I really enjoyed my experience camping here with my younger siblings! The property was massive, with beautiful views, incredible stargazing, creeks, and so much history to explore. The old mines were especially cool!
One of my favorite parts of the experience was Joni! She was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and available if we had any questions or needed anything. She even offered to give us a tour of the property. At one point, she heard us struggling to chop some wood and kindly brought us firewood. Such a thoughtful gesture!
A few things worth mentioning: The listing says there are bathrooms, but we ended up having to use one inside someone's house, which felt a little awkward. The road getting down to the campsite was also a bit intimidating, although Joni gave me plenty of reassurance and we made it in and out safely! The trails leading to the creeks and other water areas aren't clearly marked, so you'll have to do some exploring to find them. The mines were also a little scary to reach by vehicle, so I'd recommend walking if possible and safe to do so.
Overall, it was a beautiful campsite with plenty to explore and a really peaceful atmosphere. I appreciated how remote it felt while still having someone nearby who genuinely cared about our experience. Definitely a memorable camping trip!
