There are 3 campsites located in the gap of the little Mahanoy Mountain and line Mountain range along the little Mahanoy creek. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

The White Squirrel Properties include a cabin, rental pavilion and camp site. The camp site sits at the top of a hill and provides a secluded flat site to pitch your tent or park your van/truck camper/truck top tent. You will have this space to yourself. The view is breathtaking - you have a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River, numerous sets of mountain ranges, and you are surrounded by beautiful fields. There is a rustic picnic table and a more modern high top table set with an umbrella, for your use. We have also added 4 hammock chairs that you can relax in while enjoying a glass of wine. There is a wooden platform with a small structure on it. You can stand underneath the platform and it can provide some shelter, if needed. (The structure is being renovated for a new experience next summer.) The pavilion is a short walk and has 2 bathrooms, a shower, and a kitchen. **The kitchen is only available if the pavilion is not being rented**. There is an additional fee to rent the kitchen. 3 nights at Mulberry Acres

Nice little cabin that made camping in January comfortable with heating. Offered basic necessities for cooking. No running water but there was a new edition built on for a bathroom instead of going outside to hike up a hill to a bathroom. There’s rain collection for flushing the toilet and there’s well water to grab drinkable water from anytime. The host was nice enough to fill both water jugs before we arrived. Very friendly people, I can tell they love their animals. The farm includes, but not limited to; 2 emus, 2 dogs, some cows, bunch of pigs, a goat, and a retired mustang horse named Charles. Definitely recommend doing a tour of the farm as you can be as interactive as you want with the animals. Do bring tall boots or shoes you don’t mind getting muddy if it’s rained recently or if you’ve never been on a farm. It is a farm after all, get used to the chance of getting messy if you love animals. We had a great time exploring the trails they had to offer even while it was raining. I will say some of the trails are very steep on a hill so be cautious while exploring. This time of year is maple tapping which I would of loved to do, but circumstances didn’t allow it and that’s okay, maybe next time! Overall, a really enjoyable time here and we are planning on coming back in the spring/summer to possibly kayak and pick wild berries on the trails. Can’t wait to come back, thank you for hosting us.

3 nights at Riverside Hideaway

This is my first cabin camping in a long time and this place is really nice. The cabin is cozy and offers electricity. We are used to bringing our own supplies for camping and we were relieved to see most essentials were supplied. The hot plate and folding table were great for making meals, along with the fire pit. I really enjoyed the privacy and and hospitality of the host, who gave us the most delicious potatoes and onion from their garden. There is a train that comes by, but I'm telling you it is nothing that disturbed our stay. Thank you.

The cabin is quaint and had all we needed off the grid to really feel disconnected. We highly recommend this space, land, and family welcoming to all tent campers who once in awhile need a comfort space in inclement weather. A blessed place!

Weekend Trip to Solace Cabinette/Paix Cabinette

I rented the tiny cabin for 2 nights, and while it’s a lovely off-grid setup exactly as described, the temperatures dropped extremely low during my stay. Because the cabin has no heat, electricity, or running water, it wasn’t feasible to stay there in that kind of cold. The host was gracious and immediately helped us pivot to a room at her bed-and-breakfast on the same property so we could remain safe and comfortable. Although we didn’t get to stay in the cabin itself, the property is stunning — wide open views, peaceful surroundings, and a true escape from the city. I’m very grateful for the host’s quick help and hospitality. I’d absolutely return in better weather to enjoy the cabin properly.

5 nights at Mulberry Acres

Everything was awesome. The little cabin stayed so warm and was the perfect size for our family of three plus our doggo! The land was beautiful. Theresa and her husband were both so kind. We loved meeting their farm of animals. And she was easy to get a hold of and easy to chat with. We will definitely be going back. The porta potty is a short walk and they are working on a bunch of upgrades in the cabin too. The emus are wonderful and sweet, we visited them multiple times a day. I could go on and on. 100% recommended for an upgraded camping experience. Look forward to trying them out in warmer weather too!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the cabin! It was cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful nature. We loved relaxing together in the quiet atmosphere and enjoying the little touches that made the cabin feel so welcoming. A perfect getaway for us to unwind and recharge!

1 night at Dude, Girl! Ranch.

We had a perfect fall Sunday followed by a rainy Monday that somehow made the cabin even better. Warm, quiet, and easy to settle into. Jennifer was kind and responsive, and everything felt thoughtful without trying too hard. We found and brought an old CD player, a crate of our old scratched mix CDs, and ended up listening by the fire, laughing at what used to be our favorite songs and what stuck. Turns out, that’s about as good as it gets. Highly recommend bringing a few of your own instant time machine.

I loved the little cabinette because it lets so much light in. It was a great place to stash my stuff too. It’s a beautiful location and convenient setup, not far from civilization. Fire pit and cooking grate worked well for me. Karen also makes a wonderful breakfast at the B&B which campers can opt into. Next time I’m headed up that way, I hope to try out the B&B for a night.

This was a fine little spot! I simply overnighted on a road trip and it was just what I needed. Easy to find, pretty secluded, & Karen was a clear communicator. I was able to hear some street noise in town in the distance (though I'm a country bumpkin who is really sensitive to street noise! & this probably wouldn't bother most). Appreciated knowing that amenities (running water, breakfast) were nearby in the B&B.

Weekend Trip to Mulberry Acres

The land is stunning -- much of it an old field with young trees taking over and plumes of wildflowers (currently goldenrod and aster). Great bird habitat. Mowed paths made for a fine adventurous walk. The cabin's bed was very comfortable, the stove was convenient, and our hosts friendly. It was great to have such a secluded spot close to our visit to Shikellamy State Park and Bucknell.

I've been staying here off and on throughout the summer for work and it's still a place I'd come back to. The bed is comfortable, the mosquitos have simmered down, the birds are cheerful in the morning, and there is a barred owl that greets the evening with a few hoots. I love having a safe place I can lock my belongings while I'm out and about over the course of my stay.
