Get away from it all when you stay among nature in this secluded off-grid tiny cabin in the forest. Complete with outdoor grill, fire pit, picnic table, well maintained outhouse, miles of trails and a stocked catfish pond.

This is a secluded off grid location without power, wifi, or cell service, so be prepared to UNPLUG and unwind.

Firewood is provided along with one tank of propane to run the indoor camp stove. Five gallons of drinking water are included with coffee and a French press. There is a cooler, so just bring ice for your groceries.

This property is located on the border of VA and NC, 6 miles from Kibler Valley on the Dan River with recreational releases for Class 2 white water kayaking in the summer. We are close to Class 1 kayak and canoe river runs as well in Danbury NC along with  hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains, Hanging Rock State Park and Pilot Mountain State Park. 

We are close to the legendary Mayberry NC , also known as Mt Airy NC and many wineries and breweries in NC and VA. We will send an email with general information and links after you book. 

For now we are only taking one booking at a time so you can choose your spot and have the whole place to yourself and your group up to 16 adults.

There are multiple tent sites as well as room for one or 2 small campers. You can set up your tent under the pavilion or on the band pavilion or string hammocks under the pavilion or from the trees. 

Well behaved dogs welcome, NO GUNS, NO FIREWORKS.

This new tent platform on the dam end of the lake is 16' X 20' .

This spiral staircase is so cool, loft was cozy and comfortable and the dome opens up a little bit for cool breezes

Wonderful kitchen, refrigerator and freezer holds plenty, there are plates and silverware, coffee cups and glasses, a coffee maker, a little toaster oven and a sink. 

School Bus#23 Bunk House

Original 1930's Chicken House still stands on the property. Rustic Off-Grid Camp sites. No running water or electricity inside the Bus. Just solar and battery powered lighting. Fresh clean water Jugged Water inside the Bus and Outdoor toilet and Solar Shower just steps from the door. Just like tent seams window seals can be leaky during a rain storm.

I started purchasing land in 1984 to create a forest animal wildlife preserve. After retiring from my construction business in New York I have returned to the New River to continue the project. Elevation 3000 feet in the mountains of northwest North Carolina.  Site #1 is beside the small stream that is on the property.  Site # 3 now has a electrical outlet and the fee for Site # 3 is $25.00 per day.  Each Site will have an electrical outlet in the future and this will be posted when the outlets have been installed.
