The White Squirrel Properties include a cabin, rental pavilion and camp site. The camp site sits at the top of a hill and provides a secluded flat site to pitch your tent or park your van/truck camper/truck top tent. You will have this space to yourself. The view is breathtaking - you have a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River, numerous sets of mountain ranges, and you are surrounded by beautiful fields. There is a rustic picnic table and a more modern high top table set with an umbrella, for your use. We have also added 4 hammock chairs that you can relax in while enjoying a glass of wine. There is a wooden platform with a small structure on it. You can stand underneath the platform and it can provide some shelter, if needed. (The structure is being renovated for a new experience next summer.) The pavilion is a short walk and has 2 bathrooms, a shower, and a kitchen. **The kitchen is only available if the pavilion is not being rented**. There is an additional fee to rent the kitchen. Enjoy 8 beautiful, secluded acres on the Conewago Creek at Bald Hill, Northern York Co. My homestead was once part of the Conewago Turf Farm. It borders the creek a length of 1100 feet, mostly maintained with easy access. Camp is at the base of a steep section of the Conewago Mountains, creating privacy and protection from wind and afternoon sun. This is not a whole house rental. I have a one bedroom, queen size bed, kitchenette, private restroom and outdoor shower with on demand hot water. There's plenty of room for tent or van camping. Please see pictures for detail. I live in the house above the glamping quarters. Plenty of good fishing and paddling here. I offer shuttle service for 1 or 2 day float trips, paddle in one day, paddle out the next day. Canoes, kayaks, paddles and PFD's are included in the price of your stay. The Conewago is very beginner paddling but remote, very clean and full of wildlife. Gifford Pinchot State Park is 7 miles away. I have two paddle boards if you want to paddle the 3 mile lake. This adventure would require a short hike out to a parking area. Relax in a wood fired Norwegian sauna and cook in a Peruvian wood fired earth oven or cook under the stars over an open fire. Firewood is also included. Foodies will rejoice here. I live and work here, part time blacksmith and wood worker. I'll assist you in any way or do my best to stay out of your way. Wildlife love it here, I think you will too.

Tons of space to spread out along the river. Gorgeous property with tall trees and privacy. We were met with a bundle of firewood brought to us by our gracious host. The Adirondack chairs were very comfortable to sit around the large fire pit. I would definitely recommend this site for campers with simple needs. Peaceful and serene location behind the host’s house, not far from amenities. Pull up a chair and relax by the river.

I love spending time at Craig's property. This was my second visit and somehow it was better than the first trip which was amazing. We weren't able to paddle bc the creek was down, and it wasn't impactful to our fun at all. Just book it! And if you can check out the nearby dirt race track BAPS, fun for kids and adults alike.

Everything was clean and well maintained. Loved the wooden platforms, string of lights, fire pit. Unexpected bonus was some firewood and two hammocks already set up. Gorgeous view of the river and so convenient to the bike trail. Check in was a breeze. Note: As an active freight rail line goes alongside the bike trail and river, do expect train whistles and noise several times a night.

I can’t say enough great things about our stay at White Squirrel Overlook! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and there was so much space to stretch out and unwind. We were in town for a dog sporting event, and it was such a gift to return each day to a hot, sparkling-clean shower after competing. Audra was wonderful to communicate with—friendly, responsive, and welcoming. We’re already looking forward to booking our next stay!

I’ll be back. The amount of space you get to yourself is unbeatable, and so perfect for pets. I hate being surrounded by people when I go camping. Gorgeous spot and extremely private. Yes there is a camp across the way but it was mostly quiet and my side was completely private! Nobody to bother me or my dog. Host was super responsive and polite. The map to the spot was perfect. The hammock, chairs, table, fire pit, and tree swing was a nice addition. You have to bring your own grate if you like to cook on them, but that’s personal preference. This might be my new go to local spot.

This was my second time at Craig’s space and it did not disappoint! Great eating, beautiful scenes and amenities galore. Me and four other friends set up a tent down by creek and woke up to some of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve seen in a while. If you’re into birding, we heard and saw all kinds of amazing feathered friends. Our dogs explored every inch of the property and we got a chance to kayak pretty far down the Conewago creek. Craig was a master host, incredibly responsive but gave us plenty of room to feel like the space was our own. I can’t recommend this spot enough!

Spent 3 nights on Andrew's property. I had been looking for a spot where I could essentially wake up, and roll on to my paddleboard; this was perfect! The property is spacious, even, with great balance of sun and shade! There is a family campground directly across the river, but it's just a very small strip of it that is visual, but not at all noisy or disruptive. The location is somewhat affected by road noise, but almost all during the daylight hours. Andrew's communication was terrific! The site was clean and ready to go when I arrived, firewood brought down for me that afternoon. A composting toilet is privately tucked in just a 60 second walk from the site and is suitably clean (it's an outdoor toilet, you can only do so much lol) I was told that the hammock, fire ring, and trash can are new, and IMO, wonderful additions! This was such a beautiful and relaxing experience ... I am grateful to Andrew for sharing this space, and I am already brainstorming my stay for next summer!

We really enjoyed Andrews beautiful campsite! It's fully secluded but close to town, Our kids really enjoyed the land, it's very spacious with swings and a hammock. The river is beautifuy clean and perfect depth to swim. Additionally we enjoyed paddling on the river. Andrew is exceptionally responsive and helpful and accommodates anything you need. Incredible! We stayed here for my husband’s birthday and were completely blown away….the views are just breathtaking. Audra was very responsive whenever we messaged her and you can tell that they have put a lot of time, money and thought into the setup, including the pavilion at the base of the hill and the new upcoming bathrooms at the campsite. There is also a rooftop deck for even more spectacular views! My husband and I brought our paddle boards and paddled on the river all day (just a three minute drive from the site). Then we came back and enjoyed dinner at our campsite :) In the morning a thunderstorm came through, which we thoroughly enjoyed watching, while sipping coffee from inside our van. Thank you so much for offering this to the public. We will absolutely be coming back!

Wonderful location - scenic creek running through the property that's great for wading, fishing, or kayaking/canoeing (depending on water level - it was a bit low when we visited in late August). The property is very well kept, well stocked, and Craig was welcoming, helpful, and friendly. We had a great location for our tent near the creek, and played some horseshoes he had set up there. The fire ring was in a nice graveled area, so no worried about rogue sparks. Overall, very enjoyable!

Absolutely incredible site! Amazing views, very private, convenient facilities located nearby. Nice to have a spot to hang out and play games if it rains. Really enjoyed the lookout platform as well. There's a bathroom in shower being finished on site as well that will be super nice to have. Saw a deer in the fields each day we were there. Host was very responsive and helpful! We will definitely be back!

About Tyme Farm is a 26 plus acre privately owned farm used for crops such as corn, soy beans and sunflowers. The property includes a 150+ year old stone farm house, large historic barn on the barn quilt tour in Carroll County, renovated camping cabin for those not into rough camping, fields, streams , woods for hiking, plenty of wild life and lots of quiet. The farm is surrounded by other farms in the agricultural preservation program yet you are only 5 miles from stores, movies, antiques and other aspects of civilization or entertainment if needed. This location is; twenty minutes north of I-76 Turnpike Willow Hill Exit forty-five minutes from Raystown Lake one hour and thirty minutes north of Gettysburg one hour and thirty minutes south of PSU three hours east of Pittsburgh three hours west of Philadelphia five hours west of NYC There is some cell service, but it is limited. Can you hear me now? Be sure to save site information on your phone before you leave, in case you lose cell-service. This is not Alaska, but it is not a KOA campground, either. We recommend you print of bring a paper map. Your GPS will not bring you to the exact driveway location. You need to be personally observant. This is the top of a mountain ridge. The access lane is steep, rocky, and has water erosion ditches you must drive over. Do not attempt this if you have a low profile car or a new/fragile camper. 4WD/AWD is highly recommended. Low profile and fancy cars are not recommended. This camping site is for those who want to live ruggedly like Lewis Clark. To see the water ditches you must drive over, go to YouTube and search "Wilbur's Shed - Blairs Mills", and it is the account of a cat with a white face. This location is in a mix of farmland and mountain Appalachia. You will see common species such as chipmunks, squirrels turkey and deer. Many bird species. There are also porcupines, skunks, and black snakes around. You may also see black bear - it is rare, but possible. You are visiting wildlife species in their natural habitat. Please be self-aware of your own level comfort with wildlife. Once again, this is not an RVs park where you will socialize with a hundred other campers. This is primitive and isolated. This is an ideal camping spot if you want to escape from people. Nearby is the Tuscarora Creek which is excellent for trout fishing. The Tuscarora has a small but lovely window for kayaking from mid-March through the end of May. Please contact the host if you would like help to plan some paddle logistics. Rental through Hipcamp does not include hunting or the use of firearms, nor the use of dirt bikes and ATVs.
