Wild Meadows atop Rutherford County

5 sites · RVs, Tents16 acres · Lascassas, TN
25 years ago, we camped this spot and dreamed of building a house here. The view was so captivating. Needless to say, we’ve been here 20+yrs and still camping our land. Now we are sharing the beautiful landscape and remote feel that's so close to so much to see and do. We love where we are and we think you will too. Oh and I should also mention, you must love dogs. We have 3 plus 2 cats and chickens. Isolated or wide open. 1 tent or group camping. No electricity or water hookups. Free Access to water hose. We do not allow recreational motorized vehicles, firearms or bows. This is a peaceful serene getaway. We also have Airbnb rentals that consist of our home, that's also listed as "Wild Meadows atop Rutherford County", a travel trailer referred to as "Wildwood 17' Western RV and an RV listed as "Boutique RV at Wild Meadows". See trees, birds, lightning bugs and gorgeous views of Rutherford county. 5 min. from water. Swim, bike, fish, walk or run. Boating 15 min. from Percy priest lake. 10 min. from Cedars of Lebanon state park. 5 min. from Murfreesboro. 15 min. from downtown Murfreesboro. On the city square, there's live music first Friday every month. Fantastic farmers market sat mornings in the summer, starting in May. Checkout “Quarter Spring Farm” goat soap booth. Tell Heather hello for us. Her lemongrass and clove soap are my favorites. 30 min. from Nashville. 5 min. from Greenway walking trails. 20 min. from shopping. Hundreds of restaurants within a 20 min. radius. Championship soccer park 10 min. York Hollow

1 site · RV, Tent14 acres · Pulaski, TN
Campsite is located at the base of York Mountain. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent, hang you hammock, or park your camper and enjoy the great outdoors. There are a couple of level spots for your tents, as well as a nice rock fire pit for you to use. There is usually plenty of firewood available and there is an outhouse on the site. The pond hasn't yet been stocked with fish, but hopefully soon it will have more than just frogs. But for now the frogs provide great music. This is a rustic campsite, with rocks, roots, and steep terrain. Please bring your own camping gear, including chairs, and please take your trash with you. There is plenty of privacy, even though you are right near a public road that has very little traffic. There are no other campsites nearby and the owner lives 1/2 mile away. Recreation nearby includes Canoeing/kayaking on both the Elk River and Richland creek (shuttles can usually be arranged), Stillhouse Hollow Falls (beautiful waterfall hiking), Trail of Tears Interpretive Center, and Big Creek Winery. Calico Junction Ranch

20 sites · RVs, Tents101 acres · Hohenwald, TN
Located in the hills and high forests of Hohenwald, Tennessee, Calico Junction Ranch is a large, multi-faceted operation with over forty head of horses, breeding kennels for Long-Coat German Shepherds, and a modest Heritage Breed Hog farming operation. Occupied by Native Americans as early as 10,000 BC, the Chickasaw Indians hunted our hills in the 1500's, and the ranch property is located along the Cherokee "Trail of Tears." The ranch was later home to a miner named "Grizzly Jack"... You can visit his cabin during your stay. More recently, Calico Junction hosted benefits for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and we regularly host dinner trail rides on weekends. Calico Junction New Beginnings Ranch is our non-profit 501(c)3 providing Equine Assisted Therapy and a horse rescue. Because Calico Junction has so much to offer, we have joined Hipcamp in order to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful and relaxing ranch home. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent in a beautiful meadow not far from a pasture with horses. Choose a site close to the main ranch or as remote as you prefer. We are a family-oriented operation where children are welcome. Explore the ranch on foot or arrange for a horseback ride or two. Bring your binoculars and get up early to catch the Great Blue Herons feeding near the bridge. You'll probably disturb them, but if you're quick, you may capture a picture of the Heron's graceful flight. Go wading, collect rocks or hunt for arrowheads in Rockhouse Creek--you are almost certain to find them, the best free souvenirs! Take nature walks to see our abundant wildlife: deer, wild turkeys, foxes, rabbits and squirrels, because they play here too! Tour the kennels and walk or brush the dogs upon request. Tell stories or play your guitar as you enjoy a relaxing evening campfire. Then listen to the Whippoorwills as they serenade you to sleep. You must arrive 1 hour prior to sunset.

The Farm on Douglas Ridge

2 sites · RVs, Tents30 acres · Christiana, TN
The herb, nut, fruit, and vegetable farm was started after carving out a spot to plant and live. The otherwise unspoiled land has a rich history dating back past the Civil War to the Revolutionary War and we are learning more and more about every day. Enjoy the hiking, camping, and wildlife watching opportunities directly across the street from the highest spot in Rutherford County, Tennessee. Our goal is to help educate members of the community about the benefits of natural and historical foods and medicines. We have a vision to raise awareness about herbs and other plants that are beneficial both for medicinal and culinary purposes. Learn more about this land: Are you looking for privacy, peace, and quiet in a remote camping site that isn’t far from civilization? We are less than 15 minutes from I-24 Exit 97, between Manchester and Murfreesboro, just south of Nashville in Beechgrove/Christiana, TN. Only a short drive to Hop Springs and Bonaroo. From the top of the ridge, sloping paths call the experienced hikers while the views call those who just want to enjoy “being.” Hike the relatively undeveloped paths or stroll along the defined walkways. Either way, enjoy the peace and quiet as you prepare to see more stars at night than allowed in some states. Enjoy your next peaceful and quiet getaway at 1300 feet above see level! The 30-acre Farm on Douglas Ridge is next to the highest spot in Rutherford County, Tennessee (higher than all of Nashville and most of Davidson County), and is home to the best unobstructed and unpolluted peaceful view of the moon and stars in the area!  We are under an hour drive from the center of Nashville, under an hour and a half drive from the center of Chattanooga, and under two hours drive from the center of Huntsville. Your getaway to this secluded off-grid campsite with your tent, our tent, your vehicle, a small (under 20 ft camper, pop-up, or hammock) will leave you refreshed and relaxed, fresh from a nature detox. Each campsite has a rock fire pit - you provide everything else (or add them to your list of extras, see below). The Farm provides a peaceful and private camping experience conveniently located between Nashville, Huntsville, and Chattanooga. The host family lives on the property, with about eight acres of open pasture/farmland and twenty-four forested acres for hiking and forest bathing (relaxing in natural surroundings that remind you nothing of the city). All photos were taken on or above the farm. Drinking water, personal toilet alternatives with liner, a camp shower (5 gal), privacy tent for the toilet or the shower, towels with soap/shampoo bars, a food storage security system, kitchen and cooking equipment, and Firewood (7-8 Logs) are available at $5 each, 2 for $9, or 3 for $12. Need a tent? We have a couple of choices starting at $10. Want comfort? Try our 4-inch thick queen-size mattress for $7.50. Let us know of your needs in advance, please, so we can prepare properly for your visit. See the extras to pre-order these items. We will settle the account numbers before you leave. All payments should be made in advance, before unloading, unless coordinated with the host. If you know you are exhibiting or develop symptoms of any illness, regardless of any test results, please give us the courtesy of awareness so we can respond appropriately.
