This campsite was truly a very special place. The view and the location could not have been better, right on the Shenandoah River. The host was super responsive. The amenities were great, including kayaks, yard games, lots of chairs, an outdoor shower, an outdoor kitchen, fire pits, and wood available for purchase. There was plenty of space for the 13 kids and 4 adults between our family and another who planned this as a fun getaway for our families. Our dog was able to roam free all weekend, which was a real treat for her too. We were hooked up with our RV and our friends brought multiple tents and there was plenty of space and access to electric and water. Would definitely recommend.

We loved Mother Earth Organic Farm! The farm is beautiful (particularly so in the fall!) and the campsites are well-maintained. We spent two nights there and our kids had a blast. The hosts were great communicators and very friendly in person. We came from DC and it was an easy 1hr drive to reach the farm. I would definitely recommend camping here if you’re looking for a nice escape from the city.

Dee was so kind and her land was the perfect place to spend a fall night. Enjoyed bluegrass at the winery across the street in the evening, and awoke the next morning to a beautiful sunrise and deer grazing right outside the car. You can tell the area is rich with wildlife. Well worth the trip and $. :) Thanks Dee!

I loved tent camping on Dee's land. Dee warmly met me upon arrival. The area was secluded and I felt like I had to whole place to myself. The location was less than 10 minutes from Sweet Run State Park which I had plans to explore. There was also a brewery/winery right up the road that I didn't get the chance to try, but definitely a bonus to this spot!

This was my 2nd visit and we lived it there even more this time. It’s a dream site and all the extra touches (like power, water and a clean porta potty, make it glamoing for sure.

We loved tent camping on Melissa’s land — Blue site is next to Red site which is another plot, pretty close to one another but we had no neighbors. If you’re looking for a more private experience, I suggest booking both sites. The view of the river was absolutely beautiful. Melissa has an awesome set up with grills, and an outside kitchen which came in super handy. She has plenty of kayaks, and a great set up for bonfires. She has extra chairs even out there and picnic tables per site. Great Don John, clean. The best part was the outside shower!! Definitely recommend her land, she was super helpful prior to the trip and during. She also in future will be renting an RV & even has a cabin for rent now which we def plan to come back soon. It’s very local to stores, breweries etc if you’d want to leave site for a bit to grab things. Our friends had such a great time and can’t wait for our next trip here!!

I love how private our campsite felt. The hosts were easy to communicate with but also left us alone. The wildlife was so much fun to see and hear. We even got to see a very large male Turkey. During good weather the light pollution is minimal making it great for star gazing but the lack of cell service makes it hard to use star gazing apps. If you are looking for a place to unplug and be left alone this is it.

This is our second time camping here and we plan on making it an annual thing. Melissa provided clear instructions for a everything so there were no questions to ask. We were able to tube down to River and Trail Outfitters right from our front yard to take the shuttle to the top of the river! We also loved hanging out around the campfire overlooking the river in the evening. Oh, and the new outdoor shower is awesome! Highly recommend!

This was a lovely introduction to river camping for me. As it was my first time exploring a river, I felt safe and capable with everything I needed. Melissa had ample tubes, kayaks, kayak anchors, life vests and an air pump for the tubes as well. She was very communicative and patient with all of my questions. Me and my partner enjoyed making and eating our meals with the ease of a sink and gas grill. Floating around during the day and gathering around the fire pit at night. The outdoor shower also felt private and was a fun experience. We would definitely like to come to this site again. For more privacy I recommend booking both sites, but we managed just fine with our friendly neighbors.

My first stay at a HipCamp site. The host was very helpful and quick to respond. She made sure I had everything I needed in advance. Beautiful, quiet spot on the river. The outdoor shower coming out of a massive tree trunk was very cool. It was a mid week stay and I had it all to myself.

Great open site along the beautiful Shenandoah River.
Plenty of space for two groups and good amenities such as grilles for cooking, kayaks for the river and nice large fire pit. Along with nice lighting around the site for great ambience.

We had such a great time on Melissa’s property. Super private river front site big enough for our 33ft 5th wheel. Water and electric. No sewer but the outdoor shower and kitchen helped us conserve our tank. Outdoor shower was beautiful! Close to town. The road to the site was a teeny bit dicey (steep and windy) but we managed fine. Would love to stay on her property again

The property owner was very nice and accommodating, the place to park was level and mowed, very pretty / isolated woods setting / quiet and peaceful. Entry driveway has some low hanging vines and branches - as low as 7-8 feet. My STO Beast is over 10 feet tall, so there was some slow going to push past. Normal cars should be fine. I was comfortable with my van (based on 19 foot Sprinter), however, I would not have been comfortable driving my previous Class C in there (Winnebago View) - not enough room and the roads are a little rough / narrow for that. Stay was great and just what I was looking for.
