This location in Ohio is about a 10-minute walk to Dillon Dam, Reservoir and Lake! The road that was there was called Yelp Town Hollow Road. The road that this camp was on had to be raised when they put the dam in, they even had to move the one room school house! Black Hand Gorge preserve isn't far from the camp, lots of hiking and bicycle trails. Dillon State Park is 10-15 miles away with trails for horses, walking and biking. About 3,000 acres of State and Federal Land is right in our backyard! Learn more about this land:Set your tent up in a wooded area or near a stream. Great star gazing and forest bathing. The area is in the Yelptown Hollow Valley, the road and one room school house Yelptown School are reminiscent of a bygone era. The old road bed is near camping and old school house has relocated to a site nearby. Come enjoy the laid back ambience of the area! Peaceful, solitude, nearby stream.

We had a great time at the swimming hole- the host Carlos answered all of our questions and the location was so cool. We took two 8 year old boys and they were in heaven fishing and playing in the creek. We are already aiming on bringing them back in the spring. Nice and flat terrain for our tent and picnic table was clutch. Definitely would recommend.

Wow, what an amazing stay! Carlos was such a friendly and helpful host, and his directions made getting there super easy. The campsite was beautifully set up and had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The creek was wonderful and we loved waking up to the peaceful surroundings. You can really tell how much care has gone into this place. We’re already planning our next trip back!

This site was just what we were looking for! We stayed in a rooftop tent on our truck and were able to drive right to the site and found a great level spot to park. Our dog was happy to be able to run around. The campsite was clean and firewood was there waiting for us. Our hosts were responsive when we had questions. We would definitely come back if we’re in the area again.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was right by the river, with a covered pick nick table, plenty of free firewood, a place to fish or swim. There were a number of spots to pitch a tent with out roots, nice even ground. A place to cook was also a nice touch.

Weekend Trip to The McIntosh Pines
Beautiful backwoods space w a scenic view and trails. It was a great way to escape for a weekend away w the dogs and our rooftop tent. With most of the leaves off the trees, we we able to see a gigantic hawks' nest although it appeared the couple had not yet returned for the season. It was spectacular to see amongst the backdrop of the creek valley. Very kind host and hostess.

Great little piece of land. It had lots of little things other places don’t have, like hammocks and floats for the creek. Access to the swimming hole and pebble beach are down some pretty steep embankments, but there are ropes there to pull yourself up, if you’re so inclined. The shelter over the picnic bench was nice too, though rain wasn’t a factor for me. I didn’t time it, but it’s about a 60-90 second walk from the parking area to the campsite. Carlos has a cart there for hauling your stuff to the site. Instead of making 4 trips carrying things, I made it in just one trip with the cart. Wanting peace and quiet on my solo trip, I was a little concerned about road noise due to the proximity to the road. It ended up being a non-issue for me, as the road was sparsely traveled during the day, and almost no overnight traffic (that I noticed!).

One of the best campsites we have been to so far. Back in the woods nestled on the side of a hill with a view of the ravine and creek. We loved that it was the only site on the property and was very private. Having a campsite stick out is hard because they are a lot of times very similar, but the large fire ring, trash bag lift, wood chopping logs, plenty of flat tent spots, and great view really make this place stand out. We can’t wait to come back and explore more. Thanks for hosting us

This campsite is GORGEOUS. Acres of land to wander, multiple great sites for hammocks and tents. Incredibly secluded, far from the owners' house and tons of trees for privacy. The stream was mostly dry thanks to the recent drought, but we still managed to get water for emergency fire extinguishing. There were a couple benches, a good table, a really nice fire ring, and even a little shovel (the site is truly primitive, you might need that shovel). We could hear Route 62, but it was quiet overnight and the sleeping was excellent. 10/10 will book again!

I had a wonderful time tent camping on Chad & Elizabeth’s land! It was a very tidy campsite with a very nice fire pit and plenty of flat ground for your tent! So nice being able to walk some of the trails and enjoy the late summer weather.

This place was great! We had 9 people with 4 large tents, which is kind of tight but we utilized the well maintained driving path for a tent and to play Cornhole. They only rent to one person at a time so the entire wooded area is all yours!
Plenty of trails to explore and we seen deer every morning.
Absolutely be back!

Really enjoyed the peacefulness of this Hipcamp for one night. Since there is only one spot, we had the place to ourselves and that’s what makes the great as you can enjoy some quiet time in the woods without other campers nearby. Fire ring was really nice and we purchased a bundle of firewood which was at the site when we arrived. Would highly recommend for those seeking a simple, quiet and laid back time in the woods. It’s far enough away from the city, but also close enough to where it’s a not a long haul to get to.

I've stayed at McIntosh Pines now 4 times and I will continue to return. The site is gorgeous, sitting atop a ridge with nice views down into a creek valley. I really appreciated the upgrades to the site since the last time I visited -- a new fire pit, the new bridge, and the beer cap tree! Definitely take the time to walk the trails in the meadow and through the woods, down into the creek valley.
