Rusty Ranch Tree Farm is dedicated to "Eduction through Exploration" where we strive to provide your family and friends with more than just camping but also a place to experience nature and learn about forestry. Hike the several miles of nature trails on the hillside and explore our 65 acres of certified forest. Placards on the nature trail are part of our self-guided tour and provide information about forestry and the plants and animals that call this their home. You may request a guided interactive tour for your group if you prefer or sign up for our class on making maple syrup in your own back yard. . Wander through the old growth groves, walk the 50' boardwalk and see the magical Fern Ridge. There are abundant wildflowers and seasonal berries to pick, as well as a variety of fall apples and pears in the old orchard available for self harvest. You can even purchase a tree to take home and plant. We also offer a roadside farm stand with fresh seasonal fruits and veggies as well as farm fresh eggs. Learn more about this land:     I have a campsite in the woods close to my pond      At the pond you may see ducks, swallows, kingfishers, herons and many other visitors. I even had some otters the other day. It's very quiet and peaceful here.   There is a row boat available for rowing around. Although the pond isn't as full in the summer as in the winter, you can still dive off the bank on the deep side.     Depending on the season, some fruits and vegetables will  be available for purchase. Small campfires are allowed as long as there isn't a burn ban on which is common in the late summer months. I will have some fire wood available for sale.     You may visit the sheep through the fence but are not allowed to go through any gates.  I will  be happy to give a short visit for petting and learning about the sheep for a fee of $10 if I am able to arrange a time for that.     The beach is at the end of the road. Guemes Island has lots of beachcombing. Guemes "mountain" has nice hiking trail with a dramatic view from the top when the weather is clear.      The Guemes ferry leaves from 6th St and I st. in Anacortes and runs frequently during the day. The schedule and fares can be found on the Skagit county website.

The campground includes two small rv sites that include covered 12’x20’ shelters. One 8'x16' cabin. Three small rv sites. Each site has a fire pit, picnic tables, room for additional tents, and parking as well. Surrounding the sites is a playground, covered community cooking/dining with multiple BBQs and smoker, a pond, open fields. All amenities are easily accessible by the road that loops through the campground. This listing is for the CAMPGROUND ONLY. The property has other homes available for rent including a large home (sleeps 16), a smaller home (sleeps 4), and an indoor event venue. Additional accommodations and access may be possible as well. Gaia Rising Farm is located on Guemes Island, Washington. It is dedicated to moving our community towards a more resilient future, away from fossil fuels and using natural and organic farming methods. Sequoia has lived here for 34 years gardening, farming and tending the land using organic and permaculture methods. Her latest venture is raising a small flock of Gotland sheep. Learn more about this land:     I have a campsite in the woods close to my pond      At the pond you may see ducks, swallows, kingfishers, herons and many other visitors. I even had some otters the other day. It's very quiet and peaceful here.   There is a row boat available for rowing around. Although the pond isn't as full in the summer as in the winter, you can still dive off the bank on the deep side.     Depending on the season, some fruits and vegetables will  be available for purchase. Small campfires are allowed as long as there isn't a burn ban on which is common in the late summer months. I will have some fire wood available for sale.     You may visit the sheep through the fence but are not allowed to go through any gates.  I will  be happy to give a short visit for petting and learning about the sheep for a fee of $10 if I am able to arrange a time for that.     The beach is at the end of the road. Guemes Island has lots of beachcombing. Guemes "mountain" has nice hiking trail with a dramatic view from the top when the weather is clear.      The Guemes ferry leaves from 6th St and I st. in Anacortes and runs frequently during the day. Camp in a private grove of trees overlooking acres of pastures with grazing sheep, miniature cattle, ponies, and horses. Depending upon the time of year, there may be lambs, newborn calves or puppies. From December to June a creek burbles by. The campsite has a gazebo with furniture and fire table. There is also a fire ring, but burn bans sometimes begin as early as the middle of June. Current burn ban rules will be posted. Acres of grass to wander through, and a Portapotty for your convenience. There is running water, but it is piped from the creek via solar-powered pump, and is not potable. During the winter we pull the pump. Water is available from the busy creek just feet away. Picnic tables for your use.

Almost 20 years ago, Shelley and Casey moved back to the beautiful Skagit Valley farm Shelley grew up on. Her family has farmed in the valley for five generations. Casey had studied permaculture in the San Juan Islands and they immediately began planting edible and useful plants throughout the property. They started a small Community Supported Agriculture program growing vegetables and fruit for several families. But it is available at the Shell station less than 5 minutes from our farm. Tent Site: Pitch your tent in a private corner of our little organic farm in the beautiful Skagit Valley. You will be surrounded by gorgeous edible landscaping and a stunning view of Mount Baker. Take a stroll through our gardens, graze on some fruit in season. A 10 minute walk or quick bike ride to the Skagit River offering great swimming in the warmer months. Our farm is surrounded by many flat scenic farm roads very popular for cyclists and photographers. There are two restaurants and several antique shops less than a mile away in the cute little town of Conway. The Conway Muse is a funky music venue and restaurant hosting great live music on weekends throughout the year. Had a short stay here last minute in the cabin and it was wonderful! Definitely would love to come back another time for longer so I can explore the property more. The cabin has a top bunk bed and a full sized futon that was actually very comfortable. The bottom bunk is two benches with a table which was nice to eat and play cards on. There is a campfire pit and a compost outhouse which was very clean and nice. A snack shack is available where you can purchase stuff with cash or Venmo. Hope to be back next year!

Words are utterly useless in describing our time on Margaret’s property, but I’ll try. Margaret is exceptional; great hospitality, active communicator, and such a sweet soul. The property is astounding, well maintained, and incredibly family friendly. My daughter was obsessed with the farm life, that was the highlight every morning and evening. Perfect location for meandering towards Mount Baker or wanting to enjoy the perks along HWY 20; nothing was too far in my opinion. We explored Bellingham and Vancouver BC. Our nana is visiting and we always take her to new places around WA. The add on options were a delight; we enjoyed the salmon and cinnamon rolls. The playgrounds were a perfect spot to wind down after a long day. The privy’s were impeccable and maintained daily. This did not feel like camping. The cabin is cozy and perfect for our small group. We cannot wait to return. Thank you Margaret for absolutely everything.

Such an amazing campsite! 1.5 hours away from downtown seattle. not hard to find, close enough to civilization that theres signal but absolutely no people around, just me and the farm animals that were so cute and not stinky! there were baby cows, sheep and an alpaca. i had a wonderful time. it was extremely beautiful and peaceful i havent felt this relaxed and at peace in so long. close to grocery stores too. theres a porta potty too which was nice. 10/10 would come back. thank you laura for the wonderful stay! thankfully not too many bugs, was expecting a lot more since the animals were there but it was minimal:)

Laura’s place was beautiful! From the adorable farm animals near by, to the beautiful view from our tent each morning and evening. The spot was large and we were able to find two flat spots of our tents. The port-a-potty was clean and stocked. The spot was easy to find, far enough from the hustle and bustle for a quiet sleep in what felt like the country side, but close enough to get to popular nearby destinations. Laura was an incredible host. We took her up on the farm tour, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We even got to see a fresh baby calf!! We will definitely be back!

Taking the boys here was quite literally the best decision I’ve made all summer. I have two young boys and one is very sensitive. The little cabin we rented was made for him! He mentioned over and over how safe he felt and how much fun he was having. The best compliment a mom can get is “this is the best day ever”. Margaret was a dream. She welcomed us like family and gave us lots of local tips. On the property, there’s a little mini golf setup that we had fun playing, two playgrounds, two game shacks, lots of clearly carved out trails, TONS of artistic details around the property to find, and we ended every night with a treat at the snack shack. We spent the whole ride home, planning our next visit to the tree farm. Margaret, thank you for providing this beautiful space to create memories. I’ll fall asleep tonight with a full and happy heart ❤️

Nice secluded location. Picnic tables, seating, bbq ( probably have to bring you own propane), kids play structure and a clean smelling outhouse. It was perfect. We could hear coyotes howling in the field during the night. The only minor issue we had was We had a large 8 person tent and it was tough to find a level place to put the tent up that was big enough. Smaller tents would be better.
