Get away from it all when you stay among nature in this secluded off-grid tiny cabin in the forest. Complete with outdoor grill, fire pit, picnic table, well maintained outhouse, miles of trails and a large swimming or fishing pond (catch and release). This is a secluded off grid location without power, wifi, or cell service, so be prepared to UNPLUG and unwind. Firewood for your first campfire is provided along with one tank of propane to run the indoor camp stove. Five gallons of drinking water are included with coffee and a French press. There is a cooler provided. Remember to bring ice for your groceries and sleeping bags! Please include an extra rental fee of $20 for pets (up to 3). Multiple firewood bundles can be waiting for you at $8 each (a decent fire's worth per bundle). Extra guests (more than 2) are approved on a case by case basis for $10 each per day.

Mother Earth is 3 miles from I-77, exit #8, 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and sits in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The yurt is 15 mins from Mt Airy NC which is a destination for outdoors activities, wineries, breweries, and has a gorgeous downtown area. Fancy Gap is famous for the BRPW, hiking, mountain biking, and all types of outdoor activities. Mother Earth has a walk in shower, soaking tub, bluetooth music, wifi, and a hot tub. a full kitchen and washer and dryer. I provide all your paper products, coffees, creamer, sugar, shower products and more. it’s in a wooded area with nice views and wildlife in abundance. This yurt is comfortable all year long with a minisplit for heat and air conditioning, and a propane fireplace. This yurt has easy access and parking right in front. The deck is gated for toddlers and pets. Check out the secluded porch swing underneath. Our pet fee is an additional $25 left on the counter. Stargazing is at its best here, and lots of back roads to walk and explore. Check out Beamers Knob for a gorgeous long range view, about a mile from the yurt. It’s breathtaking! This yurt also has a generator to keep things going, in case of a power failure due to inclement weather.

What makes W.T. Farm special is the diversity of textures of the landscape. We have great mountain top views, as well as, a deep holler with cliffs, rock outcroppings, and waterfalls. The fields are full of fruit and nut trees and there are 5 ponds. Each of these supports its own flora and fauna. I acquired stewardship of this land 35 years ago and have developed perennial orchards wherever possible. I started with pears and have branched out into pawpaws, apples, persimmons, currants, black walnuts etc. and I boast that I planted the first commercial hickory oil orchard in the world. I am an eccentric horticulturalist and graft cultivar varieties onto existing trees like oaks, hickories, black walnuts, and even the maligned invasive honeysuckle, autumn olive and multiflora rose. Just last year I bought an adjoining farm that opened up 50 acres of more orchard planting. It is on top of the mountain and offers an expansive view of the valley and ridge system that defines our region. Funny thing is that because the land between the old farm and the new farm is divided by cliffs in the holler the only way to get from one to the other is a 12 minute drive or vigorous hiking. On this new land is a historic log cabin I am renovating that is said to be one of the original settler's cabin on the mountain. Because of the amount of tree fruit I grow and the varied landscape, there is a rich diversity of birds and animals to be seen. One of my favorite walks is along the cliffs to the top waterfall where there is a sweet wading pool. I have also built a number of ponds and four of them are quite swimmable. One has a dock and is where we spend much summer time refreshing and frolicking. The farm is also a small (very small) licensed farm winery and we make and sell traditional hard cider from our apples and pears. Our cider can be purchased along with our nut oils and flours and other farm produce you may not be familiar with. We live to eat. Coming here is a gastronomical adventure! I run the Acornucopia project from here and from it we are developing a foragers network that would very much suit the lifestyle of hipcampers. We pay foragers for wild nuts they gather. We had a great time on Aprils property. We were secluded with Mountain View's in every direction, it was breathtaking. Very quiet and well maintained spot. April and her husband were some of the kindest people we've met. They ley my kids feed the chickens and sheep and their dogs were the best, the kids played with them a lot. Would DEF stay here again.

We had a great time staying here for the weekend!! It had everything we needed and felt incredibly private while also not completely isolated. The host is very responsive to any questions and the location is great. We’ve stayed at this property before, and it continues to be one of our favorite spots. The mountaintop setting is absolutely gorgeous, with wide-open views that make the stay feel both peaceful and memorable. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. April and Carl were incredibly kind and considerate in helping us with a change of plans and that kind of thoughtfulness says a lot about the owners and how much they care about the experience of their guests. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway with amazing views and genuinely wonderful hosts.

Weekend Trip to Stoney Creek Campground

#5 is a great spot! We had enough space to set up a tailgate tent with our vehicle. The spot is set up on high ground so there's plenty of space for rain water to drain away. The spot also overlooks a stream though we didn't venture out to it. Make sure to read Chris' directions for how to find the campsite so you don't miss the driveway you should take to enter the property. The bathroom and shower were adequate and about a 2 minute walk from #5. All in all, great place and I would stay again if I'm in the area.
