Located just 2 miles off I-10, 8 miles to the West of Sierra Blanca, and 80 miles South/South-East of El Paso. This property is truly a part of the "OLD WEST". Sierra Blanca was named after Sierra Blanca Mountain, just North-West of town. The town came into existence when competing railroads for a second (Southern) transcontinental railroad line came within 10 miles of one another in 1881. Jay Gould, famous railroad magnate and robber baron, drove a silver spike commemorating the event on Dec. 15th 1881. The town sprang up around that spot, although the population didn't reach 350 people until 1914. It is best described as grazing land that is flat to slightly sloping terrain covered with desert sagebrush and grasses. Learn more about this land: Primitive campsites offer nice views, solitude, and a small flat space to set up camp next to your vehicle. No shade, toilets (bring your own), or other amenities are provided at this time but are in the works. Sierra Blanca has mild winters and very hot summers but the desert can get cold at night. The weather is generally sunny but come prepared for changing conditions. This is not a commercial campground. Site is great for large groups. Larger RVs have trouble turning or parking so please no rvs over 26 ft. Bring your own toilet. Wildlife include rabbits and hares, javelina, woodcock, teal, sandhill crane, quail, pronghorn, mule deer, duck, dove, rattlesnake, rails, gallinules, and moorehens, toads and a variety of lizards. We had an excellent time staying here for a night. We were passing through and spending a day at Guadalupe, so this site was perfect for three folks in one truck with two tents. We found the site easily, quickly set up on good flat ground, and enjoyed a lovely sunset. 10/10 would return!

P>T Ranch was a perfect stay for me and my dogs while we were passing thru! Lots of wide open spaces, and beautiful views. The entrance is a small gravel drive off the HWY with no lighting so just be mindful of this if you’re arriving after dark. Louise was so helpful and checked in with me shortly after arrival. I would absolutely recommend if you’re in West Texas! It’s also very close to Guadalupe Mountain NP!

Had a nice peaceful night of star gazing on Sherry’s land. The property is easy to find and just far enough away from Hwy 62 that traffic noise isn’t a problem. It’s just a short drive to either Guadalupe Mountains National Park or Hueco Tanks State Historic Site. Plenty to see and do in the area. Will definitely be back.

We had a view from all directions of mountians and rock formations. You really felt removed from the world out there. We had site 43 which had hookups ( we were communicated ahead of time that 50 amp may not work but 30 amps did fine would which was good for us) the site was a bit odd shaped for hookup but nice size and my Australian Shepherd enjoyed getting out and running a bit to release his Zoomies. It is very outside of El Paso and make sure you follow their directions they send and not your GPS. This was a great experience!

Weekend Trip to Annie’s Outpost

I booked this Hipcamp last minute after I couldn’t find one site I had booked. I am SO GLAD because this one was SO GREAT! The host responded promptly to my concerns. I had a hard time finding the site at first but eventually noticed that the pictures gave better landmarks. The site had solar lights to help navigate big divots in the ground (oh yeah, drive SLOW). The sky was unbelievable and the stars in the middle of the night were gorgeous. 15/10

The stars were amazing! It was great to get away from city lights. There were no utilities as expected. The site was level and easy to access. Just look for the wood sign with the address number. It blends in. We passed it and had to back up. There's no place to turn around.

I loved this RV/campsite!!!! Excellent all around! Tough place to keep a safe eye on younger kids, but above 10 years old is 👌! Extremely cean bathrooms and wonderful, hot shower (bring $1 or $5 bills for shower - $1 = 1.5 min for shower 😉 The view is 💯. Huge community fireplace with detailed instructions everywhere of their reasonable, self-responsibke expectations while on property. Soooo quiet out there!!! Will be back, no question! 😄🙌
