Until then, your host will provide you with bait, fish, and crab traps that will be located in the marsh. Feel free to take as much bait from the traps until the actual bait shop is up and running. Private lot on the Gulf of Mexico in Sargent, Texas.  Just walk across the foot path to the Gulf of Mexico.   Full RV Hookups - water, electrical (50A/30A/20A), and sewage.  70+ feet of concrete pad and driveway inside the fenced yard with plenty of space for all RVs.   The property is fully fenced. The entrance gate is 16' wide.  The yard is all St. Augustine grass.  Very clean and maintained.  Pets are welcome.  This property is tailored for RVs, 5th Wheels, Travel Trailers, and Motorhomes that have black and grey tanks and can hold their waste water (shower, toilet, and washing) for dumping into the on-site water treatment unit.  You must have your own shower, sinks, and toilet on your rig with holding tanks for black and grey water and the ability to dump into the dump location on the property.  The property is not designed for tent campers. The electrical and sewage hookups are on the left side of the property.  Motorhomes (Class A, Pushers, and Class C RVs can pull directly into the space with hookups in the usual location.  5th wheels, travel trailers, and campers that are pulled by a vehicle will need to back into the space as there is no room in the front of the property to drive in, unhook your vehicle, and drive the vehicle off the slab.  When you back in, the hookups will be on the the opposite side of your connections.  Depending upon your travel trailer and where you place your travel trailer on the slab, you may need electrical or sewage extensions to reach the connections. The vast majority of the renters who use the property used a 5th wheel, travel trailer or camper that is pulled by a vehicle. The pictures of the property show a line of granite blocks between the property and the beach.  The granite forms a seawall (called the revetment wall) that was installed by the Corp of Engineers and prevents beach erosion.  Depending on the tides, sometimes the Gulf waters hit the wall and there is very little beach area in front of the property.  Sometimes, there is a large beach area.  If the water is against the seawall and you’re looking for beach area, there are several beach entrances along Canal Drive within driving and walking distance.

Place is very well maintained. Clean and with good hookups. The fence was great for our dogs so they could run and play. A good kind of isolated. James provided us with good info and things to take into account. He made us aware of the mosquitos, which is something to plan for and know when and where be outside. The weather while we were at the camp was chilly so we were able to enjoy mornings and late evenings without worrying too much about them. If you are visiting plan ahead - shelter, permethrin, wondercide, citronella and protection for your dogs and yourself. We will certainly be coming back.

We had a great time. Took the family and three dogs. Has a dedicated fenced dog run. Very private location right on the Bayou. Has a great private dock with good fishing. Caught redfish, blue crabs, spotted sea trout, black drum, catfish, bluegill, ladyfish and alligator gar all in one spot. The hookups were in the perfect location and did not require a long 50amp cord or septic hoses. Surfside beach is only 18 minutes away for your beach fix and good food. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Great host and great spot.

Great spot for family camping. The property is easy to access (we have a fwd minivan) and there are plenty of places to set up a tent. There is a nice field in the front and trees to the rear of the property. There are plenty of stores within a 15 minute drive in case you forgot any supplies. Kristie was very accommodating and answered all of my questions before the trip. Highly recommend you check this spot out! We are definitely coming back!

This place is a hidden gem. Living in Texas, my wife and I have been to a lot of beaches along the coast, but had never heard of Sargeant Beach. The fact that there are no restaurants, bars, and stores keeps a lot of people away and maintains a quiet atmosphere. The site is well prepared and maintained. We did have to move all of our stuff the day after we arrived so they could come cut the grass, but I guess that was a minor inconvenience. The beach that we did ended going to enjoy the sand and water was just up the road and easily accessible. There was an incredible amount of organic and non-organic debris on the beach due to all of the heavy rains and the runoff coming from the Brazos river into the Gulf of Mexico. Caveat: the pictures on hipcamp app need to be updated. There is no good access to the beach from the campsite; that wood walkway does not exist.

Great area, just as described. Mother nature didn't give us any brakes whatsoever pretty much rained the entire time we were there. We weren't able to do any fishing or any outdoor activities as we were hoping, but that's beyond anyone's control. Lots of privacy and nice quiet, relaxing area. The owners kept us updated about the weather and potential mosquito problems, which was very much appreciated.

Great setup for RVs with convenient fenced yard for our dog. Easy walking access to the seawall and only a quick drive to the beach area up island. Host was very communicative and everything worked as advertised at the site. Would definitely stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Private Gulf Front RV Site
We loved it!! We will be back! Although the winds were high and the seas rough, the positive was no mosquitos and sitting with coffee or drinks listening to the waves. Loved the quietness of the area and the peacefulness which we need after a work week. The chain link fence is a complete game changer for our dogs. We walked the road, walked the sea wall and the area is clean and neighbors friendly. We arrived after 10pm and entry and hookups a breeze. Lesson we learned when headed to the RV spot is don’t wait until the last gas station a couple miles down, the card readers at the pumps don’t work so if they are closed no gas. Thank you to the hosts!!
