We recommend you print of bring a paper map. Your GPS will not bring you to the exact driveway location. You need to be personally observant. This is the top of a mountain ridge. The access lane is steep, rocky, and has water erosion ditches you must drive over. Do not attempt this if you have a low profile car or a new/fragile camper. 4WD/AWD is highly recommended. Low profile and fancy cars are not recommended. This camping site is for those who want to live ruggedly like Lewis Clark. To see the water ditches you must drive over, go to YouTube and search "Wilbur's Shed - Blairs Mills", and it is the account of a cat with a white face. This location is in a mix of farmland and mountain Appalachia. You will see common species such as chipmunks, squirrels turkey and deer. Many bird species. There are also porcupines, skunks, and black snakes around. You may also see black bear - it is rare, but possible. You are visiting wildlife species in their natural habitat. Please be self-aware of your own level comfort with wildlife. Once again, this is not an RVs park where you will socialize with a hundred other campers. This is primitive and isolated. This is an ideal camping spot if you want to escape from people. Nearby is the Tuscarora Creek which is excellent for trout fishing. The Tuscarora has a small but lovely window for kayaking from mid-March through the end of May. Please contact the host if you would like help to plan some paddle logistics. Great getaway spot! As an avid tent camper/hiker this place is everything I could ask for; remote, peaceful, well worth the trip. Perfect spot for groups of 2-4-6 people. Plenty of dead and down firewood to pull from the forest. Take care of this place. Be respectful and treat it as if it were your own. Host very cool and accommodating, hope to return soon.

Firewood was readily available, the outhouse was a plus and the drive from Montgomery county was a breeze. This is the second time that my family and I have stayed at this site. We liked it so much that we brought friends this time! The location is incredible and Greg is an outstanding Camp host. He’s quickly responsive to all of our questions and needs. He absolutely goes above and beyond to make the stay special and especially to find ways to make it really fun for our kids. May daughter loves seeing the resident cats and Greg’s very chill dogs.I also appreciate how flexible he was when some of our plans changed. I will be back to this site many times.

It had all of the amenities we needed (campfire grate for cooking, unlimited wood, picnic table and benches), and the campsites had enough distance apart from each other. I didn’t get to meet Scott in-person but he was very communicative and accommodating for me and my dogs. I will definitely be coming back!

The Hilltop site was wonderful with beautiful views of the sunrise in the morning and the stars at night. The trees provided privacy from other campers and great birdsong throughout the day. The site itself is pretty bare bones so come prepared -- Greg is super helpful and will bring firewood and other necessities if you ask, though, so it's really not a big deal. Speaking of Greg, he was super kind and offered great recommendations on what to do during the visit. Be sure to ask him about the cave along the C&O Canal path -- we explored it and saw a sleepy little bat that was a highlight for the whole group! :)

Weekend Trip to Riverside Farm by the Monocacy

Easy to find site but definitely have an off road capable vehicle to cross the stream. Low slung sedans won't make it Camp site was clean, flat, and private. Only major criticism is easier access to the Porta John. You need to drive back across the stream to get to it as the sewer pipe cannot be used to walk across. Driving out isn't always a option with tents in the way. My other personal opinion is the fire ring could be bigger. Seemed too small for such a large site

Had a great time tent camping here! The site was the perfect size and nicely situated next to the creek and away from other sites. We had a little trouble finding our way to the site but we were in the dark 😅 had no trouble crossing the river and the area felt very safe. Would recommend!

3 nights at Willows Farm

Plenty of space for us and our two dogs. Lots of fallen tress to choose firewood from. Curtis came by the site to check on us which I thought was nice. Will love to come back in the spring.

Weekend Trip to Old Soul Farm

We really enjoyed how quiet the campsite was. Appreciated the amenities and the pretty view. We got a very warm welcome from the resident barn cats which was a cute and pleasant surprise.
