Our camping sites offer the chance to really dive into nature with access to beautiful trees and the san gabriel river while still being just a few minutes walk away from electricity and running water. Camp right underneath our beautiful "Mother Tree" which captures the attention of all of our campers and trail ride participants. Book a trail ride or animal experience during your stay to get the full working farm experience. Enjoy our newly renovated communal Pavillion which offers access to 4 different kind of grills, a brick pizza oven, a propane firepit table, games, a microwave, coffee maker, and a fridge stocked with drinks to purchase. Well water is available from the sink located near the bathroom. Please remember, for the safety and comfort of our animals and guests, unsupervised interactions with our animals are not permitted. All animal interactions must be scheduled and supervised by our experienced staff. Also please remember that while our farm is a total of 30 acres, only about 1/3 of that is available for open use by campers, the rest house our beautiful horses and other animals. Our farm is situated just a short drive from local attractions. We are 10 miles from the Historic Georgetown Square, 11.2 miles from the serene Blue Hole, and 38 miles from the hustle and bustle of downtown Austin. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We offer a self-serve farm stand for our customers with fresh eggs, jelly and even pasture raised chicken - all produced on the farm. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! There is road noise. Highway 29 can be busy at times, despite being a two-lane road. Quiet hours are after 10 pm Sunday - Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday. Access to our river site is included in your camping fee. This secluded hike-to (~ 1-2 minute walk) site is peaceful with limestone cliff views and no visible homes or signs of civilization. The trail head is accessed by a dirt road that winds around our corn field and into the woods, and can be accessed by any vehicle in normal weather conditions. We will provide warning/refunds if the river road becomes 4x4 only. Fishing is allowed with a valid Texas fishing license. There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please (day or night!).

Great private spot with awesome views and some really cute animals around the property. It was peaceful for the most part, though the dog did bark quite a bit in the evening. Still, overall a good stay, and I would stay again.

This is a farm. For those that enjoy dispersed camping, this is it. No one else there so I had the run of the place. As described, I was met by the owner as I came up the drive, got a quick property tour and history, met the new baby pigs, was greeted by chickens and the old brown farm dog that came to check on me a couple of times. Fire pits were located throughout the property with plenty of firewood around for the choosing. Very clean portapotty. They have showers but I didn’t use them so I can’t comment. The main drawback is the proximity to Hwy 29. As noted in the description, it is not unnoticeable but by about 6:30 or 7, it calmed down a lot. I was just there on a spur of the moment , quick, overnighter to check the place out and to field test a couple of new pieces of camping equipment. It’s only a 15 mile trip from my home, so nice and easy. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. I’ve had a couple of questionable Hipcamp experiences, but this was not one of them . I can say I’ll probably be back the next time I need to get out or to put a new camping toy to work.

My friends and I had an absolute blast on the pasture mingle campsite. I will say though, if you’re looking for a lot of privacy, you’ll probably want to go with the mother tree location. Since this campsite is next to the barn where horse rides begin, there were people coming in and out a lot during our stay. Didn’t bother us, and we preferred being right up next to the horses, with two sheep roaming and playing around for us to watch. I’d recommend this spot to families with kids who like animals, and the mother tree location for people who want more of the private river spot. Overall we were very pleased.

This site was great! A huge plus was that they brought us firewood both nights that we stayed and saved me a lot of chopping time. The fire pit supplied was also very nice. They were very friendly and the donkey they had also seemed to get along great when it met our dogs.

Daniel's Bluebonnet campsite is nicely situated near the flush toilet/shower and water spicket. The cows and donkey visited us frequently - loved it. Hiking through the back property was peaceful and beautiful. There was occasional road noise mixed with the coyote yips but not enough to matter. Great fire pit/grill! Daniel responding immediately when we needed anything. If you think the well water has an odd aroma, ask Daniel about the water in that area. We enjoyed conversing with him.

My friends and I had such a lovely time at the McDonald farm. The hosts were incredibly kind and communicative, and even gifted us spiced pecans from their land, which were delicious. Being around the farm animals was such a treat (we even got to meet two day-old baby piglets!), and the swimming area was sooo refreshing and calming. A couple things to be mindful of: the property is quite close to a busy road, so you can hear some traffic noise. It didn’t ruin our experience, but it is helpful to know if you’re looking for total quiet. There is also no table at the campsites (that we knew of), so definitely bring one. The kitchen and coffee area were not available during our stay, though it seems like it may be opening soon. Overall, we had a wonderful time and there is so much to love about this charming farm. Btw - make sure to stop at the farm stand...the whole chicken and mulberry syrup were DELICIOUS! Thanks so much :)

The place was exactly as described. Fantastic layout, we really felt all by ourselves at the Juniper Campsite. The owner was very nice and showed our kids how they feed the cows, they had such a nice time. I would recommend anyone wanting to get away, and get jealous of the beautiful setup the owners have here check it out :)

My girlfriend and I had a magical weekend at the ranch. It was easy to find- close to Georgetown which has a nice market on Saturdays- yet remote enough to stargaze. We rode horses and played with the goats, ponies, and a litter of 8 7-week old puppies. At night the hosts brought us plenty of firewood for our spot near the horse pasture. It was a very fun and friendly experience all around.

We had a great time staying at Daniel's glamping site, about 15 miles from the entry to Colorado bend State park. The campsite and tent were clean and tidy and secluded in a cedar grove, with solar lights and a fire pit (wood included) and grill for cooking. There was a couple hundred yards walk to a full bathroom with a shower and wifi. An extra tent with cots and bedding was also available for the kids, and was setup prior to arrival. Overall a wonderful time, perfect for a short weekend at the park, and would absolutely stay again. Thanks Danny!

Beautiful land, such a quiet and peaceful place. Perfect for a visit to Colorado Bend. Also a nice place to wander around and explore. Amazing host. Arrived in the middle of a downpour and Daniel helped us upgrade to the glampsite so we didn't have to set up in the rain. The water pump hose that extends across the campsite is especially brilliant.

Daniel and his brother were very friendly. He even trimmed the trees for us after he saw us struggling to back our truck into the spot. The spot was beautiful! We did leave early due to getting rained out, but that was just bad luck on our part. We enjoyed the time we spent here.
