We’ve had this property in my family for over 30 years and it is been a potato farm, a cattle ranch, and a Lumber-mill site. We built our cabin from scratch from 47 tamarack large trees on our property. This is a very rustic and remote log cabin situated on 120 acres that is adjacent to DNR state land. It is primarily forested and teaming with wildlife. The cabin is about 4000 feet in elevation on Lemonasky Mountain just 1 mile below and an historical fire look-out. It is perched on top of a beautiful large meadow with a 50 mile view that has wonderful sunrises and sunsets.

We're closed for winter. We love hosting campers. Highland Glenn Ranch is located 15 miles north of Republic, WA in Ferry County. Acres of forest allow for outdoor games and woodland exploration. We are happy to help make your stay on our Ranch special. A Resource Book is available to borrow with listings of local attractions, outdoor activities, shops, and restaurants to help you plan activities during your stay. ~ If visiting Canada is of interest, a scenic 30-minute drive further north on Hwy. 21 along the Kettle River takes you to the border crossing at Grand Forks, BC. If you have questions about the campsites, please reach out. If all sites are booked, contact us… we may be able to create a spot for you. We have room to grow but are doing it slowly. The day of your booking we will reach out on your ETA. We always meet and greet first time campers at the gate and escort you to your site, so please arrive as close to Check-In time as possible. We understand that travel can delay arrival. If you tell us you’ll be here at 4:30, we’re sitting and waiting for you. So if you’ll be late, please be courteous of our time and let us know… communication goes a long way. NOTE: we don’t have cell reception and we’re only online once each day. After booking, we will send you our home landline number (no texting) to call for communication. This is a working Ranch so please be aware that there are sounds associated with our activities: sheep and goats get excited at feeding time; livestock guard dogs bark while doing their jobs, and the rooster announces the break of dawn. ~ The Ranch borders State Land and is within 1 mile of the Colville National Forest means endless miles of picturesque hiking and wildlife viewing ~ Swimming, fishing, boating, and water skiing are only 15 minutes away at Curlew Lake State Park and the Kettle River ~ One bundle of firewood, 5 gallons of potable water, and a compost toilet are included with your stay. BYOTP though WILDLIFE: There is a wide range of wildlife around the Ranch- snowshoe hare, grouse, turkey, bobcat, Canada lynx, coyote, cougar, wolf, and black bear. This cabin was so cozy. We stayed for a couple nights over Christmas and it was lovely. The cabin is very private with amazing views of the meadow and mountains. We absolutely utilized the kitchen, the available board games , and the surrounding landscape for snowshoeing. The central wood burning stove (plus the little portable heater we brought) kept the cabin a cozy temperature. We would for sure stay here again. Our traveling cat also had a lovely time!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at this cabin . It was littlery everything i was looking for , for our adventure together. Our two dogs loved it to . There was a recent snow so it was like a winter wonderland , time went so slow on top of the mountain which made it even better. They have all of the basic camping kitchen supplies multiple beds, plenty of firewood and acres to explore. When we had a question joy was really quick with responding and kind. Overall we would defenatly come back to stay again in the winter.

My bf and I celebrated our anniversary this November at Joy's cabin. At first I considered moving our trip to the spring, but I *so loved* being in the wind and rain in a cozy cabin indoors. The remote location is absolutely magical. I would definitely try to get to the cabin before dark; barring that, make sure to have multiple offline versions of the directions: 1) Google Maps directions and map screenshots to the destination, and 2) Joy's written directions. She was very proactive and communicative via satellite phone when we were lost at night. Thanks again Joy for trusting us with your family's private home.

Really lovely cabin! Cozy, comfortable, and super easy to settle into with everything you need on hand. Perfect spot to relax and recharge. Putting water through the filter worked out perfectly, the stove was nice and cozy, and even the cows made for some entertaining "wildlife" viewing!

What a delightful stay we had at the Meadow Cabin. Our 4 night, 5 day stay was exactly what we needed. The fact that there is no wifi or cell service was a total blessing! The cabin is a great place to disconnect from the noise and I was able to relax deeply and reconnect with myself and my wife. I smiled more. Slept more. Rested more. Took gentle, ambling walks. I actually read for almost a whole day and ended up finishing an amazing 900+ page book—something I haven't done in years. Our dogs loved it! Watching the cows was like a meditation. The colors and the weather shifted and changed throughout our stay, with a downpour with hail clearing much of the smoke from a southerly fire. So peaceful. The peace and quiet at the Meadow Cabin seems a rarity these days. We will definitely be back. It is an inspiring stay for sure.

My sister and I absolutely loved it here! My dog as well. We spent most of the time on the porch. Was great to drink wine with a relaxing beautiful view. I expected it to be cold inside in the morning, but the cabin kept in the heat without needing to start a fire. My family grew up in a place like this, so it brought back so many great memories. This is a place I’ll come back to.

Christine’s land was perfect for a quiet getaway. It is on a farm, so you do hear animals from a far distance. It was not annoying whatsoever. Plenty of room for larger tents or even multiple tents. The river access was really nice for sitting next to with a cocktail or early morning coffee. The toilet is a little bit of a walk, but I always bring my own.

The site was spacious and very private, with beautifully maintained grounds and direct access to the river—it truly felt like our own little retreat in nature. The location was also perfect, just a short drive to town yet peaceful and secluded. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. One of the highlights of our trip was the 2-hour horseback ride—an unforgettable adventure that the entire family loved! Fantastic special place full of history and family love. The fact that Joy trusts all of us to rent this place demonstrates her understanding of how special what she built is to everyone. The guest book entries made me cry several times and the views off the porch were memorable to say the least. I got to see a baby black bear standing on his back legs surveying the meadow at sunrise (before I hollered at my dog and scared everyone away lol). The shower and bathtub under the stars or at sunrise are the chef’s kiss on top of everything else. Well appointed amenities, no real bugs or mice entry points to the cabin, everything you need for a rustic cabin adventure. But again this is their family’s legacy and you’re trusted to care for it with reverence so we can all go back please! My dog Tony was in heaven all weekend enjoying his freedom and rolling in the dust to cool off - I swear he learned that watching the cows! It was a 92-96* weather weekend and while it did get very hot in the direct sun, the cabin’s porch had a constant cool breeze and I didn’t find the interior of the cabin unbearable. I hope to come back in every season! Thank you Joy for opening your cabin to us - it means a lot.

Weekend Trip to The Sleepy Sasquatch

We thoroughly enjoyed our glamping experience! We are very grateful for the opportunity to stay at such a beautiful property. While the lack of phone signal was noticeable, it allowed us to disconnect from social media and fully appreciate the serenity and peacefulness of the location. The stunning view was certainly an added bonus. The hosts were incredibly helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. The off-roading journey to the site was quite exciting, and a 4x4 vehicle would be beneficial. Our Subaru and Jeep Gladiator handled the terrain well. Bringing your own ATV could make this place an ideal location for exploration, but it would be wise to inquire with the hosts beforehand. We found flying kites to be a delightful activity, especially with the morning winds. We would also recommend bringing a tarp for shade, as the sun can be quite strong during the midday hours. The site is perfect for stargazing, and we highly recommend setting up a movie projector at night.

Beautiful private setting near a river on a spacious ranch surrounded by hills and irrigated fields. Tall trees provide shade and bird habitat. River proximity demands bug spray but invites cold plunges or casual wading. Ample property offers interesting walking paths and pasture proximity. Horseback rides were a great option and thoroughly enjoyable even for this equine neophyte. Recommend communicating early to validate check in expectations.

This campsite was a wonderful spot shaded among pine trees only a few steps from the refreshing waters of a near by river. Don was a very kind camp host, and got us all squared away. You definitely have the place to yourself, just you and the wildlife. We had a great experience camping at this spot, and will be back next time we are in the area.
