The roosters will crow at sunrise. Esther Hobart Morris, the resident livestock guardian dog, will bark to prevent coyotes, foxes, etc. from dining on chicken. You will step in manure. Keep an eye to the sky to spot American kestrels, Northern harriers, Short-eared owls, and other raptors.

The Yurt at Grass River Retreat

Grass River Retreat is set back behind the Ellis Ranch in the riparian area next to the Popo Agie River on 3 1/2 acres. We are frequented by an abundance of wildlife and welcomed by our two friendly llamas, Trip and Journey. Wandering around the property, you will find bees, ducks, chickens, turkeys, and an organic garden. Only two miles to town and 6 miles to Sinks Canyon State Park.

JMA Campground is located about 15 minutes west of Riverton, Wyoming.

Outstanding views of the Wind River Mountain Range and the Owl Creek Mountain Range. We do not have trees or green grass - bring your own shade. LOL

We have 30 and 50 amp RV sites (each site has water) along with primitive tent sites. Amenities at the park include WiFi, fire pits, firewood, shower and restroom facilities, picnic areas, trash services and a RV dump station available for $10. Visitors can take advantage of the various outdoor activities such as basketball, hiking, biking and stargazing.

Our campers enjoy our quiet solitude - we're not located along a busy noisy highway! Jim and I established our place in 1983. We produced team ropings and barrel racing jackpots for nearly 40 years - we no longer produce rodeo events (due to health). In 2017, we decided to share our property with campers - we have cherished each and every moment - we have made so many friends! 

From the JMA Campground, it is 50 miles to Thermopolis (hot springs, whitewater rafting, fishing, buffalo, dinosaur museum, etc.); 60 miles to the National Military Museum in Dubois; 130 miles to the South Entrance of Grand Teton National Park; 45 miles to Lander; 70 miles to South Pass City - many other local attractions.

Seminole Winds Teepee Experience

Learn more about this land:Welcome to our property! This listing is for an authentic native camp experience. We will greet you and we will actually spend time setting up the teepee with you so that you understand how the structure works - we love to share this knowledge. There is an artificial turf floor but you're off the dirt. Please bring a sleeping mat and a sleeping bag and pillow. Great view and an open fire and a peaceful night under the stars. There is a fire pit inside the teepee and we will teach you how to build the fire inside the teepee. Morning breakfast is provided upon request!This home place is a drug and alcohol free zone.. with some great food and some storytelling too!

Learn more about this land:Located in Thermopolis, WY. We offer a calm river access tucked just away off from the highway. Deep water and little current make this a prime swimming and recreating area. Campsites are limited to space but portable restrooms are available. The river is perfect for kayaking and padding boarding as well and we have equipment available for rent. Turf pads are available for tents or lounge areas. There is a boat ramp on site as well.
