Our inspiration for Back Forty RV Park comes from our Dad, JT Lindsey. J.T. and wife Lucille bought these 40 acres of land in 1972, moved their family into the farm house desperately needing attention, and raised their three children here. JT worked his entire life in agriculture as a farmer and cattle rancher. He was smart, hard working, and very mechanically inclined-he could fix anything! He was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Nascar, and a good cup of coffee, but he loved his family the most. Summer vacation was RVing in Colorado, New Mexico, Tennessee, Alabama, South Dakota and Florida but only after harvest was done and the fields were plowed! Daddy was taken from us way too soon, but his love and affection for his family has remained with us through the years. His image appears in our signs and logos taken from our favorite photo. It was such a cool experience to hear cattle milling around my car and hear the coyotes yipping all night. Check in was easy and Lana was super responsive and lovely! I’d stay again in a heartbeat!

Lana was an exceptional host, and the bunkhouse was cozy and comfortable. I was greeted by horses when I arrived and woke up to a gorgeous sunrise. I'm sad I couldn't stay longer as this place has so much to offer! Tip: follow the written directions on how to get there, not the coordinates given by Hipcamp. I highly recommend this stay!

This is a beautiful space, not far from the highway. Peaceful, and quiet, except for the abundance of wildlife. We loved being among the cows, and listening to the coyotes in the distance all night.

Very secluded private location on Lana‘s ranch. Visit with the horses and cows as they meander up to your campsite while you camp in their pasture for the night. Very quiet and dark, great for sleeping! However, if you have a dog, be aware, the ground is full of little tiny thorny burrs that get stuck in their paws, and the bottom of your shoes! Other than that a wonderful place to stay if you’d like to be off the beaten path.

We stayed in the barn and it was a great break from camping. However the campsites were quaint and nicely situated on the property as well. Easy stop off the I 40 with groceries, fast food and gas nearby. I may have missed “cash only” in the write up but it is cash only on site if you are looking to pick up goods from their store. Would stay again if driving thru.

I was going to tent camp in under a grove of Elms and in fact had a great yoga session under their protection but approaching storms changed my sleeping arrangements to the car. Had a front row seat to lots of lightening and wind but no rain. My host graciously guided me in to the camp via messages and talked me through some road detours.

Amazing place to spend time at! Lana’s land will not disappoint you at all. Beautiful property, weather and sunsets. The coyotes howling in the distance was awesome to hear and fall asleep too. If your close to the Ranch and need a place to stay, this is a great spot!

I spent 2 nights camping up on the mesa site and it was great! It's very quiet and peaceful with the very occasional vehicle driving by on the road below. I would definitely come back and camp at Lone Mound Ranch next time I'm in the area.

Awesome experience! We were in a remote site in a little grove of trees. Amazing stars, wildflowers, coyotes singing at night and birdsong in the morning. If you like the idea of being well off the beaten track with loads of space around you, this is the place for you. Bonus: a cell tower very nearby means excellent service.
