One mile down the road from the farm is the Virginia Creeper Trail, renowned for biking, but as a multi-use trail, you can also enjoy walking, running, horseback riding, fishing, cross country skiing, and geocaching.
South Holston Lake is only minutes away by vehicle, with two public access boating ramps 10 to 20 minutes away.
For a drink by the water, head to Abingdon Vineyards- only 10 minutes away.
Access to the Appalachian Trail is only 20 minutes away in Damascus.
We became caretakers of this lovely property in June of 2021, moving from our existing farm, 45 minutes away. When we got it, it was a blank slate of a hayfield, and we have spent the summer laying infrastructure so that we may grow our cut-flower, honey, and vegetable business.

Glamping
Glamping in one of our three amazing luxury tents – located right on the river, the creek or tucked away in the mountains – is the ultimate in camping meets comfort. All three locations are nestled up against our farm and have full access to the river and gathering spots. Tents have their own private restroom with double compost toilets and an off grid hot shower heated by propane.
Barnyard
Staying overnight in our barnyard camper gives you the complete farm life experience. You will be staying right in the middle of our farm—between our barn and our milking parlor—surrounded by chickens, turkeys, and guinea hens! Inside your camper, you will have running water, a restroom, and a small kitchen. If you’re curious about life on a family farm or just want to get some good quality time in with farm animals, this is the place to stay.
Boondocking
Your own RV is welcome to park riverside, we currently do not have hookups so you will be dry camping. You are also welcome to use our fire pit and restrooms if they are available, as guests staying in our glamping tents will have the option to reserve them. The restrooms have double compost toilets and an off grid hot shower heated by propane. You can check with us prior to making your reservation to see if other guests have already reserved these amenities for their stay.

Classic tent camping is a blast here! You can bring your own tent or rent one from us. This is the ultimate experience for living off the land and reconnecting with nature. You will have your own fire pit, and you will be surrounded by an abundance of wildlife.
When you stay overnight with us here on the farm you become part of our family. We want to make sure that you not only unwind but also get to take advantage of all the amazing things this beautiful homestead has to offer. You will have direct access to the river for kayaking, tubing, fishing, swimming, hiking, or just sitting along the bank enjoying the fresh air. Our family’s favorite activity is gathering by the fire pit at night, listening to the river, and gazing at the stars, which shine brighter here than anywhere we’ve ever been. We would love to share everything this peaceful place has with you.
Waking up by the river is rejuvenating and is the perfect way to start your day as you reconnect with nature. While you’re perfectly welcome to cook all of your meals over a campfire for the full “roughing it” experience, we understand that there are times when you just want to kick back and relax. With that in mind, we also offer hot, home cooked family meals, delivered directly to your door upon request and at an additional expense.

Absolutely beautiful spot in the mountains! Fell asleep to the sound of the creek rambling along beside us. Make sure you bring everything you need because you really are in the middle of nowhere (although Robert did offer extra blankets and firewood) if you are looking for a peaceful retreat.. this is it.

What an epic place! They were so welcoming, accommodating, kind, and this was a safe place and I slept very good and pulled out the next morning and continued on. If I'm ever this way again I'll be sure to call on them to stay again!

We loved our stay here! We were in an area just to ourselves and even our own bath house. The bathroom and shower were made out of a horse trailer and were very clean and had hot water! They were very nice and explained to us how to use their facilities. We enjoyed being able to make our dinner by the river in the new fire pit. They even provided fire wood and kindling! It felt very private and was a big site to stay at. This was definitely my favorite place I have stayed at to camp and we would definitely come back!

I had a little problem finding his land, so glad I seen the tubing signs on the entrance to his land. I stayed 3 nights and it was awesome. I was the only camper there. He was very nice to let me join a group that has signed up to go tubing and that was very exciting and fun!! He was a good host and would recommend anyone to camp there and take advantage of tubing down the river!!!😎

Miss Martha was an extremely nice and very friendly hostess. Her property is very clean, well maintained and in my wife's opinion adorable. She has 2 helpers, orlowa and oreo that will happily take your trash out for you, just don't ask where because orlowa doesn't even know. Lol. But all jokes aside, very nice place to stay, miss Martha is very accommodating and has many things you may have forgotten for you trip. I highly recommend it if your a first time camper like myself and I will definitely be back!

First off, Martha "Mammaw" is an excellent communicator. I called to let her know I has missed my turnoff, and she quickly came to lead me to the "Holler". Natural beauty and whimsical property. The camping spots are rustic and primitive. Martha offered me every amenity and even offered to fill a solar bag up with hot water if we wanted to shower. Work is being done to tidy up after Helene. Fallen trees have been cleared and the camping sites are clean. We fell in love with the history of the property. Its clear that Martha is in love with the land and is happy to share it with you. She showed us the creek where she used to play in as a child and showed my son some baby crawdads and baby salamanders. The highlight of our visit, besides Martha, was meeting Winston.....a blind senior, rescue horse. He is amazing, gentle, and patient. We gave him some carrots that we brought and quickly made friends. I didn't see any Sasquatch in the area this time, but maybe next. My son already wants to go back.

We enjoyed a perfect 2 day stay at this gentle and peaceful farm. Being 1 mile from a trail head for the VA Creeper Trail, was why we chose it The welcome by lots of kitties, chickens and the Gentle giant dog made us feel right at home. While we explored down the hill towards the creek, we found and took advantage of the special place with chairs available. Also, the access to a very nice bathroom was a bonus on top of having power and water hookups at our site. Nicest folks you could ask for! I thank them all and wish them all the best.

Absolutely wonderful place to camp. We were the only ones there and had the whole field to ourselves. Know that the best camping spots are at the back of the farm. Loved the kitties too!!

Ginny was awesome. Very kind and helpful. Loved Percy the Great Pyrenees. I bought a sticker with his picture that’s now on my camper. There were lots of beautiful chickens and quite a few cats. Everyone gets along together. Close proximity to Damascus and Abingdon. Will stay here again in the future.
