We have a few other campsites, well-spaced apart, so you can expect to see other campers periodically throughout your stay in passing or in common areas such as the toilet. You will be able to enjoy privacy and all the serenity that the outdoors has to offer! There is cooking grate on the fire pit so you can cook up some delicious meals. We’d suggest bringing some camping chairs if you’re tent camping to enjoy your meals or your morning coffee, as we do not have a picnic table on site. Robin is a super gracious and welcoming host. Her home and sites are located in a beautiful part of Virginia. We arrived early and had choice of the sites. We chose the most remote and private site of the three that were available. We had a small corner of the farm back by the chickens, horses and goats. The sites are not that far apart and on the small size, but they still felt adequately private. It’s just right for a short stay. There are many wineries and tap rooms in the area, in addition to parks and hiking trails. The morning we left Robin came to say goodbye and treated us to some delicious pumpkin bread that her daughter makes and sells on her IG. Check them out at Derby Farms. Thank you, Robin. It was our pleasure.

We hosted a 7-person retreat here and it was absolutely magical. The property feels like a sanctuary—hammocks by the waterfall, butterflies everywhere, and plenty of space to do powerful, grounding work in nature. A short hike up the falls is well worth it, and you can even catch glimpses of Crabtree Falls from part of the land. It’s also easy to slip away to quiet spots along the Tye River for peaceful reflection. The lack of cell service turned out to be a gift, allowing everyone to be fully present and unplugged. We can’t wait to come back and see how the space continues to grow after construction—it’s already such a special place. Highly recommend for anyone seeking rest, connection, or a nature-based retreat!

One of our favorite HipCamp destinations- just finished our third stay here. Beautiful setting, nestled in the woods next to a rushing stream and a waterfall. Totally off grid - cancel all calls and turn off the phone. Bring a good book or plan to hike the abundant nearby trails, especially Crabtree Falls. The ultimate in forest bathing. Best for self contained campers; the only amenities are a fire pit, a tent platform (sans tent) and a plank for a shelf/table.

Great location and great host! We were going to Monticello the next day and there was even an organic food store on our way there. Robin was friendly and accommodating - and her Farm Store had lots of interesting teas, honey, and more. Tomatoes and Blue Pea Flower Kombucha were delicious.

Great location near crabtree falls and the Priest Mountain and Spy Rock area. The land is beautiful the waterfall is amazing. Hard to beat that with the benefit of privacy. The wildlife camera is to the left of the shed for finding and covering - i’m not sure if there is one by the waterfall it’s hard to find if there is. The waterfall pool is deep enough to lounge in on a hot day. One of my favorite spots I have camped.

Such an incredible spot! Cool to have such a unique space to yourself - my pup had a blast running up and down the mountains and playing in the water. Site was clean and private. Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and not too far from some cool breweries/distilleries/restaurants. Highly recommend this spot if you don't mind not having facilities. Already thinking about going back!!

Camp Cove Creek is located in rural Faber, Virginia which is 20 minutes from Charlottesville in beautiful Nelson County. In addition to the many natural features like the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail and the James River, Nelson is home to Wintergreen Resort and Oakridge Estate and hosts events such as the Lok'n Festival, Camp Jeep, and Overland Expo. Camp Cove Creek was part of my grandparent's Waveland Farm. Originally situated on over 600 acres, the brick antebellum house across the hill was used as a hospital in the Civil War. The camp used to be a horse and cattle farm as well as a flea market and airport with grass airstrip when my mom owned the land. Our vegetable garden was by the swimming hole. The airstrip still maintained as such in order to offer aviation-accessible camping. It is s the future home of Faber Christmas tree farm and features several notable antique vehicles rusting in peace. Some models are of the same make and model featured on TV and film. Camp Cove Creek is easily accessible via Rt 29 and Rt 6 east (Irish Road). Our property sits at the confluence of Bear and Cove Creeks where wading/hiking/tubing is permitted and encouraged (with water shoes). We are continually trying to improve the site by removing old barbed wire, poison ivy, roadside trash, and invasive plant species in addition to planting Christmas Trees, raising 3 kids, and working 2 full time jobs so please forgive our works in progress! This is your 30-acre camping playground! Licensed off-road vehicles, ADV and Dual-sport motorcycles, horses, personal electric vehicles and EVEN PRIVATE PLANES are welcomed! Camp anywhere along it or the creeks bordering it. We encourage walking the route first as it has intentionally been left primitive to provide more of an authentic and fun getaway adventure. Starting December 1, or first night below freezing we will be closing down Bath House and only access will be at outhouses. Only sites near outhouses will be open and there will be no access to water. Situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and bordering the Jefferson National Forest, Thunder BRidge has scenic, large, private tent sites and cabins in the woods for those who want to experience camping at its finest. Many of the sites border Elk Creek. Our RV sites are large, flat and at the edge of the forest in a well kept open green space. Our 100 acres was originally a camp built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the "30s and early '40s, then a boys' juvenile detention center and Big Brothers'/Big Sisters' camp, which closed in 2009. The tent sites and cabins are in the forest, away from the buildings out front, but you're free to walk around and check out the historic site. Most of the buildings out front are artist studios (currently for 16 artists). We like to share the camp with others and watch it come back to life. All within a short driving distance are the Natural Bridge, wineries, breweries, Natural Bridge Zoo, Safari Park, Dinosaur Kingdom, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, James River, historic Lexington, Devil's Marbleyard, Glenwood Horse Trail, swimming holes, etc. We have river access 2 miles up the road if you'd like to fish or put your kayak or canoe in. Truly, there is something nearby for everyone. We'd be happy to give you recommendations of things to see and do. If you are a star gazer you won't be disappointed by our dark sky. (no other campfire site are permitted on the property, although we have a firepit at 2 locations). *Please note that there is NO camping available at the waterfall.

Riverside Camping LLC offers a unique camping experience nestled along the scenic South Fork of the Shenandoah River, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, between the majestic Blue Ridge and Massanutten Mountains. Family-owned and operated since 1970, our campground invites you to immerse yourself in nature, where each season reveals the stunning landscapes of the Valley. This year, we have only six overnight sites available for rent, with most sites being seasonal in 2025. For a quieter experience, consider visiting during the week when fewer campers are present. Each site is equipped with water and 30 amp electric service (please note that we do not offer 50 amp service). If you need an adapter for a standard household plug, we can provide one upon request. While we do not have sewer hookups, a convenient dump station is available on-site. Our restrooms feature hot water showers, and we kindly ask for your assistance in keeping them clean. We regularly check and maintain these facilities to ensure a pleasant experience for all guests. Firewood is included with your site fee, but we encourage campers to be mindful of their usage.
