At Camden Haven Air Strip, We offer a range of affordable accommodation. The bush camping is located on the banks of the Camden Haven River on the NSW Mid North Coast, only 10 minutes from Laurieton and midway between Port Macquarie and Taree. If you love water sports and flying and would like to combine your passion with an escape to the wide-open spaces of the beautiful Camden Haven River countryside then Camden Haven AirStrip is the place for you. We have a privately-owned airstrip on site. The runway is grass, 915 metres long, and suitable for light aircraft, both recreational and GA. It's an ideal location for aviators and non-aviators to enjoy this fantastic region. We have bush camping that is suitable for caravans and tents. Cabins We have two self-contained cabins with en-suites on the premises that sleep 2 people each. Our cabins provide a unique opportunity to explore the attractions the airfield and surrounding area has to offer. They are ideal for pilots overnighting, or for visitors looking for budget accommodation in a peaceful setting. River access is a short walk away. We have a large area near the riverbank, which is perfect for camping or just a day out enjoying the river with the family and going fishing. You can also put your jet ski or jet boat in. You can also have a campfires on site as long as no fire bans are on. The sites are big and flat, good for Caravans and tents. The ground is sandy and has some grass. All sites are along the river bank. Must check in before dark.

We we’re made very welcome and directions were clear. However river side location was not quite what we expected, too far from the river and inaccessible due to lantana Mosquitos were ramped. Host were very friendly

Bring your own toilet.
Well, apart from the 5 million mosquito's, that want to make Count Dracula look like he is on a low blood diet. The Porta Loo on the camp site was not working, it was full when we arrived. There was a notice on it to use the one adjacent the aircraft hangers, which was fine. Then on Sunday, after the model plane club, who must have been saving up their bowel movements to visit the Porta Loo by the hangars had left. That one remaining loo was full as well. So we left a day early. No staff or caretaker was on site to advise or open any alternative toilet facility. Although both of us are former military and have served on operations where you make your own, we did not fancy an attack from the rear. From vengeful mossies, having slaughtered hundreds of them earlier.

Overpriced, bugs.
Whilst we did overall enjoy our time here, it was disappointing that with so many people staying (40 ish), they hadn’t planned ahead for the single portaloo to be emptied over the holiday period! River access was good though. Highly recommend the absolute best insect repellant you can find! Overpriced for essentially a nice spot near a river, but close to a highway and a full loo!

Being so close to the freeway meant constant truck noise for most of the night and being warned of bull sharks and the broken boat ramp was a turn off from swimming. Good spot for an over night stay but not for multiple days in a row.

Nice spot, easy access from the highway but not so close that it’s noisy. Well maintained and great communication from the hosts including clear directions. The downfall is that there were so many mosquitoes both at night and in the morning.

Great little camping area! Very large sites, lots of shady places, perfect spot for fishing. Lee was lovely and the communication was amazing. Would stay again.
