s vibe of the surrounding area.

Just Add Tent (that’s truly all!)

We selected this Hipcamp because the promise of a hot shower and readily available potable water was all we needed to be convinced after a few days backpacking in the Sonoran desert. So, when we arrived at this beautiful oasis, we hadn’t even read the entire description to know that we were in for the most incredible and thorough pampering one can receive in a tent! The outdoor shower, the pool, available laundry, the thoughtful camp setup, and ultimately Tim’s hospitality made the entire time we were there just wonderful. We also enjoyed learning about the space and seeing the wildlife! We cannot recommend this space enough.

This place is very quiet at night and the stars are amazing to see. This area is a bit darker due to observatory rules. But I must say, the stars are magnificent to see out here. Feel very safe and secure here with amenities that help make the day very comfortable!
