The name of these sprawling waters comes from song lyrics. Farmers and ranchers built the dam themselves. They sang "you be damned" if you build it and damned if you don't. Hence, Yuba.
Fish for rainbow trout, northern pike, walleye, and catfish year-round. Put your boat in to spend a day on the waters, or cast your line from the shore. Any of these fish land a tasty dinner at your campsite.
Swim in the warm waters at one of the designated beaches. Spread a blanket or towel to have a shore-side picnic lunch. After lunch, stretch your legs with a hike around the lake. Head into the surrounding hills on foot or pedaling your bike.
