Nestled just a quarter mile from the entrance of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, our glamping village sits on a scenic hill behind our cafe, offering stunning views of Mt. Scott and direct access to nearby hiking trails.
We currently feature three glamping wall tents- Zion, Selah, and Shiloh. Each tent includes a wooden deck and a framed queen-size bed, creating a cozy, romantic retreat you won't forget.
Our bathhouse includes two private rooms, each equipped with a camping toilet, pump sink, and thoughtful amenities for your comfort. Our outdoor shower will be refreshing after a long hike as well!
We have just installed two standing outdoor grills for your cooking needs. Both on the gravel parking lot level, one by the covered patio, the other by the picnic area. Bring your own charcoal, or add it on to your order and we will have it ready for you. Please remember to leave no trace, use trash recepticles and do not leave any food out for the wildlife.
Bringing a pet? They are very welcome here, however, we now require a $30 pet fee due to additional cleaning and potential damages. Please add this on to your booking.
By June 1, 2025, we'll be adding two spacious yurts, each accommodating 6-8 sleeping bags or cots - perfect for families, kids, or groups looking for a unique outdoor stay.
For those seeking a more rustic experience, we also offer nine primitive walk-up campsites.

Darrell and Kelli were outstanding and welcoming hosts — attentive to needs, offering fantastic sightseeing information, and above all being friendly as all get out. Cooler weather camping is a breeze with *the* coziest diner at the bottom of the hill. Will certainly be back.

Honest review. Darrel was amazing. Wears a lot of hats and makes sure we are taken care of. He suggested to use the restaurant bathroom from 30 min before open to 30 minutes after close. During the night there are camping toilets in private rooms behind the restaurant. Not my favorite but they have long open hours so it really is for just in the middle of the night use. We decided not to cook but there were grills available outside. Had a few common seating areas for watching sunsets and sunrises. Common campfire that Darrel started and provided wood for, himself. We ate all our meals at the cafe. They are very considerate of food allergies preferences no sugar or lots of sugar if needed. Full bar, the chocolate drop martini was delish. Coffee was awesome. Had almond and oatmilk low sugar. Healthy choices from quinoa, black bean burgers house cut fries, latino favorites like hueve rancheros, teas, yerba mate, beer. Turmeric lattes. Very fresh tasting and yummy. They had real egg or imitation eggs or “cheggs” also had real chicken or crushed chickpeas in the quesadillas. Lots of choices. Servers were prompt and kind. The room was cute in decor, bed was comfortable and I have lower sacrum problems and it didn’t hurt to sleep on it. I was hoping there would be a tent heater but there was not one so we used the blankets that were very comfy on the bed and an extra sleeping bag and was very cozy. The tents did have condensation. An authentic opportunity for a stand out adventure can be discovered in Southestern Oklahoma at The Healthy Hippie Cafe within the charming town of Medicine Park! Well said that it is a full sensory experience set in the parameters of the wildlife refuge where both primitive and canvas tent dwellers can enjoy the beauty of the surrounding hills and view of Mt. Scott upon sunrise. A lovely trail ascends to a panoramic perspective of the historical towns settings. We heard coyotes calling out after sundown, the lovely fall breezes passing through the tent windows, the brilliance of the stars, and even a hooting owl passing by!
We traveled here to celebrate our youngest son's 6th birthday. He enjoyed every minute of it! The hosts, Darrell and Kelli are super personable and make themselves readily available. This little piece of property is set off the main road adjacent to The Healthy Hippie Cafe. However, with the exception to the minimal passing vehicles in the earlier evening and some talented musicians that could be heard in the distance, all was brought solely to the sounds of nature alone soon after. We slept in the Shiloh tent. It was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Bathrooms are available and an outdoor shower if that suits you.
We started our morning with a short hike on the property and breakfast in the Cafe. Super! The bar provides many fantastic options. GREAT coffee! REAL food! Ambiance is legit. This place is crushworthy. Thank you, Darrell & Kelli!

Weekend Trip to Hippie Hill
I really enjoyed my stay at Hippie Hill! I booked the Zion Tent for my first night of my stay in the Wichita Mountains. I had never been to the area and it was nice to have a stay in town to get the lay of the land before venturing into the park. The bed was super comfortable, and the tent was nice and warm and protected me from the heavy winds. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. It is right in the center of the town and the cafe provided a delicious meal and coffee before I started out on my hike the next day. My only critique is that the guest outhouse was locked overnight, but I was able to use the cafe bathroom during business hours. There is some road noise so it’s not necessarily a secluded sort of experience. But it was nice to enjoy a soft bed after a long day of travel before camping the next 2 nights! Again the owners and the cafe were really nice. I’d definitely recommend this spot for someone who wants to enjoy Medicine Park during their trip to the Wildlife Refuge.

We loved camping in the Selah tent! Exploring the trails near by with our toddler was the perfect way to spend the morning. & nothing beat being able to just walk down for a delicious breakfast! We loved our stay & will definitely be back again!

Excellent glamping accommodations up there at Hippie Hill. You can watch the sun set over Mt. Scott right from your front steps, or from the viewing platform. Need a bite to eat or an espresso to get you moving? There's an affiliated restaurant with a scratch kitchen and amazing coffee.
Darrell was an incredibly attentive host, and clearly takes his role of host to heart. This attitude permeates all the staff of the adjacent Healthy Hippie Cafe. Everyone seemed like old friends newly met. I can't say enough positive things about the folks there.
The tent was great. Modern. Well appointed. It was a great experience all around. Darrell even went so far as to provide a battery operated ice air conditioner, a bluetooth speaker/flashlight, and a rechargeable fan.
If you're lucky, you can hear the elk calling in the hills in the mornings, or the coyotes yipping in the evening.
The entrance to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is just up the road. This might be the closest accommodations to the entrance, and all that this amazing place has to offer (Don't hold me to that though, maybe there's some place closer that I didn't see.). An easy hiking trail connects the facility to the Medicine Park Aquarium.
10/10 would stay (and eat, and explore, and relax, and hang out) again.

Weekend Trip to Hippie Hill
My daughter and I loved camping at Hippie Hill, it was such a peaceful and beautiful little spot. We stayed in the Shiloh tent - the bed was very comfy and it was so cool being able to see Mt Scott right from the camp site. And the cafe had delicious meals! I had the tacos and my daughter had some sweet potato fries, it was all amazing. :) The hosts were so welcoming and gave us helpful tips on where to paddleboard and play in the water to cool off. I would definitely go back again!

We absolutely loved camping here. We opted for the wall tent and we loved the “icy freeze” fan. In the morning there was the lightest rain, so we enjoyed the sound of the rain on the canvas, but thanks to a nice breeze, we never got too hot.
It was too windy for a fire, but The Healthy Hippy Cafe had Taco Tuesday with the best jack fruit tacos I ever had! The drinks were fantastic and there was even an open mic night. Live music, great food, and a night spent in nature.
I’m not a seasoned camper by any means—I’m more of a spa day girl, but this was incredible!

What a great experience! Pretty views, coyotes in the background. And right by the wildlife refuge. The camp is just behind a great little restaurant and bar. Kelly & Darrell were great hosts. It is important to recognize you are out in nature - landscape, critters, snakes are not your friends - but I felt safe and comfortable the whole trip. Loved Hippie Hill!

This was such a fun stop along the way on our road trip. The accommodations were lovely, camping but upgraded! We loved the Hippie Cafe restaurant (carrot dogs 10/10) and being able to walk to town was perfect. Medicine Park is a surprising little gem of a town. Darrell and Kelli are very friendly and accommodating. Would for sure recommend their little slice of happiness to other campers passing through 💚

We loved staying here. I can attest they are built solid. We experienced high winds while there and it held then the next night we had rain and the rain sounded so wonderful on the tent. I do recommend bring your own fan. They provide an icybreeze cooler which is great for the night. We would definitely stay again!!!! Great location to see Mt Scott. Rode my bicycle from Hippie Hill thru the refuge. Went hiking and fishing. Loved taking a shower out in nature.
