Loved the site and Greg was a great host! Getting the shade sail is a must if you don't have one of your own as there isn't much protection from the afternoon sun! The river is lovely to swim in but it's down a steep bank so bring your water shoes for that extra grip. Friendly cats on the campsite and so many fireflies :D

Greg was a great host. Very attentive and informative. At the last minute he moved us to a better site that fit our needs better. This a great place to experience the potomac river and c and o canal trail. The caves were very cool also!

The hilltop campsite was really great! We loved having the place all to ourselves! It was a beautiful place to camp! I would definitely recommend it! A nice walk down to the river as well. Greg was very nice and helpful.

Went tent camping in spot 11 it was nice area the river was not too far away kids enjoyed themselves very much. At night when the sky is clear you can see many stars and during the day you get to see many beautiful butterflies- 2 things I don’t get to see much in my city. In all it was a great experience we all enjoyed ourselves and will be visiting again in the future.

Greg was a great host. He was always making sure we were having a good time and that we had all what we need that he could provide us. The campsite was clean, it’s definitely a nice place for camping although we couldn’t get in the river due the bad rain from days before camping . We will definitely go back so hopefully we can enjoy the river.

Excellent site. Cleared and clean nice view of the river. Tree configuration makes for a nice group of hammocks. Will be back. Host was very communicative and prompt to respond.

Greg's spot was so beautiful and away from roads enough that all you could hear was the joy of other campers. I rode over in my Prius, and he helped accommodate my trip by putting me up on a campsite that would be easier on my tires (it was a rainy weekend) I will definitely be returning. There is access to a rice by way of the CNO trail, and so many places to drive to. You can still receive service out there, and it very much a bare bones old school camp style: fire pit, porta pots, Greg is quick to respond and takes care of his guests. Thanks!

My son and I have been coming to this site now three years in row. Greg puts a lot into making it wonderful and he is involved in making things better, always improving the sites, adding infrastructure and support. We will continue coming to this spot for years to come. The proximity to great nature, the trails, the cave and the river make it so wonderful. Thanks again, Greg.

The hilltop was so open, I was shocked with how big the space was. I lucked out and had a full moon bright enough to not care about making a fire, and I was reimbursed for the wood I didn’t use. Definitely not any shade during the day so if it’s sunny maybe get the sun shade. The river’s right there. Unfortunately I went after it had been raining a LOT so the beach was flooded, but I went down to the area and it was very cute, would love to see it on a normal day. Host was super communicative. Portapotty was close. I had a beautiful time

Camping at Taylor’s Landing was a great experience. Greg was a great host and we look forward to returning in the future. The camp area had easy access to hiking trails, as well as to the Potomac River. There is also a cave to explore, not far from camp which was awesome. I would highly recommend this camping ground to family and friends.

The site was very private and very peaceful! Lots of open space to set up your tent and chairs facing the water for relaxing! I was able to easily get to the little beach front with my paddle board and get onto the water and enjoy the day. I will definitely be camping here again!

It was right on the C&O canal which was really nice. I recommend site 11 since it’s on the edge of a row of campsites and you won’t have other people on both sides. Host provided more than plenty of firewood.

Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The natural Shade/Privacy nooks will keep the midday sun off of tents and the surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hike up to a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13, 13x20 or 16x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay. (check individual sites for shade sail size available and in the "extra" section) Parents: This summer we will have a lifeguard watching the main beach from 11-4 to allow you greater flexibility during your stay as well as someone to take groups to the cave or on other special hikes, activities. Throughout the summer, the river offers a user-friendly experience as water levels recede. Embark on float trips, kayaking, excellent fishing, swimming, cave exploring, or visit the historic towns and the Antietam Battlefields nearby for a touch of civilization during your stay. We have two kayaks and 3 SUP's on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans 4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events. Please pre-order firewood via a message to me or via the "extra" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well seasoned hardwood.
