Our 2 and a half acre property is situated in a very rural quiet area. The Wickecheoke creek, a tributary of the Delaware, runs through the property. There is a private seating area for serene enjoyment and private meditation. Each camp site has a small private firepit and picnic table and the cabin has a large firepit, a patio area, and back deck. Plenty of wood is available - free again this season. There is a wooded site, an open site for self contained campers and tent campers, the "lil log cabin" and a large open grassy area, fun for children or dogs to recreate. Stop at the many creeks and enjoy the vibrant sounds of the bubbling waters; fish, frogs , turtles, blue heron and the many critters who habitate the waters. For birders there are over 75 species of birds within a short walk. During changes of seasons you can often see many birds in flight migrating to far away places. Bring your binoculars and camera. We loved our stay! Anne was very welcoming and helpful. The property is in a rural farming community, yet only 20 minutes to Kennett Square or Longwood Gardens. It’s very relaxing and quiet. Anne has a mudroom on her house that we were able to use that has a bathroom and sink. While the spot is in a carriage house driveway (we were also offered an option a little further away in a field), you still have a good sense of privacy. Anne left eggs and some veggies on our doorstep the first day. The entire trip was great and we’d definitely return. Anne is a lovely host who goes out of her way to make sure you are happy.

This camp site was great! Bathroom in their home was close by, as was prepared firewood. Chickens and horses greeted us in the morning, which was a great surprise! It was a nice, quiet spot. Would recommend!

Weekend Trip to SWEETDALE

Great spot! Tom and Anne are incredibly sweet hosts, and my dog Charlie and I really loved the site. We ended up staying at the RV site, which is a little further from the house and is enclosed by a gate, which allowed me to let Charlie run free. Very cool to hang out with the goats, cows, sheep, and chickens and watch the Amish buggies roll by.

This is the 5th or 6th time I've stayed here - that likely says it all - I like this hipcamp very much - it's private (the owner says hi, but then leaves you on your own), he provides wood for campfire, there is a water spigot, a picnic table. The site I reserve has these things, and I believe another site has electric as well, but I haven't needed that one. It's peaceful, scenic, private - and the owner is communicative, their home is in sight, but not close enough to change the nice privacy. All these things make a great hipcamp. I travel twice a year to and from Maine and Georgia, with 2 dogs, and stay there every time. Highly recommend.

Had a really lovely visit at Sweetdale. It’s nestled in Amish farm country, surrounded by natural beauty and all around good vibes. The actual sight is extremely lovely as Anne has spent a lot of time beautifully landscaping their property. Anne and Tom were extremely hospitable and accommodating. The closeness of the bathroom to the campsite was a real bonus. I hated to leave and would highly recommend. PS some wonderful botanical gardens (Winterthur and Longwood) are within 30 minutes.

My wife and I found this place to be a very peaceful place to stay with great views. It was a delight to observe the wildlife as well as the Amish road traffic. The host was kind enough to provide us with a mason jar so my wife could pick fresh flowers for our camping area.

This property was very sweet. Tom and MaryAnn were so helpful and kind. Although you are near the road and not far from their house, once we put our twinkle lights up we were transported into a perfect camping spot and didn’t even remember we were near civilization. Lots of bird activity, which we love. Would definitely come back when we need a quick escape from the city!

Weekend Trip to SWEETDALE

We did a quick overnight camp and really enjoyed it. Anne went out of her way to help us have a great time. Great stargazing and even a Starlink parade. Some friends who live nearby joined us around the campfire late into the night. Later we were serenaded to sleep by the duck farm 1/4 mile down the road. Sounds obnoxious but it was actually kind of cool. It’s better than the normal frogs and crickets.

We love Anne’s farm. We’ve stayed there twice already and fear we look like stalkers. LOL. The second visit was just as peaceful and magical as the first. We love hearing the horses clip-clop, pulling Amish buggies on the surrounding country roads. Anne’s ponies, sheep, and chickens are all welcoming, as is her sweet dog. And as if that’s not enough, there’s a nice winery just up the hill. Thank you, Anne and Tom, for being such wonderful hosts!

Brendan’s property is beautiful and private yet close to everything. The sunset was gorgeous! Driving with our 21’ trailer was easy off the main highway. We loved our stay. Brendan was an awesome host and brought us firewood and a fire pit. I totally recommend this site for relaxation and privacy.
