My husband and I really enjoyed our camping experience on Emily’s land! It was so nice to hear the creek at night and wake up to a beautiful view of horses and mountains. We felt secluded and it was the perfect distance to avoid the Chimney Rock Village traffic.

Valley Meadow Campsite
This is a beautiful property that offers a unique primitive camping experience. While staying there, I felt the general security of your typical campground, but also a feeling of something more private and slightly more primitive. Emily was very responsive to my questions and messaging.
And, if you inquire about the swimmin’ hole with the falls you won’t be disappointed. I now consider myself a local (only with a Bat Cave souvenir t-shirt). Thanks again for the stay.

Great experience here. Emily was fantastic with the information. Camp area was by the stream so night was filled with the great relaxing sounds. The site was in a grassy wooded area, so remember to take precautions of ticks in certain seasons. Location was close enough but far enough away from the busy Lake Lure and Chimney Rock traffic. Looking forward to another visit here in the near future!!

Valley Meadow Campsite
We had a wonderful time on Emily's beautiful property, and Emily was a welcoming and gracious host! There are 2 primitive sites on opposite sides of the property, and we were camped in the upper/west area, a few short steps from Lower Flat Creek that was perfect for soaking to escape the June heat and also perfect for the kids to play. The site had a raised fire pit, a recycle bin and a spotlessly-clean port-a-jon that was a short walk (100-yds or so, which allowed for some privacy) complete with hand-sanitizer inside.
The property is a working equestrian ranch, so the kids enjoyed camping next to a large pen/paddock area that contained 4 beautiful horses, and the property also had ducks, geese, chickens, goats and friendly dogs nearby.
And as a working equestrian center, we were able to schedule a last-min beginners riding lesson for our 3 kids, and she was a great instructor! I will point out that since we had horses nearby, there were definitely more flies around during the day that were not bothersome but definitely present, although no flies down by the creek and they went away after dark.
All in all, a great experience and we will definitely be back! Thank you Emily for everything!

We loved camping out on this camping site, it was perfect! From seeing the valleys and mountains either day or night to the nice cool breeze coming from the creek this has to be one of the best sites we've been ever to. Me and my boyfriend are considering to come back one day whenever we can. We absolutely loved it 10/10.

I loved that the area was clean and as described, the bathroom was clean and didn't smell. This place totally gets 5 Stars!! I loved have the horses and goats nearby, I felt safe and secluded. It was awesome!!! Definitely hope to go back!

Was blown away about how ideal a campsite it was, beautiful rushing river on one side and some lively horses to our other side, with Mountain View’s to go along with it. Host was friendly and hospitable. Can’t recommend enough!

Emily's place was beautiful. It's nice to fall asleep to the running water and wake up to the view of the mountains and horses. There's cool places to explore very close to her property. I would love to stay here again. Thank you!!

I depend on reviews and the hosts description to pick our spots on Hipcamp, this was our tenth trip! I always leave a review because it’s important for others, and I feel this site’s description is a bit misleading. I understood this spot to be creekside, private, and on a horse farm. It was on a horse farm. There is a creek on this property, but there is no access to that creek without a chainsaw and mountain climbing equipment, at least none of the sites I saw. Also it appears to have multiple campsites in their pastures, they’ll find somewhere to put you. We reserved our spot weeks in advance, but when we got there, there was no prepared site for us. Never spoke or met this host at all. We did receive a full refund and an apology upon our complaint which was considerate. If you are looking for an open spot in a field with other campers in the mountains near lots of fun stuff, this spot would be great. But not if you are looking for a private creekside camp spot. Happy Camping to everyone!

Emily was incredibly hospitable to us. We had a car mishap while on the property and Emily and her team were quick to help us and provide us with support in the rain! Very pleased with their hospitality.

Beautiful campsite close to the creek. The owners were friendly and welcoming. Perfect if you enjoy primitive camping without facilities, away from other campers. Helpful that there was wifi only a short walk from camp to contact friends and relatives. Would highly recommend and will stay again.

Emily was super helpful but still gave us plenty of privacy. I will say that you shouldn't camp there during rainy days as the meadow gets very muddy. Otherwise a beautiful campsite! It was right next to the river and we even got to feed the horses :)

My best friend and I loved tent camping on Emily's land! We had so much fun exploring the mountainside with lush forest and breathtaking waterfalls, warming up by the fire, saying hello to the friendly farm animals, and getting professional photos done with a local photographer (Sabrina L Greene 💚)! We felt like we had all the privacy we needed while still close to creature comforts if we wanted anything. Highly recommend this stay to all!

This is a gorgeous piece of land, sitting in a valley where the creek meets the river. Emily has developed a beautiful community here. There are horses, goats, chickens, and many more animals I’m sure. She greeted us by giving a tour of the property and allowing us to pick any spot we wanted. We ended up camping on one of the trails/roads (bring a weed-eater, rake, and a saw to make your own spot) but I’m not sure I could’ve found a better place anyways. Right next to the water, a huge rock gave us plenty of space to sit out and watch the kids play in the creek all day. If you’re looking for privacy and a wonderful time for young kids, this is the place. My daughters both woke up and directly went to say good morning to the horses. My wife and 1yo boy stayed in the creek all day long. My nephews, who had never been camping and have grown up in the city, traveled up and down the creek.. tubed, fished.. they had a very memorable time!
