Romantic camping near Red Oak

Truly the most special of any campsite I had the pleasure of visiting this summer. Imagine the coolest home you could think of, with so much character and a clubhouse… and the host built it all himself! Barry is so kind and cool and considerate, I only wish I had planned to stay longer than overnight.

Had such a great time! Barry is a wonderful host- had a nice campfire and jam sess with Barry and the other campers- best escape from the world for a little! Can’t wait to return.

3 nights at Liberty Hill Hideaway Lake Retreat

An amazing campsite! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with spacious, level sites that offer just the right mix of privacy and accessibility. The amenities are truly top-notch! Will definitely recommend and be back!

What a delightful oasis in the middle of East Texas! We stayed in the Doris, and it was perfect for a little getaway for me and my 11 year-old.

4 nights at Liberty Hill Hideaway Lake Retreat

We loved staying here and will definitely be back with our kids! The water was so nice and not crowded at all. The kayaks were great. We spent hours out on the water fishing. Can’t wait to be able to come back.

We had a great time at the daisy! It is cozy, the surrounding nature is beautiful, and Barry is so welcoming. He set up our fire, and sang/played guitar at our camp spot while our three-year-old danced around. He is genuinely interested in getting to know people. I highly recommend! I know we will be back :) side note – it is not far from Waco and there’s a lot to do there if you’re looking for fun activities!

We loved camping at Barry’s property. He was so kind & welcoming. The spot was gorgeous & had just enough privacy backing up to the creek. We took a nice swim in the lake to cool off. The sunset view from the roof deck was incredible.

The ground was gorgeous, the site itself was clean, level, and secluded. The hiking trails were great. The bath house was WONDERFUL.

We had a wonderful weekend at Liberty Hill! Barry is a wonderful host and his property is beautiful. Very relaxing and look forward to visiting in the future. Recommend 100%!

We would definitely be back. Berry was so attentive to us especially because there was a storm coming so he gave us options to move his truck so we can cook under the car port with a grill he has to provide for us as well as a fire pit shared. He also welcomed everyone else to do this as well. He checked in on us when we got there to make sure we were situated and was so attentive to all guest who were there. It is a beautiful peaceful place to camp and enjoy nature. Lake was walking distance from the camp site. Kayaks available as well if needed. Lush green and beautiful flowers and garden surrounding the place. Beautiful stars at night as well, no need to have a telescope it is dark enough to see with naked eyes. Thank you Berry for your hospitality we appreciate you.

The site was great on privacy, space, and cleanliness.

Stayed in RV #1. Great level spot with fire pit and picnic table. Bathhouse was a super short walk away which was a nice surprise. Allison and her family were very welcoming. River, their dog, always greeted you with excitement when you left the bathhouse. The property has a nice 1 mile trail with a little pond and some good trails. Definitely would stay here again. The tiny house bungalows looked very cute as well. If you are car camping or have a rooftop tent most of the tent sites would technically work as well.

This was our second time at Liberty Hill Hideaway. We’ve been trying to make it back since our first trip and will be going back again. Barry has whatever you’re looking for there. As glamping or dispersed as you want. It’s a great spot to get away and relax. The best thing about this place is Barry, he’s an amazing host and couldn’t be more welcoming and accommodating.

We had a great camping experience here on the property. It was very beautiful, quiet and with a wonderful host. The shower and bathroom were very clean as well. Would 100% stay here again if our future adventures brings us close to this location.

I loved my stay at the Daisy camper with my two pups. Barry is so welcoming and kind. The neighborhood dog Buster was adorable and so sweet and played well with my dogs. I would definitely recommend this stay!

This is the second time we’ve been here and it was a great as the first! It’s an amazing gem and are so happy to have found Barry’s place!

I had such a wonderful time visiting this campsite! Barry the host was just wonderful, extremely accommodating and great company. I would recommend a stay here to anyone! My boyfriend and I did a little fishing, some swimming, enjoyed music by campfire but still got to catch the clippers game ;) perfect glamping/getaway destination!
