Weekend Trip to DeLeeuw Dens

The yurt itself was a beautifully set up — spacious, warm, and very accommodating. Even with the cool October evenings, the heated yurt kept us toasty, and gathering around for games of dominoes while being warm and cozy. If you’re looking for something memorable and a little different, I recommend this yurt. The blend of nature, comfort, and family connection made it one of our favorite getaways. We’ll be back next fall!

Wonderful family get away. Slept so well. Lots of stargazing, family game nights, and screen free time. Would absolutely come back! I bet the yurt is beautiful after a snowfall. Responsive hosts, super clean yurt, comfy beds, and a composting not stinky out house! Had a great time.

Fisher Cat Creek was a great spot to relax and disconnect. Thank you to David and Veronica for the hospitality, the cabin was very comfortable and cozy. Everything was very clean and ready to go (having a little dog that sticks his little nose on everything we appreciate how tidy everything was). We had a couple of rainy nights but there was plenty of dry firewood to cook on the stove inside. We spent a lot of time reading on the couch with the sound of the rain and Archie had a great time while we explored the surrounding woods, definitely recommend going on a hike!! David and Veronica have thought of everything we could have needed, kitchen has literally all the utensils, beds were clean and comfy, plenty of firewood and drinking water, T.P., BBQ setup, lots of books and boardgames, plus the long dog tie out leash already set up was perfect! It was so comfortable we could have stayed way longer. What a cool place, very thoughtfully designed and built! Can’t wait to come back some other time! Thanks again! Cameron, Isabela & Archie

We had an amazing time with the dogs. Lake was a short walk down the road. Not far. Very secluded, just what we needed for our holliday weekend. The bed was very soft, and anything we needed was there at camp. We definitely over packed. Would recommend to anyone.

This place was so cool! I loved staying the YURT. The surrounding wilderness and stream on the land made it so peaceful. A lot of bird watching, wildlife sightings, and gorgeous flowers and trees. I enjoyed the comfort of being high up with a locked door and windows open to hear the crickets. I will return for another trip. Anytime of the year would be fine since there is heat and air conditioning. So lovely!

5 Families, 10 adults and 11 children had a wonderful stay at these cabins despite the oppressive weather. The creek was a wonderful place to spend the day, and we paid for the kitchen building which was our place to congregate in the evenings out when the weather wasn’t cooperating. The beds were serviceable, and everyone that needed one had a fan at night to keep cool. Falling asleep to the sounds of the rivers rapids at night was wonderful. The Patrick was great and very attentive. Our group was already talking about planning next year by the time we left.

The cabin at Fisher Cat Creek was absolutely precious for a solo retreat. The design of it was so beautifully done in every aspect. Water, blankets, and utensils are provided, which was awesome! My favorite amenity, though, was the egg-shaped porch swing (Second only to the library of books to choose from). My trip made for an excellent couple days of pure relaxation and reading/writing while the rain poured down. I stayed cozy and felt like I could give my brain a break from daily life. Thank you thank you thank you!

Veronica and Dave’s Cabin was so aesthetically pleasing and cozy to live in for a few days. They were extremely hospitable and friendly upon arrival. We were there in late January during some cold weather, and even in negative temps at some points, but the wood stove heated the cabin well. We feel very relaxed after this trip, and we would certainly recommend it to people that love nature and living simply.

We loved this little cabin so much that we booked a summer stay on the drive home! The details are amazing and you can tell the owners put a lot of love and care into the space. The sauna was lovely, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen is pretty well equipped - we can’t wait to be back. Note that there is no electricity at this site, but plenty of lanterns / solar lights are provided. A headlamp helps!
