No AC, of course, but the fan will keep it comfortable in warm weather. As to cold weather, the chapel has an electric heater that keeps it fairly comfortable in cold weather: not blazing hot, but comfortable, unless it gets VERY cold; then, the heater just takes off some of the chill. Zinus Ultima Comfort Memory Foam 6 Inch mattresses are very comfortable! Using the outdoor solar/camp shower is wonderful. The privy is clean and well-ventilated. Appliances: fan; toaster oven; microwave oven; coffee maker; and, small micro-fridge. Lighting is provided by four rechargeable lanterns. Screens on the windows and door to keep the bugs at bay. Outdoor deck features comfortable Adirondack chairs, a Weber charcoal grill, and a fire pit for campfires. I'll provide you with wood (on a donation basis . . . pay what you like) campfires. Matches and paper provided, too, to help get the fire started. The play area offers opportunities limited only by your imagination. Sunbathing? Stargazing? Badminton and Bocce balls provided if you want to play! We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there. Twin Valley Horse Ranch and Bed & Breakfast is such a delightful place! This is our second visit, and we truly appreciate how Janice has created a warm and welcoming environment that is also dog-friendly. Finding spots that welcome us and our furry friends can be tough, so we’re grateful for this special place. Luke’s Cabin is cozy and comfortable, equipped with everything you might need. We also love that here, you can disconnect and enjoy the tranquility without Wi-Fi. It’s a perfect home base for exploring the beautiful Smokey Mountains and nearby attractions, especially Dollywood, which is just about a 30-minute drive away. Whether you want to fill your days with adventures or simply relax by the lake or fire pit and spend time with the animals, there’s plenty to enjoy. We recommend all of Janice’s wonderful facilities, but our personal favorite is Luke’s Cabin.

Billy’s land is absolutely gorgeous and he has done well turning it into a magical retreat. The chapel is stunning and Billy made sure we had everything we needed. He and his animal friends were so welcoming. 11/10 would visit again.

Weekend Trip to Valhalla Acres at TNcampground

This was a great place to stay and Jodie is a very thoughtful, informative host. We had 4 families staying at the property and there was plenty of room for the kids to run around and the adults to relax. The glamping tents were great and had absolutely everything you could need to camp in comfort. Definitely would stay here again the next time we are in the area.

Weekend Trip to Woodsman at Starr Mountain Retreat

My buddy and I had a great weekend getaway to relax at the Woodsman Cabin at Starr Mountain Retreat on 23 acres in the Cherokee National Forest near Reliance, Tennessee. This place is the real deal. It is quiet, private, and surrounded by woods with that perfect peaceful vibe. The cabin is spotless, well laid out, and seriously comfortable. The queen bed in the main bedroom and the twin beds up in the loft were both very comfortable. They have literally thought of everything. There is a full kitchen, gas fireplace, grill, and all the little details that make it easy. You could literally show up with just a suitcase and feel like you’re checking into a hotel room. No scrambling for basics. They even had an abundance of dry firewood ready, and they thought of the little things like dry kindling in a bucket ready for use. The fire pit served us well for some great evenings chilling out. The owners were responsive, and it really shows in how well the place is set up. We felt that the advertisements for this location actually undersell just how excellent it is. This is a first-class spot in the woods. Already talking about coming back. Highly recommend it for any guys looking for a solid relaxing getaway. Thanks Nola and Brian! 🙌

Absolutely the perfect cabin. The cabin had everything we needed and only needed to bring our clothing and food. Nola has thought of everything for this cabin all the way down to the kindling for the fire. The beds were comfortable and the hot water was hot. The AC worked great and we loved the fire pit and front porch.

Weekend Trip to Smoky Mountain Meadows

Very clean, very spacious and we felt very welcomed. My autistic niece was with me, if you have an autistic loved one you know how difficult traveling/staying the away from home can be. From stimming, to AWOLing, to places having very easily breakable Knick knacks everywhere 😭 I got to see my girl fully relax away from home, no one corrected us for her stimming or made us feel uncomfortable, enough space for her to run around, a creek to splash in, playground and toys for campers to use. We were embraced with open arms and we lovedddd it, highly recommend to anyone. You won’t be disappointed

Weekend Trip to Mountain Creek Rest

We had a great weekend at Diamondstone! From the cabin to the creek we were able to relax, unwind, and even adventure a little. Brian was kind and a pleasure to talk to, be sure to greet him if you get the chance as he had lots to share with us! The cabin and toilet were stocked with cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and plenty of liners/ bags! Our dog, Vivi had a blast and had lots of space to sniff around. We hope to make it back in the future!

1 night at Little Barn Cabin At Fowl Territory

We stayed in a really cute, small barn-style space that clearly had a lot of handmade character and charm. You can tell a lot of it was built with a personal touch, which gives it a unique feel. That said, the ladder leading up to the loft was very petite and a bit difficult to use. Overall, it has potential and a lot of charm! We loved the plants and garden.

Weekend Trip to Glamping at the Chapel

Billy took good care of us, and The Chapel is an amazing piece of craftsmanship. The whole property is neat as was his story, and the Finnish sauna routine with the fresh water pond dip is a must. Everything worked as expected down to the thunderbox. The bed/bedding was great, and the wood stack was filled with nice burning wood. An added bonus is that there's very little to no cell signal unless you bushwhack 150' or so up to to the top of the adjacent hill.

Weekend Trip to Mountain Creek Rest

My boyfriend and I had such a great time at Brian's place! The little shelter he's built is perfect. I loved every little detail - the cool bed platform, the electric heater, the well functioning windows and blinds, THE PORCH 🤌🏼, the branches used for the railings, charcoal grill, picnic table and fire pit, and like 15 steps from the shelter to the river. Just perfect. It got down into the 30's one night we were there and our little place stayed plenty warm. Brian is incredibly kind and wonderful to talk to as well. If you like camping, hiking, kayaking, swimming, and/or paddle boarding, pretty sure you'll love this spot and the area. Would highly recommend a truck or suv for the drive in as there's a lot of gravel and some pretty large bumps that a lower car may struggle with.
