Welcome to Bedrock Base Camp, where adventure meets comfort in the heart of stunning Redrock country. Our unique glamping experience offers a serene and secluded getaway. Whether you are enjoying the seclusion of our glamping tents on the upper plateau or the RV experience alongside the meandering Dolores River, Bedrock Base Camp (BBC) is perfect for groups looking to reconnect with nature and each other. Whether you're planning a retreat for yogis, a family reunion, night sky watchers, weddings, motorcyclists, church members, students, or even a movie shoot, the BBC provides an ideal backdrop for your adventures.
Accommodations:
We can accommodate RVs, DIY tents, and offer Glamping tents thus adding flexibility to your group's camping arrangements.
Our 160-acre property features
• 10 Glamping tents with beds and an above-ground fire pit on the upper plateau. No water or power. 1 dry flush toilet. (Walking or unimproved SUV access only)
• 9 RV sites with power (30-50 amp) on the lower section near Delores River. (7 pull-throughs & 2 back-ins.) Power only (NO water or dumping)
• Electricity: The RV area has electricity, allowing Glampers to charge essential devices.
• Restrooms: We have one dry flush restroom above in the Glamping tent area and a one porta pottie near the river in the lower section.
• DIY Dry camping for groups or individuals with their own camping tents and gear.
Glamping Tents:
The Glamping tents are perched on a beautiful plateau overlooking the valley and river below. Each tent is nestled under an additional canvas shade, supported by sturdy wood poles. This design not only enhances the rustic charm but also provides extra protection from the elements, ensuring a comfortable stay regardless of the weather.
Inside each tent, you'll find a cozy queen bed and a couch that converts into a bunk bed with two twin beds, accommodating up to four guests per tent. Outside of each tent, you’ll find comfortable Adirondack chairs and an above-ground firepit, perfect for cooking or just for unwinding after a day of exploration.
Glamping Tent Access:
Our desire is to keep our property as natural, as possible. The Glamping area is meant to emulate a rural village existing in a far-off country with only a footpath to access.
We prefer that the tent sites be accessed by foot. Either a steep climb of about 40 “stairs” or an easier walk around of about 650 yards.
There is an unimproved access road leading to the tents that might be accessible by an AWD SUV but is unadvisable for cars or street motorcycles.
** If you cannot backpack or don’t wish to manage the steep steps or the walk around to the tents or do not have a high clearance 4wd vehicle

What to Bring to Glamping Tents:
To fully enjoy your stay in the BBC Glamping tents, please bring what you would pack if you were backpacking. (minus the tent and bed)

• Sleeping bags for bunks
• Fire pits have grates for grilling or heating water
Bring needed pots, pans, and utensils.
• Firewood (No gathering wood on site!)

What not to bring
• No pets, Vaping, or Smoking (of any kind) allowed in the Glamping tents
Enjoy Quiet time and dark skies:
No electronics that could disturb others or artificial light beyond flashlights from 1 hour after sunset to 8 am.
Activities and Surroundings:
Our expansive camp offers plenty of space for larger groups and is surrounded by breathtaking Redrock landscapes. Explore the wonderful hiking and biking trails nearby, or the hundreds of miles of UTV trails including the Rim Rocker Trail. Or make Bedrock your base camp as you enjoy dozens of day trips to beautiful and bucket-list-worthy locations. Or simply relax and take in the scenic views. Reflect on natural and human history. Go back in time and find a short walk to petroglyphs, then enjoy the sunset as you gaze across the Dolores River which runs through the property. Then go even further back in time and be amazed at the Dark Sky star gazing.
With no WIFI and very spotty cell service to distract you, Bedrock Base Camp is an ideal place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature and your companions.
Purpose:
We established Bedrock Base Camp to support our research efforts at www.WHOlives.org The primary purpose of the property is to bring awareness to the solvable problems that still exist in developing countries around the world and to provide a location and support to college students, engineers, and inventors who have an interest or ideas on how to make our small world a little better and safer place to live.
The BBC is an ideal place where anyone can experiment and deploy their ideas on how to improve dry farming, housing, water collection, transportation, emergency shelters, rural economics, water purification, and a myriad of other ideas just waiting to be discovered.
We also know that everyday people have some of the greatest ideas, so we also challenge our visitors to think about how they might go about changing the world. It was this free-flowing of ideas that led to the invention of the award-winning “Village Drill” which has drilled over 14,000 wells worldwide, bringing clean, lifesaving water to over 13 million people.

• Campfires are only allowed in designated areas and above-ground pits. Extinguish when unattended.
