This Tennessee treasure features plenty of good reasons to get out and about in nature. Head about 20 miles north on TN-388 to reach Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park. The park both borders the Mississippi River and allows access to Lake Piersol and Lake Poplar Tree. Fishing and boating on the water is the main draw here. Staying overnight? Debbie's directions were really clear, and she met me when I arrived to help me find my spot to park. Her place was quiet, peaceful and dark - perfect for sleeping! It was also helpful to have the shared bathroom and shower available to use. I would definitely stay there again when in the area :)

The land is beautiful with areas to spend time at outside the van. My dog loved roaming around the field and seeing the horses and donkeys! She cried when we left! Also indoor bathroom option for toilet and a shower, was a major plus! The host was very responsive to our short booking window and respectful of our sometimes anxious dog, that felt welcoming to us! We look forward to stopping again next time we are driving through the area!

We found a lot of eating options in the town of Como, also. It is also located within driving distance of Memphis. Will definitely have a return trip here

I felt very safe and comfortable, knowing that I was in a fully enclosed and locked property. Sarah was considerate enough to leave a fire pit and firewood and she has cute little lights strung up around the fire pit. There is a port-a-potty available for use and a dumpster for your trash when you leave. It’s a great spot. Quiet and peaceful, and I had a nice night of good rest.

Beautiful property and very welcoming hosts. They provided electricity and even a charcoal grill with supplies. Ground was level and I was able to keep my car near my setup. Although I was set up in a semi open area, I felt like I had some privacy. Overall, great time and looking forward to coming back sometime soon!

If you're considering staying here I would say do it, without a doubt. Debbie is the kindest, most accommodating host, the farm is pristine, private, safe and beautiful and it's a close enough drive for a trip into Memphis to look around. There is a full shower and bathroom and the campsite itself is stunning. My five year old was sad to leave this place. Debbie has thought of every detail and it shows. We wish we could've stayed longer and if we're ever passing through Memphis again we'll definitely be back. Thank you for everything Debbie it was so nice to feel right at home while on the road.
