Our stay in Antelope was nothing short of peaceful heaven. We met Larry when we pulled in with our trailer he helped get us situated. The place is so quiet, there is a flock of wild turkeys roaming the town and we saw several deer in town on our walks. We will be back next year to see all the improvements they are making including reopening the store/ cafe. The A frame cabins are perfect for two and look quite comfortable.

We camped in our RV with water and 30 amp electric hook ups on a level spot under some trees for a couple of nights here. We watched deer and wild turkeys roam around the tiny town of Antelope. Brandi quickly responded to our messages before our stay and invited us to go to church with her Sunday afternoon which was wonderful. We're looking forward to staying here again during our travels especially next spring.

Ample space for a car and a tent in a quiet neighborhood. Easy walking distance to Sisters Coffee and the rest of downtown. Access to the bath and shower was easy and convenient. Drew was a great host.

Great location for people who want to be in walking distance of the cute town of Sisters. It was easy to show up, set up camp, and then walk to everything we needed before retiring for the evening. Appreciated the access to the house for a bathroom, and the offer of shower, laundry, and food, even though we didn't need them this trip. Sweet dog Lily was a plus too. Campsite itself was as advertised and we were able to put up two tents and a hammock. Would come back.

We had a great stay in Antelope at Brandie and Larry’s site (August 2025). We stayed 6 nights with electrical and water at the site. They even had an extension cord and adapter from 50 to 30 amp on hand to help us out. We camped outside our trailer in tents.
The property was improving throughout our stay and they’ve clearly done a lot to it already. There is a building with bathrooms and a shower that seems very new.
It’s a neat park like area next to that new building. They had many motorcycles stopping in and one biker too on a long trek!
There isn’t a lot to do right in Antelope if you’re needing or wanting to stay busy. Or any stores or restaurants etc. Although the merry-go-round at the local school is neat :) There is lots to do within about an hour drive- our family LOVED swimming at White River Falls State Park and digging for fossils behind the HS in Fossil.
Antelope is a super quiet town. We enjoyed our camp neighbors tremendously and found it eerie when no one else was on the site but felt safe. Happy camping!

We enjoyed camping here in Antelope. It was very quiet with beautiful views. The town has an interesting history for those who are inclined to read about it. We will stay here again on our next road trip from California to Washington.

Great spot for a night in the car and not having to worry about parking at a store. Host was very nice and helpful, was even awake when we got there late at night. House might look a little iffy at first but we were surprised how easy it was to just walk in to use the bathroom. Dog is adorable!

Tina, was a very kind host and her and her friends were so helpful!! They were kind and informative. They offered breakfast burritos Saturday morning for a cheap price. They also offered a shuttle service for the festival which turned out to be the most helpful part of the whole stay!! Bathrooms and the property were clean. Highly recommend!!

Tina’s space was open and beautiful with plenty of space to setup camp. The check in process was a breeze, the location was easy to find, and she greeted us upon arrival. We setup by a little creek and loved being able to hear the water flowing. The open sky was picturesque. The offered shuttle service to and from the fairgrounds was extremely well run by Tina and company. I would recommend staying here and plan to stay here again if I go to next year’s festival. Everything felt efficient and very coordinated.

Where to go
Ochoco National Forest
Prineville sits on the western end of the Ochoco National Forest, a nearly million-acre expanse of trees, canyons, rivers and lakes. Camping opportunities abound here, with dispersed camping and campgrounds throughout the forest plus plenty of private options.
Deschutes National Forest
Spread out over nearly 200 acres, this massive forest offers ample opportunity to hike, bike, fish, and kayak. Popular attractions within the forest include Newberry National Volcanic Monument and Mount Bachelor.
Warm Springs
Owned by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, this sunny part of the state is characterized by rugged, arid landscapes and plenty of wild mustangs. It's also home to a number of attractions, including the Museum at Warm Springs.
When to go
Prineville is at its busiest in July and August, when kids are on summer vacation, though this time of year can be a bit hot for some people, with highs in the upper 80s and little to no rainfall. For more pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds, the spring and fall shoulder seasons (in May and June and September and October, respectively) are ideal for many campers, with daytime highs in the upper 60s or 70s.
