This Outpost and campground is located on 300 acres of private property surrounded by park and public land. It has been here for over 30 years in some form or another. We are Caleb & Amber who enjoyed managing this little oasis in the middle of the desert from March to June of 2017 when we decided to purchase the business & make it our own. This is a dry, rugged campground with a bathhouse that provides coin operated showers and flush toilets. In addition there is little old rustic camp store placed in the middle of nowhere where we provide fuel, snacks, firewood, ice, showers, cold drinks & more. If you are looking for a more private site with lots of space and shade, book our Small Group at the Rocks. For a warmer stay during the cooler months book one of our Glamping Tents listed. We have the larger, and spacious tent in the grove of the Juniper Trees (which is also amazing in the warmer season) and rent a heater from us inside the general/camp store. Please check with us on fire restrictions, hipcamp is often wrong on their assumptions, we rarely have fire restrictions. BE SURE TO GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME TO CHECK IN NO LATER THAN 5PM. It was a full hookup site. We found it to be private and seamless experience. The road noise was a bit more than anticipated but it’s quieter at night and sleeping was not an issue. . The main building had really nice public areas and bathrooms. It’s solid for the price and I went like I received a fair deal.

This was one of the most unforgettable stays of our lives! Incredible climbing up the rocks that hugged our campsite to watch the sunset over Canyonlands. Caleb and Amber were nothing but helpful and in addition to stewarding this magical place, run a very cool little shop. We loved seeing Amber’s ceramics and watercolors there and picking up special camp treats.

It is absolutely beautiful at the Needle’s Outpost. You have a the perfect views into Canyonland and a beautiful red “hill” behind you. We didn’t use the bathrooms so I can’t comment on them, but I was so excited to have a recycling option. Amber was very welcoming and she and her husband were working hard to keep everything nice. We had a moment of trepidation taking our trailer through a bit of sand to get to our spot, but had no issues. It was amazing to be somewhere so silent. Canyonland in general, onthe Needles side, was very quiet. We were able to ride our bikes to the very end and encountered very few cars. There were some vehicles at most of the trails. It did make me sad that people don’t realize the stunning beauty of the Needles area. It’s well worth the trip!
