Home Afarm

7 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents11 acres · Seaman, OH
Our little hobby farm was procured in December 2021. While we're just getting started our new home, we hope you'll enjoy sharing the orchard, meadows, forest, and swimming pond with us. "Roads go ever ever on, under cloud and under star. Yet feet that wandering have gone turn at last to home afar." Learn more about this land: Come relax atop the Appalachian foothills of southern Ohio. Enveloped in the heart of Tranquility Wilderness Area, our 11 acres has a mix of native pawpaw, peach, pear, and persimmon trees, deciduous forest, cedar woods, wild meadows, a small swimming pond, and a large, accessible field for ample flat for tents and room to play. Trails through the woods are being worked on, and facilities expanded as the seasons pass. Mellow nature’s soundtrack of birds, crickets, and frogs and enjoy an incredibly clear view of the night sky. Hiking, kayaking, biking, birding, fishing, hunting, swimming, and more are available at several state parks and historical sites like within 10-30 minutes of the farm. Amish country is likewise near at hand with several bakeries, markets, furniture shops, and greenhouses. Our primitive sites are spaced for privacy, with a gravel parking area near the cottage and additional field parking is available near the road on the opposite site of the main house. While most sites are walk-in only, the upper field sites may be able to be parked near and the Lower Meadow, Boneyard, and Oak Grove may be able to be driven to, as weather and site conditions permit.

Misty Ridge Farm

3 sites · RVs, TentsCamp Springs, KY
My farm is a family friendly horse boarding and lesson farm. We are unique in that we specialize in recreational riding for all ages. Trail riding is a great way to experience horses and since we camp in all parts of the country we though it made sense to let others pitch a ten here.  We have loads of possibility around the farm to camp.  You can stay close to bathroom and civilization or take a hike to the top of one of our 800 foot hills!Learn more about this land:We have a grassy flat area out behind our barn for tent camping. Parking is within 200 feet from camp site. But adventurous people are able to hike up an 800 foot Hill and camp up on a ridge with a beautiful view of the area. In winter you can see Ohio River.  Possible tent site locations along a large creek. We are a working horse farm first!  So camper space is not always available.  Just depends on hay and horse trailer activity.  Sorry!!

Cross Winds Farm

2 sites · RVs, Tents150 acres · Falmouth, KY
Many many years ago, this property was known as Cross Winds Farm due to the crosswinds coming in from all directions at times. After being sold twice, the purchasing owner renamed the farm Quail Run. Did you ever hear the superstition that renaming a farm can bring bad luck? It appears to be true in this instance, as the owner of Quail Run experienced several financial difficulties and the property eventually sold at auction. About 8 years later the property came up for sale again. It was at this point we purchased the land and built the farm and our home. In researching the history of the property, we came across the original name and decided to restore to original name.Learn more about this land:Enjoy the spectacular sunrises and sunsets from this working horse farm while sharing the rolling hills and hiking trails with nature. The stars have never appeared brighter without the light pollution found in more densely populated areas. You will pull in on a private gravel road which runs along top a ridge. Once you arrive at the horse barn, parking is very nearby and we will direct you where to pull in. We will park you in as level of a spot as we can for you. Depending on number of other RVers and first arrivals, your parking may be on a bit more of a slope. Please note, you will be parking in a grassy area and be prepared in the event mother nature were to decide to bring rain. Heavy amounts of rain coupled with a heavy rig could lead to difficulties pulling out if you aren't prepared ahead of time with the proper equipment. We are happy to provide a tour of our Equine facility and what we do here

Happy Hughes Hill

This property is our family farm where we have lived for over 40 years. My mother, son and I live in one of the houses located on the property. I was looking for something to do with the property when I came across Hipcamp. If people like camping here, I plan to make improvements to the camping area. We hope you enjoy your time here! Learn more about this land: We have 10 acres in the country. It is normally quiet and peaceful. Fields are flat with some ruts and have trees on three sides. Deer, rabbits and other wildlife can be seen. Wild blackberries grow throughout the field. Shade trees are available. I have mowed 'cubby holes' that have more trees around them for those who want more privacy.  Fire pits will be provided as the weather allows. You choose where to camp, so you get to pick the amount of privacy that you want! Calm pets are welcome, as long as they remain on a leash/tie out. A camping stove and camping shower/toilet are available. We have various camping supplies - if you need something, please ask! We may have it. If you have a large group of campers, contact me. We'll see what we can get together for you! A small country store is about 5 minutes away, as well as a Christian Union church camp, in Nipgen. If you need a bigger store, Waverly is 20 minutes away and Chillicothe is 30 minutes away. Chillicothe offers an outdoor drama about Tecumseh, along with Hopewell Culture National Historical Park, Adena Mansion and Gardens. The Harris Dental Museum is in Bainbridge, as well as the Paxton Theater. There is also an Amish community that offers a general store and a bakery. Serpent Mound is about a 45 minute drive away. Dogwood Pass is about half an hour away outside Beaver.  State parks within an hour's drive: Pike Lake, Paint Creek, Rocky Fork, Lake White, Scioto Trails, Tar Hollow.  Available:  1 Shower/restroom tent with camping shower/portable toilet.  1 Full size air mattress 1 camp stove (bring your own propane) 2 outside metal lounge chairs without cushions 1 mini cooler that plugs into your car Depending on where you are in the field, you MIGHT be able to pick up our WIFI
