Our accommodations range from primitive tent-camping to "glamping" in one of our tiny off-grid cabins. The sites are spaced out for privacy and each site offers a private picnic table and fire pit. There are two shared privies/outhouses which have basic composting toilets (not flushing). A grassy parking area is provided near the road, however, ALL SITES ARE WALK-IN (with the exception of site #1). ***Please take note that this is private property and the host lives on site. But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper. We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river). Located 15 min. from Chillicothe, 5 min. from Tecumseh, 30 min. from Hocking Hills parks, the property offers rolling fields and woodlands, private hiking, two ponds, and scenic views in a peaceful, natural setting. Outdoor fire ring for cooking out. Firewood provided. Seclusion! Though our home and farm are located on the property, they are not in sight or hearing of the cabin. There are no other cabins on the property, and no other houses or buildings are visible from the cabin. It is quite private. Views of the surrounding fields, woods, and hills are included in the photos. Deer, turkey, foxes, birds, butterflies, and other wildlife are plentiful. Private hiking. The cabin is approximately 220 square feet and sleeps two comfortably, though children are welcome. In addition to the full-sized bed, an adult-sized cot and toddler-sized mattress and extra bedding are available in the cabin. There is also room beside the cabin for a children's tent. Water source for washing and bathing is a rainwater cistern. There is both hot and cold running water. Drinking water will be provided, or guests may bring bottled water. There is no air conditioning. The eco-friendly, solar-powered, Amish-built cabin is naturally cool and comfortable. There are two fans. There is a heater. Composting toilet. The cabin has a microwave, electric lights, ceiling fan, portable fan, and dorm-sized refrigerator. It is off-grid, solar powered with battery backup, so power is available after dark. Propane cookstove and oven. Most people have cell service on the property, though it is spotty. There is no wifi at the cabin, and no television. Enjoy a break from technology and the peace and quiet of nature. There is a French press in the kitchen for making your own coffee using the propane cook stove. Outdoor scenic photos are taken either from the cabin porch or within view of the cabin. We enjoy hosting others who appreciate the peace of this natural setting.

I live on the property in a separate cabin, with three indoor cats - Artemis, Luna, and Nemo. They can hang with you or I can keep them away depending on your preference. The Sugar Shack is the perfect secluded primitive stay! Be prepared to take one of the wagons if you packed a lot of stuff. Aimee did a fantastic job utilizing her land for campers, It’s family friendly and there’s plenty to do. The wood burning stove was the perfect addition to our cold autumn evenings, it makes it so cozy while settling in for the night. When we first got there, Aimee had the stove packed for us already and a bundle of wood. I would recommend a trip here 10/10!!

Such a cute and unique place! I originally got Hipcamp to find some places for tent camping but thought the cabin was too cute. We loved the whole set up and farm. It’s private and well cared for. We loved the veggie and produce stand by the firewood. We also had a lovely farm cat stay with us for the second evening which was adorable. We are not afraid of bugs and spend most weekends camping but there were definitely a surplus of stink bugs in the cabin which made me a bit meh, mostly they were present in the daytime so not terrible at night. Guessing just a seasonal thing but definitely something to consider if you’re weird with bugs. Otherwise, everything was perfect!!

This place was truly magical. I did not want to leave. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and spent the weekend snuggled in the woods at the Sugar Shack. We enjoyed all of the trails connecting through the property, took advantage of the sauna, and took some homemade goodies home from the farm stand. I'd love to go back in the winter and enjoy the wood burning stove inside the shack. It wasn't quite warm enough for us to take advantage of it this trip.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. We were celebrating her birthday and the accommodations were perfect. This campsite is secluded and quiet. We needed a canister of propane and Aimee came through for us using venmo. Quick and easy communication. I would suggest packing light for this campsite however, there are 2 steep hills to conquer if you use the provided wheel barrels it can be a bit strenuous. Also the solar lights inside the a-frame didn’t work and neither did the white bulb lights outside. We brought plenty of lighting so it wasn’t that big of a deal. The trails were fun to navigate during our stay, overall a beautiful property!

It is a rustic site with a small cabin and areas to pitch tents. The area where the cabin sits is all pines. Secluded area yet close to town. Easy access from State Route 33. Walk in or drive in depending on your vehicle you drive. The cabin consist of a fold out bed, table and heater. Propane is provided as is a rustic portable ice chest inside the cabin.
