I had a great stay! Beautiful surroundings and right down the road from the national park. It was fairly quiet and private. The drive coming in was kind of tight because of the plants but it is the outdoors.
I will say that I read the site type wrong and had to back in alone for the first time, but it was great practice, with no audience like at a campground, and I was able to get it done.
Sunsets and sunrises are beautiful here, my camera roll is full of pictures. Plenty of space outside for working out on the property in the morning.
Perfect spot for my first time in Arizona. Can’t wait to go back!

Stayed at Site 1 at Desert Getaway in Avra Valley and loved it. My wife and I, plus our pup, really enjoyed the private, sizeable space. It’s very quiet at night with great stargazing. Location is spot on too - about 35 min to Tucson and 15 min to Saguaro National Park. Hookups were solid and easy to use. We’ll definitely be back!

FH campsite. We stayed at Site 1 for about 4days in August 2025. 50amp connection, you need to have an adapter if your camper is a 30amp or 20amp. We love the place, so peaceful. AC is a must when staying in summertime.

Very Rustic but with hookups

NOTE: Electricity hookup is 50 amp only. Make sure you bring an adapter if you’re 20 or 30 amp. Area is rural with a mix of site built and mobile homes, single wides. Older area and pretty quiet.
Our travel trailer is only 20 ft so for the most part we leave the dining area in “bed mode “. Host furnished a picnic table which was a great help. DOG OWNERS: please dispose of dog poop. Don’t leave it lying around for flies to breed in. We haven’t been disappointed dogs but always take care of our pooch poo.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The spot was private and peaceful, offering a nice sense of seclusion while still being conveniently close to a paved road—no rough dirt trails to get in or out. All the hookups worked perfectly, and the desert scenery was absolutely stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset.
The only minor downside was occasional noise from nearby trucks and planes, but it wasn't enough to take away from the overall experience. If you're looking for a quiet desert retreat with hookups, this is a great choice!

We loved this piece of land! The hookups were perfect. It is truly in the Sonoran desert. Saw lots of cool wildlife. Very private. Sunsets behind the mountains are spectacular! Thanks for sharing it with us.

We definitely enjoyed camping on Jeff's property. The site was well marked and very private. Quiet at night, and we enjoyed the star-filled skies. Very convenient to Saguaro National Park west entrance. Would definitely stay again!

Red Hill at Ironwood Site 2
I loved it here and wished I could have stayed longer. The road leading up the small hill to site 2 was a bit rougher than I expected, but it wasn't a problem getting up it at all with my Wrangler and small travel trailer (Rove Lite FLEV). I do have the off-road package on my trailer which makes it sit higher than most.
I read some complaints about the bumpy dirt road leading to the property, but as someone who grew up on and still lives on a dirt road, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't bad at all.
There was plenty of space to turn around at the site and get myself backed up into place. I loved feeling like I was in the desert while still having full hookups. My water hose was too short to reach my trailer, but thankfully there was a longer old hose laying there that I used to fill my tank as needed.
Every evening a small group of javalina would come through the site and walk directly next to the trailer. You could hear them passing by on both sides, some even walking across the pavers that serve as a little patio. Just sharing this as a warning to pet owners to not leave your pets unattended, especially in the evening and at night.
There is a path that runs along the back of the property that you can walk along. This path runs through the back of site 2, so don't be surprised if you see another HipCamper walking by or riding their bike through.

Sunsets were absolutely beautiful. Husband and I were looking to decompress from a hectic work week and this was a perfect place to do so. It is very peaceful with very little noise. All hookups worked perfectly and had no issues.

I enjoyed camping on Jeff's property. It was private and quiet.
It is just high enough to have a great view of the surroundings.
There is lots of hiking and biking opportunities right from the site - no need to drive. All the hookups worked fine. I hope to come back next year

I love the stay. It was beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Peaceful pretty much of time. Few trucks during the day otherwise it was quiet! I was a bit confused and got turned around on my way there. Due to roads changing. Very nice young lady stop and asked if we were lost. Yes! She was very kind and took us rite to our site. Thank you Jeff for your slice of paradise. We'll be back!

Hookups were nice, and the site felt secure with a locked gate to get in. It was quiet and the surrounding mountains/views were awesome. We arrived before dark which was helpful as the road isn’t perfectly smooth. But it wasn’t too difficult to get there and set up.

This was a beautiful campsite and we enjoyed our stay. The host was attentive and quickly addressed an issue with the electricity. The site has a locked gate and feels very private.

Great Stay! I needed a quiet place to re-org my van and had a busy work week where i needed open skies for zoom calls. Epic sunrise on my left and epic sunset on my right. Everyday was such amazing views. Everything worked as expected water, hookups, ect. You can see other houses around but definitely not on top of you and no one is driving right next to your site. I loved it! Would absolutely come back.

This was our second time staying here and it was just as great as the first stay. We’re temporarily unable to fully boondock and we need access to at least power. We love that this spot has the luxury of full hookups but it still has the privacy of boondocking. We’re hopping around the Tucson/Phoenix area for the winter and will definitely be back!
