There is over a quarter mile of Brazos riverfront property although you cannot get to the river on all of it due to it being in its natural state. There is a beach at the main camp that provides easy in and out of the water. the water depth varies with the rainfall but is usually between 2-4 feet deep.

For bigger water and easy access to Lake Ray Roberts State Park, head over to the Johnson Branch of Lake Ray Roberts which is less than 15 minutes away.
We are located next door to 555 Vineyard and the Vineyard Tasting room. Also, check out downtown Valley View with local restaurants including Blue Bonnet Cafe, York N Ale, Hess Meat Market, and Firelight Vineyard just 7 minutes away. Edge of the Lake Vineyard is also 7 minutes away.
Drinking water is available at the campsites from a water hydrant. No electricity is available at campsites. There are no bathroom amenities here. Guests will need to be self-contained, take waste with them and leave no trace.

I loved fishing on Susan’s land. Beautiful day in late December, caught lots of fish. Spend the day kayaking around looking for the ultimate big bass. Finally, caught the big one right before I packed up. My two dogs had the best time running and swimming for hours. I was able to meet Susan and her husband, super nice people. I would highly recommend this place.

Had a wonderful last minute visit camping with my two dogs and cat. The location was easy to get to and on site directions were straightforward and accurate. Conveniently located about 30mins outside of Weatherford. Hosts were friendly and helpful. All the primitive sites were labeled and each has a picnic table and fire ring. Sites are spaced out similar to what you would see at a state park. We stayed at “the point” right on the river bank. It was beautiful and had access to the water. I saw another review about neighbors lights and dogs bark; I am going to assume they stayed in the same site as us because it’s the farthest back on Gypsy moon also making it the closest to the neighboring rv park. I did notice the lights but you could easily reposition to avoid them and the dogs barked when we first got there and were setting up but then settled. Neither bothered us nor are these things in control of the hosts. Shower and bathroom in good working condition. Lots of chickens, geese and goats out near the rvs but none wandered over to primitive camping. Didn’t go in or inquire about bait shop so nothing to review but did see firewood for sale. Overall very good value for the price and I will gladly return if I’m in the area again.

We loved tent camping on Amy's land! Everyone very kind and the area is beautiful and relaxing we had a wonderful time fishing and just being outdoors in nature. It reminded me of childhood spent on my grandparents farm. With all the goats, chickens and ducks etc.

Amy's place is always a welcome reprieve from the world. Situated on a nice piece of property along the river, it is a very chill vibe. If you are tent camping, I recommend the Far Far Away site. This is my second time here, and it's apparent that continued improvements have been made. She did have to shut down the honor system store because.... well, people suck. And I hate that for Amy, because she is such a sweet lady. But I understand the decision.
If you come here, please be kind, respectful, and pick up any trash you see from previous campers.

I loved the dispersed tent camping area, a perfect place for my dog to run around and I could see how it’d be easy for a large group! And the flexibility of being able to go to the tasting room up the hill to grab a wine bottle or two cannot be overstated. Very nice, would recommend.

I loved camping at the 4R Winery! Getting in and out was super easy. The pdf info pack provided on their website was really helpful in picking out the right option for us and having the firewood included in the fee was great.
I really appreciate the dispersed camping in a state that is severely lacking. There are two things I would say to be aware of if you are looking to do dispersed camping. 1) The field is large but most of it doesn’t have shade so realistically, spots are a bit limited, and 2) there is nothing between you and other campers so even though there is decent distance between you, you can see and hear everything from neighbors.
Also be aware that you are in wind turbine country and when the weather is right, you hear the whoosh whoosh of the blades from the nearest turbine. I got used to it about an hour after laying down to sleep lol.
Other than that, it was great. Beautiful land, gorgeous starry sky and nature moving around you.
I’d definitely stay there again!

We stayed at 4R Ranch Winery for our very first Hipcamp trip, and it couldn’t have been better. The setting was absolutely beautiful — surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, and incredible views that made every moment feel peaceful and special.
Their wine was fantastic, the food was great, and the staff at the tasting room were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
If you’re looking for a scenic getaway with amazing wine, delicious food, and warm hospitality, this place is a must-visit. We can’t wait to come back! 🍷🌿

This was our first camping trip - my wife and I since we’ve become empty nesters. We bought a new camper and tried it out only about an hour and a half from home. We wanted to go to Oktoberfest in Munster and stayed at the 4R Ranch. Walt took exceptionally good care of us and we had a fantastic time. Not only was the food and wine delicious, the winery is a beautiful, relaxing, scenic and a true Texas gem. We will definitely stay here again in the Hill country of North Texas!

This place was more than I could've imagined. It was beautiful, quiet, spacious, & had everything I needed. I camped alone for the first time as a woman & I felt completely safe at all times. Walt made me feel welcomed & was an amazing host. The fact that you have beautiful scenery, plus a shower, a restroom, wifi, & a place to charge your electronics all for only $7 a day can’t be beaten. If you’re thinking about booking, go ahead & do it. You’ll be glad that you did.
