We have worked to ensure that you feel the rich cultural and natural heritage of this rugged wilderness in the North Cascade foothills. Within an hour or two of Seattle, Vancouver BC, Mt Baker, The Salish Sea and so much more. We have lava tube swimming holes on the property, and glacier fed spring water, and The property is adjacent to the easily accessible and incredile Nooksack Valley Gold mine Trail.Come experience life as it once was in the Cascadia bio-region.Learn more about this land:Nestled on the first foothills of the Cascades, this 30 acre historic farm property established in 1890 has an array of beautiful and private tenting sights from grassy fields to lush rainforest. Winedown Camp at Boulder Creek

This property is located within a gated cabin community called Cascade River Park Club. Your camping lot is located in a beautiful wooded lot surrounded by trees and vegetation, and a creek that wraps around the property. It includes a large fire pit, 6 Adirondack chairs, a bench overlooking the creek, and a picnic table.

40 miles NW of the camp site is Baker Lake and it's excellent for kayaking, swimming and boating.

This is Boulder Creek Bridge. It is the last bridge you pass before arriving to the property which is the 2nd driveway on the right after the Bridge.

Oostema Farmstead



Hi we’re Glen and Lisa Oostema – the proud owners of Oostema Farmstead, a working farm located a short drive from Lynden, WA.

You will roam the 117 acres. We have raspberries and field crops that surround the Farmstead.

 You will also find our herd of cattle as we raise Grass-Fed Wagyu here on the Farmstead.

We have loved sharing our home, and the Farmstead with many guests, turned friends, from all around the world! It is indeed our priority to provide a comfortable, beautiful, and peaceful space for you. But most importantly, we hope you will find rest and relaxation close to nature with a glimpse into a slow living pace, and we hope to share that experience with you through your stay.

If you have difficulty with anything, do not hesitate to let us know, and we will be more than happy to help you.

Highwater Farm

At Highwater Farm Jeff and Danielle, and their five kids, work hard to be good stewards of the land. We believe the health of the people is directly related to the health of the land that produces their food. Our land is certified organic. We grow soil improving crops, such as clover and grasses, and let fields rest in rotation with vegetables. These techniques increase fertility naturally and keep the earth in good tilth.

Pitch your tent under a nice shade tree in the middle of an organic vegetable farm in the heart of the  Skagit river valley. Have a look at our sheep, cows, geese and resident eagles. Just 2 miles to Clear lake public beach and minutes to Mount Vernon , Sedro Woolley, or Burlington.  About halfway between Seattle and the Canadian border and 30 min to Anacortes ferry terminal.

Such a magical spot to enjoy the cool morning air.

We returned to the farm to find Jeff and Danielle weeding.

To keep with Anja's summer mission daily dip, we headed to the Skagit River accessible in the nearby town of Mount Vernon.

The rolling hills glowed in the distance.

It felt special to dine in-between working fields.

Still used on the fields, there were a couple of beautiful old tractors.

With a few options for camp spots, we chose a cozy, secluded spot in a bed of tall grass surrounded by beautiful deciduous trees.

Happy Little Farm

Twelve years ago, Shelley and Casey moved back to the beautiful Skagit Valley farm Shelley grew up on.   Her family has farmed in the valley for five generations.  Casey had studied permaculture in the San Juan Islands and they immediately began planting edible and useful plants throughout the property.  They started a small Community Supported Agriculture program growing vegetables and fruit for several families.  The property has evolved over time to include several living willow structures and a wonderful collection of unusual fruits creating what they hope is the feeling of a Wonderland.

New Van Camping Site in 2023:  We have a new gravel pad van site next to an 18 acre farm field with a wonderful sunset view.   We do not allow fires at the site.  But you would be welcome to have a campfire in our firepit a short walk from your van site.  Please note, we are not currently offering firewood.  But it is available at the Shell station less than 5 minutes from our farm.

Tent Site:  Pitch your tent in a private corner of our little organic farm in the beautiful Skagit Valley.  You will be surrounded by gorgeous edible landscaping and a stunning view of Mount Baker.  Take a stroll through our gardens, graze on some fruit in season.  A 10 minute walk or quick bike ride to the Skagit River offering great swimming in the warmer months.

Our farm is surrounded by many flat scenic farm roads very popular for cyclists and photographers.  There are two restaurants and several antique shops less than a mile away in the cute little town of Conway.  The Conway Muse is a funky music venue and restaurant hosting great live music on weekends throughout the year.

Feel free to pick organic fruits, vegetables and nuts to enjoy at your campsite or take home by donation.

The Chuckanut Rock

Watch the sunset into the world famous San Juan Islands. Our property is

located on the scenic Chuckanut Drive. It is a 15 minute walk to Taylor United's Seafood Bar that has beer and wine. You will need boots just below the knee, or hiking shoes that will get wet. The Creek crossing is a little deeper this year. You will also be crossing a muddy area for about 20 yards, you will sink about 3 inches into the mud. The hike into the campsite takes 12 minutes. You need to contact me to check the tides, as to be able to get to the campsite. We need to hike in below a 5 foot tide. Starting October, the campsite closes for winter. Again , this campsite is Tide dependent. The first question to me should be, What is the latest we can hike in? I am not Moses, I can’t part the sea.
