Bring a friend and rent this site in conjunction with some of our other sites or split up your camping trip with a night in our backcountry camp site. Located in the rolling Appalachian hills of Southeast Ohio. This farm has been in our family since 1869 when our relatives settled here from Germany. Originally farmed for cattle and sheep with many orchards over the years our property is now mostly mature forest. Southeast Ohio, including our property is known for its hilly topography and microclimates. Hills range from 400 to 1,100 feet.
Nearly 500 acres of land with an additional 200+ acres of Wayne National Forest adjacent to our farm and close proximity to other Wayne areas for outdoor activities. We have nearly 10 miles of available trails for hiking. Many activities can be done at or centered around our property. Such as excellent and challenging road biking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, kayaking and boating. We are two miles from the Little Muskingum River. A great river for kayak trips. The Wayne Kinderhook horse and hiking trail is roughly 5 miles from our location. Hike to the Irish Run Natural Land bridge trail also a short drive to the trailhead from our property. Ride your motorcycle up Rt. 26 a great Ohio byway for scenic driving. This is also a great home base for dual sport or adventure bike motorcycle riders to camp while adventuring along gravel roads through Appalachia. If motorcycles aren't your method of entertainment and travel. Bring your horse and ride on several of our trails.
From steep ascents to long flat ridge lines, you will have lots of time to immerse yourself with nature while hiking. We're next to a section of the Wayne National Forest and a short drive to other similar Wayne activity sites. If you like to camp, but don't want the busy public park experience then you will enjoy the privacy of our camping location.
We are also only about a 20-minute drive to downtown Marietta. Where you can find restaurants, bars, and many other fun activities.

This campsite is beautifully situated on an active Amish farm in Chesterhill, Ohio. There’s a fire pit and outhouse for your use. There are no hookup’s, but you can bring your off grid camper or tents.
Emanuel and Lilly operate a stunning 60+ acre farm, wood shop, gardens, and chicken coop. Both are wonderful people and always a pleasure to just sit back and have a nice leisurely chat. They belong to a traditional Amish group, so there isn't electricity on site.
There are special booking guidelines because the family does not have telephone, however, someone is generally available at the farm house. Once you set up on site Emanuel will stop down to say hello and make sure your settled in just fine.

Nestled in the hills of Monroe County, Ohio, Sparkman Lake (approx. 3 acres) sits on 40+ acres of the wooden area directly off State Route 145. We are located between Malaga & Miltonsburg. Our camp spots are very easy to drive right up to. They are overlooking a small bit of woods. Wake up in the morning to birds chirping. The area has a large clearing for children to play. but the privacy you need to enjoy a nice evening around the campfire. There is a pond for fishing, and a nice deck that is avaliable to use. There is 25 acres here and you are welcome to use it for your enjoyment. We do have fencing to keep our horses in so please we ask to not climb over the fences as they will shock you as they are electric. You will see chickens goats, rabbits, horses, dogs, and cats on our hobby farm. The wildlife you may see include squirrels, deer and racoons fox etc. Located 2 miles from interstate 70 for easy access. NewConcord is just 3 1/2 miles down the road and is the home town of John Glenn you can visit his home place there, or pick up grocerys. Cambridge is the next town away at 8 miles and you can go shopping there, We are also near the Wilds, Blue Rock State Park, and Jesse Owens State park. Hope to see you soon!

You'll notice that our property is also home to horses. They live and graze freely on the land, so from time to time, they may wander near your campsite. The horses are gentle and friendly, and many guest enjoy their quiet company during their stay. We do ask that you admire them respectfully. Please don't feed them, and give them space if they get curious and come close. They're part of the land's charm, and we're happy to share their presence with you.
Old School Farm and Workshop is a 40-acre modern homestead located in the heart of Ohio's Appalachian Country. We are 10 miles from Salt Fork State Park, Ohio's largest State Park and Ohio's Bigfoot Capital. While there, visit the new Eco-Discovery Center. Boating? We are only 6 miles to the Morning Glory boat ramp. Take your kayak on the Tuscarawas River, Simonds-Heller Park is only 13 miles away. Ride bike on the Great Guernsey Trail or check out their self-serve Kayak rental kiosk. We are at the back door of Ohio's Amish Country, and only a 45 minute drive to one of the largest conservation centers in the world, The Wilds. Our camp spots are very easy to drive right up to. They are overlooking a small bit of woods. Wake up in the morning to birds chirping. The area has a large clearing for children to play. but the privacy you need to enjoy a nice evening around the campfire. There is a pond for fishing, and a nice deck that is avaliable to use. There is 25 acres here and you are welcome to use it for your enjoyment. We do have fencing to keep our horses in so please we ask to not climb over the fences as they will shock you as they are electric. You will see chickens goats, rabbits, horses, dogs, and cats on our hobby farm. The wildlife you may see include squirrels, deer and racoons fox etc. Located 2 miles from interstate 70 for easy access. NewConcord is just 3 1/2 miles down the road and is the home town of John Glenn you can visit his home place there, or pick up grocerys. Cambridge is the next town away at 8 miles and you can go shopping there, We are also near the Wilds, Blue Rock State Park, and Jesse Owens State park. Hope to see you soon!

You'll notice that our property is also home to horses. They live and graze freely on the land, so from time to time, they may wander near your campsite. The horses are gentle and friendly, and many guest enjoy their quiet company during their stay. We do ask that you admire them respectfully. Please don't feed them, and give them space if they get curious and come close. They're part of the land's charm, and we're happy to share their presence with you.
Old School Farm and Workshop is a 40-acre modern homestead located in the heart of Ohio's Appalachian Country. We are 10 miles from Salt Fork State Park, Ohio's largest State Park and Ohio's Bigfoot Capital. While there, visit the new Eco-Discovery Center. Boating? We are only 6 miles to the Morning Glory boat ramp. Take your kayak on the Tuscarawas River, Simonds-Heller Park is only 13 miles away. Ride bike on the Great Guernsey Trail or check out their self-serve Kayak rental kiosk. We are at the back door of Ohio's Amish Country, and only a 45 minute drive to one of the largest conservation centers in the world, The Wilds. There are so many things to do in this beautiful region of Ohio.

this place is absolutely stunning! it’s very remote but i felt super safe here! the showers and bathroom are wonderful and there’s really good hot water! this is the prefect get away and i can’t recommend it enough! the hosts are wonderful and super helpful!!! my only note is that the roads are a little gravelly on the way so drive safely!!

What a killer spot. Lizzies RV Retreat is peaceful, remote, and just about perfect. The dark skies are unreal for stargazing, and the camping area has everything you could want. Fire pit, composting toilet, elevated deck for tent campers, cooking tools, and even a 50 amp hookup for those of us who like a little juice in the trailer.
The property backs right up to Wayne National Forest with trails leading straight out from camp. There are vernal pools to check out and plenty of wildlife. Coyotes howling, owls hooting, and total quiet otherwise. You’re only about 15 minutes from Marietta too, where you can grab a drink and some great food at Black Diamond Distillery or hit up the local shops downtown.
Jay was an awesome host. Super friendly, stopped by to chat, shared some cool history about the land, and showed us his on site camper that he remodeled from top to bottom. It looks fantastic and is available to rent.
Jay rides too, so for the motorcyclists out there, this spot is perfect for motorcycle camping. Routes like 26 and 800 are nearby and make for some great rides.
Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back.

We absolutely loved this spot. Very secluded, which was exactly what we needed for a reset weekend. Only one other plot we are aware of this property, and it wasn’t in use (a small cabin on the other side of a tree line).
Nestled in the Appalachian foothills, the lush greenery and vibrant fall colors made this plot especially perfect.
We loved the meadow, and having such a large, secluded space to ourselves for the weekend. We will be back!

Really great little site. Lots of fun touches that we don’t see often at Hipcamp spots- a nice campfire spot, a picnic table, paw paws (yum!), privacy… and the toilet!! So clean and didn’t smell like anything but the wood the outhouse was built with. That was amazing, honestly. We used a long extension cord and plugged our camper in at the back part of the site, off the road. Worked beautifully. Plenty of sun for our solar panels for boondocking, if we had brought them. Will definitely star this spot!

The owners were very nice and interesting to talk to. The site was well maintained and had plenty of privacy, you felt quite far from the other campsite. A porta-potty was provided which was nice. Plenty of animals to watch and be entertained by! If you need perfect quote to sleep I’d recommend taking ear plugs as the animals can be a little loud in the early morning, but that’s expected for camping on a farm!

Great Hosts, Great Communication!
Stayed for 2 nights and the property is very clean and well kept. Plenty of fish in pond, Large Mouth Bass, Striped Perch, and Blue Gills.
No cell service so you can unwind. Had a peddle boat for use, be we didn’t try it. Heard Coyotes in the evening. It was a wonderful weekend. Highly Recommend.
