Bear Den is a small camp with 3 Glamping Tents, 2 cabins and shower house. Outdoor spaces for relaxing. We are located approximately 5 miles from Custer State Park, 11 miles from Keystone the Gateway to Mt. Rushmore in the beautiful southern Black Hills.
Cabins have electricity, our tents do not have electricity. Cabins and showers are heated and open year round! All sites including 'bring your own tent' sites have access to the shower house and outdoor grilling areas.

Tammy's place was everything we wanted - its cozy, remote but in the heart of so much beauty. We got in at sunset and were able to take our dog on a night stroll up her hill for a very peaceful evening. The heat in our cabin was NICE and made it extra cozy. The bathroom / shower set up was top notch - sooo clean! 10/10 recommend this place! + Tammy is such a friendly, kind, good human!

We loved staying at Bear Den! Tammy and Tim are the most welcoming hosts — we immediately felt like a part of their family! As our 5-year-old told us when they went back to their house after greeting us… “They’re so nice, I wish they didn’t have to go.” :) The cabin was cozy and perfect for our family of four. We were extra impressed by the cleanliness of the facilities, and amenities we didn’t expect. Our kids loved exploring the property, seeing the stars at night, and waking up to watch the deer right outside the cabin. The location was great, and pretty central for all the things we wanted to do. Our whole family hopes to visit again, and we will tell all our friends to make a trip to the Black Hills to stay with Tammy and Tim!

We had the most amazing time at Lil Bear! Tammy and Tim are so kind and made us feel so at home! Our cabin was stocked with little snacks, was so cozy, had heat, coffee machine and it was just the best! Would absolutely recommend for a weekend getaway!

We loved staying at the Bear Den cabins! Tammy gave us clear instructions to where/how to find it and was very communicative and friendly! 😊 The location is quiet and secluded, other than the sound of the neighbors clucking chickens (which I loved!), and the passing turkey and deer through the property. We had our two dogs, which I reached out in advance about having multiple dogs and she was very accommodating. We’d love to be back!

We had an amazing time staying in shady bear! Tammy was so kind and welcoming and has truly thought of everything. The bathrooms/showers were immaculate, there were plenty of ammenities, and the property was beautiful. We will absolutely stay here again if we're in th area!

Tammy had such a cool separate of several tents with their own privacy that were so cozy and warm. The bath house was awesome and she has a place to do your dishes and free bags of ice which was great! Would highly recommend!

The cabin was cozy and just what we needed. We did bring a mattress topper as we noticed from the images the mattresses are thin and I would highly recommend bringing a topper. Tammy and Tim are wonderful hosts. They took me out to their disc golf course in the back. They made rounds every night to wish all of the campers good night.
The location is peaceful with animals like dear and turkey walking around in the morning. It is close to so many of the cheife attractions in the area.

The Bear Den is amazing! Tammy and Tim have thought of everything you might need. Everything is so clean and well-kept. The location is fabulous for all the nearby sites (Wind Cave NP, Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, Badlands and more!). Tammy is so welcoming and an amazing host!

If you’re looking for a wonderful glamping experience (or camping for that matter) with access to necessary conveniences - like bathrooms, full showers, grills, & kitchenette. This is your place! And fabulously maintained by Tammy and her husband! They are the icing on the cake - great hosts! I initially booked 2 nights and ended up adding 3, I loved it so much. I will definitely be back.

Tammy has thought of everything to make a stay on their beautiful land comfortable. The clean restroom and shower house stocked with toiletries. Fluffy towels and pretty quilts on the comfortable bed. Lights and fans and charging station for phones. The cooking area was great- a gas grill and tables and chairs under a roof, and everything was clean and well maintained. For an easy, comfortable experience where you still feel close to the outdoors, I highly recommend!

Nothing but good things to say. First off, Tammy is the sweetest host. This was our first time booking a place off Hipcamp and it was the best experience. We got there a bit late but Tammy was communicative and understanding. The place was beautiful, well maintained, and clean. It’s a little confusing getting there but Tammy made it clear and helped us out when Apple Maps took us to the wrong spot. Excellent amenities, comfortable space, and an even better host.

Tammy’s awesome and has a really sweet spot! The amenities are way more than we could’ve hoped for in a glamping experience. We got rained out on a hike our second day and returned to camp to find that our site held up just great. The bath house was very convenient and incredibly clean/well maintained. There were several other kind campers there at the same time as us. Their tents were a little closer to us than we initially anticipated based on the pictures, but we still had our privacy. Her site would be the perfect place if you’ve got a group of friends wanting to have an outdoor stay with all of the luxuries of hot running water/bathrooms, covered outdoor grilling area, ice access & laundry. 10/10 would love to stay again ♥️

Tammy is a wonderful person and takes care of an incredible place. She was communicative before, during, and after my arrival. I appreciated her greeting me and showing me around the space. The Bear Den itself is such a lovely and comfortable place to stay, and all of the amenities and facilities are generously offered and cared for, including clean bathrooms and towels, laundry, fridge space, coffee, and snacks. Tammy herself is such a big-hearted, warm person and I am so glad I was able to spend two nights here. I have been traveling solo on a roadtrip and I felt very safe and like I had returned home and could really lean into resting at this point in my journey. I highly recommend staying here and hope I am able to return one day. Thank you Tammy!
