Ever want to leave your job and unite with nature? Me too, after 10-plus years of tax preparation, I found myself with a desire to farm and to become closer to the food we take for granted. This farm is unique in that it was cleared and stripped of its topsoil and its fill was sold off to the state. What was left behind was a pond and some poor farmland. I purchased this less desirable property inexpensively and have been working tirelessly to regenerate the property to a farm that mimics nature and our natural ecosystem. I have planted over 1000 trees and perennial shrubs to move this property into an oak savannah-like natural farming system. In 2015 I purchased this property without any farming experience and have begun to transform this property into a beautiful destination. Spur of the Moment Resort provides a unique experience as it resides on the Nicolet Recreational Trail at the Southern End of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Booking a campsite, rustic camping cabin, or log cabin gives you direct access to the trails and a recreational wonderland. The Nicolet Trail is a 90 mile long trail that connects ATV's and UTV's to all of our trails in Oconto County, Marinette County, Forest County, Florence County, Langlade County, and the upper peninsula of Michigan. Cute little cabin on a private pond! Roy is a great host! A small boat is left in the water for the guests to use. A tank of clean water was on the picnic table. The firepit is very nice and plenty of firewood was supplied! Portapotty is a nice amenity, it’s not the cleanest, but plenty of toilet paper was supplied. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking to get away from civilization for a bit!

Spent the weekend with my Granddaughter at The G Farm. We loved every bit of it! Farmer Justin & his wife Kim were the the best hosts, so personable and welcoming. We paid extra to do the farm tour and it was worth every penny. Farmer Justin showed us around and explained alot about the farm and his visionfor natural, sustainable farming. We had it all, chickens, ducks, cows, pigs, and even saw the farm rabbits and cats. They also have 2 dogs, the Great Pyrenees Otis was adorable!!! He guided us right to the cabin and stayed with us for a couple hours which was perfect as we are dog lovers & own 2 Alaskan Malamutes ( they had to stay home on this trip). The camp has every thing you need, firepit, benches, picnic table, a small grill and a quaint, cozy cabin. The cabin does have electricity- there is also a hot plate inside and a radio you can use. They also allow use of their canoes & life jackets and fishing equipment for free. You can even eat the fish you catch! There is no stove other than the hot plate and no refrigerator. Also no sink or shower- toilet is an outhouse so if you are avid campers like us, this doesn't matter... just wanted to mention it for people to be aware of. We absolutely loved our stay and definitely would recommend it for people that enjoy rough it, nature camping. They also have a store that sells their farm's products. We didn't get to enjoy everything they offer so we definitely will go back for a longer stay!

We loved our stay here! We were fortunate to be the only hip campers for the first night. Enjoyed walking the trails, and checking out the lake. Unfortunately was too windy to do any kayaking. Cabin was clean with everything we needed. Bathrooms were also clean. Cabins are close/facing each-other. Not very private and shared fire pit

Weekend Trip to The G Farm
Camping with the cows was an amazing experience. Being able to stay in the cabin was a lifesaver considering it was pretty chilly outside. We got the experience of camping at a state park and more.
Ember showed us around the farm and talked to us about how life on the farm is. She was very smart! We ran into Farmer Justin, who was busy with his daily chores, but nice enough to give us a quick rundown of the place.
The cabin has two twin size bunk beds, electrical outlets, an electric heater, card games, and an electric portable stove. There was plenty of open space around the cabin. The pond was very calm, but we didn’t catch any fish on our trip in the canoe.
Would highly recommend this place.

The tiny house was perfect for just me and my watercolor paints. The space heater kept me plenty warm even though it seems that we are actually having a proper winter this year in Wisconsin. Comfy, cozy, and very private.

We loved our stay at this cozy cabin on Green Lake! The cabin was spotless, comfortable, and perfect for our family. The hosts thought of everything — from a welcoming coffee and snack basket to fire pits already prepped for us. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake, walking the peaceful paths, and relaxing under the stars at night. The property is absolutely beautiful and well cared for. A wonderful mix of comfort and nature — we can’t wait to come back!

We enjoyed having the fire pit and chairs (we didn’t find matches but brought our own). The weather didn’t cooperate but the dock and kayaks were really neat and we wish we had stayed an extra day. We thought the grounds and chapel were great and we anticipate coming back again :)

I had a great time at their farm. The cabin is perfect for one or two campers and there’s plenty of room for another tent or two as well. There’s a good size fire pit and a couple different docks to enjoy the view of the pond. There’s also canoes and a paddle boat for use with life jackets available as well. They have everything you need available, and a great farm store for any food you might have forgotten to pack. They encourage you to roam around the property and there’s a lot of great stuff to see. I think it’s really great that they were able to set this piece of their property aside to share with anyone trying to get away for some peace and relaxation. They’re also doing some really great restorative work on the land that’s interesting to hear about. I loved my weekend here and I’ll definitely be back again!
