Once a cotton farm this land was purchased to become a working flower farm and respite opportunity for individuals to come enjoy the land as it was created. It is filled with wildlife and wildflowers. There are over 30 acres to sit and just listen to the stillness and gaze at the stars. Take in the beautiful sunsets and just reset, relax and recharge your bodies. There is no electricity or water but we make sure that we offer non potable water and a fire ring for your visit. We have 161.64 acres which has 4 gravel access points at different parts of the property. The property has several oil sites and it does have cattle, however, it has largely been untouched since the 1970s, meaning we have old growth and new growth for trees and natural habitat for wildlife. This property has been in the family for almost 5 generations and we are working to rebuild after nearly 50 years of no activity. From my covered front porch I can hear owls, coyotes, hawks and other birds while watching deer munching in the open meadow. The property has three low water level ponds, meaning no fish - but the opportunity to hike, bike, horseback ride or UTV into and out of the creek(s). Up and down rolling hills. Watch a thunderstorm roll over the horizon while watching lightning from miles away. Enjoy stargazing and naming that constellation. The ponds do not have fish, but we are going to be stocking them within the next year. There are plenty of open spaces or covered (by trees) spaces to camp. We are working to restore the property including rebuilding several structures that were destroyed in the May 3rd, 1999 tornado. So, there is always a project or two in progress around the early 1900s homestead. We do not have any prepared sites so, you can set up camp near the house for easy access to potable water or out in the pasture. The choice is yours! Once you arrive we will work with you to help you decide.

I really loved the openess of the camping spot at Blank Canvas Hip Camp. The owner Amiee met me on the road adjacent to her property just as a huge thunderstorm was rolling in and directed me to the camp entrance. Set up my trailer on my spot just in time to watch a terrific lightning show against a vast north Texas backdrop. A great memory of my trip thru the length of Texas and one of the reasons I enjoy using the Hipcamp app so much! I would highly recommend Amies Hipcamp if your traveling thru North Texas.

The land was so beautiful, private, and remote. It was also very easy to navigate and 2wd accessible. Beware the sac spiders! There are many of them because of the geographical location. They are nocturnal so just make sure your tent is set up before nightfall. Unbeatable stay!

Farm-style camping one block from downtown Medicine Park. Plenty of room to spread out at this great location a short walk into town (we were there during a music festival, so it was nice not to be right in town). Colleen is a very accommodating and responsive host and will treat you to breakfast of her own farm raised eggs and jams and homemade biscuits and gravy on her veranda!

Yet another wonderful stay at Blank Canvas, lost count, fifth or sixth stay so far. Highlight was finally getting to meet Amie in person as she delivered the farm fresh eggs (from a neighbor) that we purchased along with our reservation. Just as lovely and kind as she has always been in all our communications over the years. Her site has always been a welcome break from the road, and is easily accessible in a Class-B (what we drive) or likely any model car or camper you have.

Lost track of how many times we have stayed in the last three years (I think at least our fifth), but far and away our favorite place. Easy and straight forward directions from the highway (about 10 minutes off the highway) and well worth it for the peace, quiet, isolation, wide-open vistas, and dark skies for viewing the stars. Third time camping on Amie’s land. Was as peaceful as always with a sky filled with stars. If you like peace and quiet and dark skies when the moon is just a sliver look no further. Amie was as gracious and responsive as always, particularly considering we had to cancel last two scheduled stays due to weather and unexpected RV breakdown, we were looking forward to our return. A little bit off the highway, but directions are straightforward and well worth the extra few minutes so find the solitude you will experience.
