The property is a short 6 mile drive from the quaint town of Torrey, host of the annual Fort Desolation Festival and 15 miles by car from Capitol Reef National Park. Our location provides RV travelers with an ideal base camp for exploring the natural wonders of this region of Southern Utah and the majestic Boulder Mountain. The property consists of mostly pasture land, desert sage, pinyon pine trees and panoramic mountain views. The ranch is surrounded by some of the most amazing scenery anywhere and endless outdoor opportunities! We have a single (self check-in) RV/trailer/van parking area complete with water, power, sewer, WiFi and picnic table. All guests MUST have their own bathroom, clean up after pets and pack out any trash. We are unable to accommodate tent or car camping anywhere on the property unless you are with a group that has a trailer or RV equipped with a bathroom available for use during your stay and no open wood burning fires are permitted at this time. Beautiful and peaceful setting. Very clear directions and instructions. It was wonderful having full hook-up! And an extra nice surprise to receive a gift of coffee! Thank you! It was close to the parks we wanted to visit and our dog enjoyed some off-leash time with us. We very much enjoyed our stay there and most definitely would stay again.

Privacy and views were great. The hookups were straightforward (especially once I got the longer connector hose that was available to borrow) and well maintained. The host qas responsive and helpful but not intrusive. Five stars... And thousands more to see above with the great dark sky conditions. My wife and I loved staying here.

A beautiful and peaceful spot! A great location for stargazing and enjoying your morning coffee while hearing the birds sing and cows mooing in the distance. The host provided excellent directions and offered detailed information. They also graciously provided us with a bag of local coffee to enjoy. Very thoughtful. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful peaceful spot. Minor road noise, but not intrusive. Overall it feels isolated with no near neighbors. Great view across the pasture to Boulder Mountain. Hookups worked well. Easy entry. We love staying here for a few days every year to do hikes in Capitol Reef and Boulder Mtn, as well as biking . Always worth the drive to Boulder for a dinner at Hells Backbone Grill.

It was so nice to have a private spot to go to. We travel with our dogs and a cat and at regular rv parks or campgrounds the dogs would hear every movement. ROAD TO SUN RANCH WAad private with nice views. They even left us coffee, which was great.

If you like a challenging drive to the campsite, then this is for you. The last uphill stretch might be difficult if in muddy conditions. The wind chime seemed to have kept all animals and birds away. There was fire that ravaged the mountain on one side of the site. Didn’t stay the night due to the wind chime constantly making noise.

We had a great 6 night stay with our 2 dogs at Road to the Sun Ranch. It was very private, a good respite from our days in Capitol Reef National Park. There are a number of places near the location (and outside the Park) for us to give our dogs exercise before we headed out for our own adventures.

This is our second visit to this beautiful property! It is very private and has all the camping necessities- sewer, water and electricity. The site is very clean. It is spacious and there is plenty of room for doggies to run and have a little freedom. We enjoyed just spending the afternoons - after hiking in nearby Capitol Reef - just enjoying relaxation time! Zach is a great host. He communicates well and is very accommodating. We will definitely be back again!
