Enjoy glamping in our optional 2017 19' retro style camper with a bathroom aJust 35 minutes west of Loveless Cafe' in Nashville and 20 minutes south of the Dickson exit at I40. The 48 acre campground has just 3 big tent sites for more seclusion and is almost all old forest with wide trails and huge old growth trees. There is about a 1/2 acre of field to park in between the road and the creek if you don't have an off road vehicle. The rest is woods. Mother Nature has a lot to offer when you cross the creek into the first two campsites that are on the 30' creek. One big spring runs through the middle of the 2 sites with small cascading waterfalls. Both sites have string lights and 120V extension cords. These two sites are separated by the driveway and about 150' apart but a bridge connects the two if you have another couple that wants to join you these two spots are perfect for privacy and companionship. Expand the pictures to a full screen as you scroll so the description will show up at the bottom of the picture. Not all pictures are on the property but describe close places to visit as well. FIREWOOD: Split wood is available upon request and sold in the area (if it's available at the time) or any fallen dead wood from the forest is free. $7.00 for a 20" bundle. Please let us know ahead of time or order it on the site. SITE 1: The nicer of the two sites along the creek, has granite counters, a round fire pit with a fold down heavy cooking grate, charcoal grill and a large wrought iron table and chairs. RENT A CAMPER WITH SITE 1 or BRING YOUR PERSONAL CAMPER: Our retro style 2017 option on the other side of the creek with stairs and stones to cross the creek. Sometimes the walking stones get washed out. 30 amp. 240 and 120 volt plugs. Click on additional fees for camper electrical hook up. SITE 2: Also along side the 30' creek. There is a round steel fire pit surrounded with wrought iron chairs, a separate picnic table, granite countertop work space and a small grill. 2 fairly flat areas for tents. Set your chairs in the creek in front of your site. The clear cold water is a great place to relax and cool off or watch crawfish, minnows and salamanders and the occasional blue herron. 120V and string lights. Parking is a little tight unless you're in a Jeep of more off road vehicle that can park up the hill a bit. SITE 3: "Still Hollow" is more private and located right in the middle valley of the property where a different spring fed creek runs down the wooded valley. There is no electricity but you can still enjoy the sound of small cascading waterfalls and a creek that runs along the side of the site for a relaxing sleep. There is a granite countertop, charcoal grill and a fire ring. A small round wrought iron table and 4 chairs are there for a place to eat lunch. The old moonshine barrels are still barely standing by the spring. This site is also accessed from the opposite side of the campground on Ben Fly Rd or Greer Rd for the serious off roaders. 4 wheel drive may be necessary but a Hyundai car entered through the creek in 2 wheel drive. It was dry though. STAR GAZING for all 3 sites: There is a cleared area on top of a hill side for stargazing far from the city lights. CHECK IN: Check in can be as early as like if the present campers have checked out. You can always hang out elsewhere on the property and start your day to explore and hike till they leave. Just let us know in advance. And you can stay all day the day of check out but you may have to pack up and park elsewhere if other campers need the spot. If not. Stay till dark. PHOTOS: EXPAND THE PHOTOS TO A SINGLE VIEW! Some photos are of nearby attractions. You can see the description of each photo and which site is in the picture when you expand them. VEHICLE TYPE AND PARKING: In order to drive up into the campsite, you may need a 4x4 vehicle but definitely need ground clearance. If you do not have a 4x4 vehicle or ground clearance, that is okay, park in the field and bring your water shoes for campsite 2. There are stairs and usually stepping stones to cross over to Site 1. FISHERS OFF ROAD RENTALS https://www.fishersoffroadrentals.com/ TOUR THE AREA IN A CAN-AM: Check out 'Fisher's Off Road' to rent a really nice 4 seater CAN-AM machine. Drive around the local dirt roads for miles and learn the history of Moon Shine Alley, drive through many creeks and see some beautiful views. We took to tour with Fisher and it was a blast. This company supports the locals and cleans up the trash on the sides of the roads; a great service to the area. Our beautiful setting overlooks the West Fork of the Stones River. With walk-in access to the water, the camp is perfect for exploring a thriving river system (2, 6, and 8 mile floats are easy since take-out points are just up the road a piece or just paddle up and down the river, depending on the rains). The river is wadable most of the year. Smallmouth and seasonal trout make for easy fishing. The river is home to an abundance of birds, turtles, and fur-bearing friends. On some days we might have old time music band playing on our side of the river. You’re welcome to join and listen to the music.

A charming little cabin on a beautiful property! I stayed here with my three dogs, and they loved having the space to roam freely. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, and the modern bathroom was a nice touch. Both the main room and the bathroom have their own window unit. Keith was wonderful to chat with, a friendly and welcoming host.

1 night at Kahu Farm

We had a great experience camping on Lora's land. She welcomed us in with her husband and showed us around the property. I paid for some of her home made bug spray which worked extremely well and is all natural. The property was private, quiet, and clean. They had a bathroom and water, an outdoor kitchen, fresh eggs, fresh goat milk, well behaved animals, beautiful award winning goats. She made us a cup of coffee in the morning, provided firewood, amazing spring water. The tent was clean and warm, she provided us with blankets and basic essentials. Beautiful outdoor shower. She allowed me to take some photos on her property. Great time.

This was a very fun stay! Super cozy! We were only stopping by for a quick rest however this would make a great base camp to explore, all the decor and enmities were very well thought out and curated for the artsy mind with great touches of hospitality. Honestly would stay again and seek this quiet spot out. We were last minute getting there and late/early to leave and the host Todd was very polite and responsive. If you’re thinking about it, book it!

Weekend Trip to Kahu Farm

We went for a night out. Call us crazy cause we didn't drive but about 15 minutes. We went glamping for the first time. If you haven't I do recommend it. We had a nice tent with the softest queen size bed ever built on a platform. Nice portable potty in a small tent right outside. A fire ring that they provided the wood for. A double hammock and a dinning outside table. If that wasn't enough a short walk on a path would take you to the outside kitchen with anything you could need. Also provide indoor plumbing with a huge shower. The host was amazing. Spend our morning on their front porch just talking. The kids can see chickens and goats. They have 2 doggies and the most interesting bird that talks and sings. They also offer kayaking where they drop you off and pick you up. We will definitely be going back even being so close to home. It's just the getaway on the edge of Lewis and Lawrence county that gives you the feeling of being in a mountain setting.. I wish I would had taken more pictures of the amazing farm but I did not. I will next time for sure. We booked through hip camp. Definitely recommend for a night out. Also they do have some solar power inside the tent. Last night it stormed and was cold out. But inside was dry and super warm.

Weekend Trip to HeartStone Campground

Dan and Mandy were excellent hosts. We camped in campsite 10 which was big enough for two families with dogs. There was plenty of firewood to be gathered. Dan and Mandy were responsive, extremely accommodating, and checked in the right amount. They are very passionate about their campground and it shows. The bathrooms were well lit and fully stocked. Look forward to coming back here with the kids! There is a swimming hole on site but the water was low due to lack of rain recently. It was still knee high and felt refreshing. The kids loved walking through the water. The star gazing at night was incredible. There is no city lights. Will definitely come back!

Weekend Trip to Rock Creek Wooded Campground

My friends and I had so much fun camping on Faye's land. We were a group of 6 people and 4 dogs and booked 2 sites. We were fortunate enough to be the only campers that weekend. The sites are unmarked and there wasnt a clear separation of the sites (e.g. treeline) so we were a bit confused where each of our sites were. But seeing as we were the only campers, we set up camp on what we all presumed was one of our sites. I imagine if there were other campers with us that it wouldn't be as private since the sites are pretty much open. There are trees spread out sporadically but not enough to cover your view to another site. Faye was kind enough to leave us firewood and there were enough fallen limbs and logs on the ground to forage for more when we needed. Now onto the BEST part: the creek. The creek was STUNNING and the stream was super lively. All of us (and our dogs) LOVED wading and swimming in the creek. The water was so clear and refreshing to the touch. AND we spotted an otter swimming in it!!! Such an awesome and unforgettable experience! I would book with Faye again for another camping trip with a large group, especially if we are the only ones there :).

Faye’s property was a great time! It was perfectly private and relaxing. The creek was probably our favorite part of the site. I would recommend going if you have a large group, as the sites are close enough to all camp together. The bathroom was clean and only a few minutes short of a walk to it from the campsite. (To find the bathroom, just walk down the trail until you see the playground, turn into it and it will be the door on left side of the white building)

Loved our experience! The property is beautiful, the sites are well maintained, and the host is so kind. Sadly the weather kept us from staying overnight, but we had a beautiful day and will definitely be back again! It was my first time “camping” (in quotes because we didn’t spend the night!!) in a while but I grew up camping and want to get back into it. Jenny was so welcoming and responsive on Hipcamp and also on site. She brought over wood for our bonfire, checked in to make sure we were all set up, had everything we needed, and were aware of the weather for the night. We were on site 4, The perfect hammock site, and got both of our hammocks set up with no problem and had 2 options for our tent placement! Looking forward to going back :)
