4 nights at Hidden Lakes Family Campground

We loved this campground and it was perfect for us! Hidden gem!! This is campground is not for the faint at heart! A true nature/wildlife and fisherman’s delight for camping to get away from the noise, hustle,bustle technology. Strict rules protects this well maintained and quiet area (read the rules) The small red firelights at night makes it for a true camping experience to appreciate the noises that nature holds. Bring a flashlight there are no bright electrical bright lights anywhere expect the front entrance. The dark sky star gazing tops off this experience by allowing to get up and close with nature. We were able to relax and decompress. Spacious spaces gives privacy from the neighbors. There is tent and group camping so those spaces are closer together. Few sites have sewer. Rest have Water and electricity. (did not take photos of the group sites, just where I was at.) there are options for pull through and it is spacious enough for big rigs and mega rigs. Friendly service from the hosts/owners. It was one of my favorite places to have been. They did have activity planned for the kids. Comfy from being away from Home with amenities to make it a great stay. They have three ponds for fishing and swimming. Close to attractions and 5 lighthouses within an hr and major shopping areas. We loved this country campground and would camp there again !

Weekend Trip to The Farm at Grand River

Hosts were most gracious. Free access to farm animals, my son especially liked the horse. Weather was wet the week before we went. I did manage to get stuck in the mud. They pulled me out, no problem. Bundles of wood were affordable and plentiful. We plan to go back.

1 night at White Walnut Farm

Beautiful secluded orchard campsite! Other visible camp was unoccupied so we had the place to ourselves. Had a little trouble finding the correct driveway from the road, but host was responsive and there is signage designating each campsite. Trains going by and horns periodically if that isn’t your thing.. wasn’t an issue for us. Overall great stay for the night!

Weekend Trip to Camp Hiyo

I loved camping at Camp HiYo! The kids loved the pool and we the adults loved the live music concert. It was very clean and family oriented! Will definitely go back for our next camping trip!

Weekend Trip to Sweet Hill

We enjoyed camping here. It is a beautiful property and the hosts were very friendly and super responsive. It was just as described. It is right next to the street, so there is some traffic noise but it didn’t bother us. We will come back if we’re in the area again.

The site is beautiful and easy to access. There are many areas to visit in the area. The host was absolutely wonderful. Everything was as advertised and again the host was very accomodatng and helpful.

The campsite on Hannah's property is secluded and set up very nicely. My husband and I spent two nights there and we're very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this spot. It is close to Blossom Music Center. If you are seeing a show, this is a great place to camp!

The campground was really nice! Everything was clean and in great shape. My girls loved all the wildlife in the area and the fishing was good. We will definitely be back!

A great stay for an amazing price! Bathrooms! Showers! A floating sauna right in Lake Erie. We loved the peaceful nature reserve trail. There were also entertainment and bar options which we didn’t partake in but it’s nice to have that option. Easy to get to-all great!

This was a great place to spend a couple of nights! It’s close to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and close to a ton of places to eat! It also has a small fishing pond, but in keeping with my horrible track record as a fisherman, I did not catch anything! I would definitely recommend this little RV spot to anyone!

It was absolutely wonderful. Amazing views of the waterway. Enjoyed the hot tub on the upper deck with expansive views of the city lights and the boats and floating cabins. It was a perfect spot to rest and enjoy.

7 nights at Heartland Homestead

I liked camping at Mother Oak Campsite at Heartland Homestead. My hosts were very generous, giving me extra sleeping bags when I needed them to stay warm. When the torrential downpour of rain collapsed my tent, they let me sleep in the barn and gave me use of the cabin for the day after I paid an extra $25 to nap in it, until I found a longer term option to live in on Airbnb. I was camping to give myself more time to find an Airbnb host willing to host me. I successfully completed my mission. Watch out for ticks. They are everywhere. They have a cute and friendly barn cat named Moonbeam that became my best friend. I spent lots of time cuddling with her. She likes to make biscuits a lot though, and her claws are very sharp. I sang songs to the goats and the cows who came over to me to listen to me singing The Sound of Music, The Happy Wanderer, and Sing A Song by The Carpenters. The goats came up to the fence to be petted and eat dandelions and to lick me. The chickens mostly made a lot of noise and ran around but they were pretty to look at. I was really sad to know they were all going to be eaten (except Moonbeam) because I am a vegan and I want them all to live to old age on a farm animal sanctuary. It breaks my heart they are all going to die soon. But they are living really good lives right now, with plenty of room to roam, and are very well cared for by the entire family. I just wish they got to live them all the way until their natural deaths from old age.

We don't currently grow the crops that we did but we have planted some wine grapes in the last several years. I started this 2 acre homestead earlier this year. It is home to myself, my three dogs, a couple ducks, turkeys, and a crap ton of chickens. I’m very close to all the creature comforts like Walmart and Target, but the property is wooded on three sides so you feel like you’ve gotten away from the city. There is a small creek my dogs love to play in and a large field for frisbee and star gazing. There are hikes close by at Little Turtle Pond and many restaurants within 10 minutes like Woodys, NauitiVine and Magic City Brewery. If you enjoy boating Nimistila Reservoir (electric only very kayak friendly) and Portage Lakes are a quick 12 minute drive. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Depending on the time of year + season, you may see our goats, cows, pigs, chickens, or more! We may have pick-your-own tomatoes, pumpkins, + flowers as well Glamping Cabins We have two glamping cabins that include beds and lanterns so you get the feel of sleeping in nature but comfortably. Each cabin has a picnic table, fire pit, and charcoal grill. One cabin has a queen-size bed and the second has a full-size bed and a trundle bed with 2 twin-size mattresses. The cabins do not have electric or water. A porta-potty is located near the barn (a 5 minute walk) and a lug-able loo or portapotty will be available closer to the cabins depending on when you stay. We are happy to help get your gear back to the cabins with the farm cart and then it is an 8-minute walk along a hay pasture to the parking area. Tent Camping Our tent camping spots are located under Mother Oak, a 100-year-old oak tree in the middle of our farm. With ample shade, a fire pit, and nearby portapotty, you can relax under the stars into the night. Hiking trails weave through the back of the property and you are welcome to explore those as well. Because we are a working homestead and farm, a few things are true: -Sometimes there’s mud. We suggest boots for walking around the property and in the woods. -Our farm animals are great - and may also bite. Please do not pet or chase them. We are happy to arrange opportunities to interact with the animals. Just ask! -Not always, but at times, our neighbors will start farming early in the morning and you can hear their machinery. All of our sites have privacy but are not truly remote. We want you to enjoy yourselves but please be mindful that our house is on the property as well as our neighbors. Music needs to be turned down to a low level by 11 PM. We can accommodate pop-up campers, camper vans, etc near Mother Oak as well. Please message with any questions before reserving. Additional fees would apply. We can also accommodate larger tent camping groups depending on the day. Additional fees would apply. The homestead is located near 58 so you can hear cars during the day and night. The cabins are about a ½ mile from the road so the noise is greatly reduced.
