Weekend Trip to Grins & Pickin's CampFarm

The campsite was very nice! I wish we could have stayed longer. The duck eggs were great! Very quiet and serene with hearing the owls at night 😊 Next time through we'll bring the whole family for a night or two! We were even refunded for the wood when we weren't able to use it for a fire due to getting back much later than we hoped.

It's a wonderful placed, very nice people. Beautiful countryside, nice and quiet. We advise everybody who really want to camp in nature to visit this place.

Weekend Trip to Hemlock & Hobbit Forest

A perfect cozy spot for those spending time in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It was 10-15 minutes away from the trailheads we wanted to visit and from downtown Penisula. The bed was comfortable, and the whole cabin was welcoming and beautiful.

I loved tent camping here. I enjoyed hiking around the property. I hope to come back in every season. You have to order the cinnamon rolls, delicious!! I really enjoyed the solitude.

Second time here and would stay more often if I wasn't six hours away, great peaceful place that is out in the country but really close to the neat town of Millersburg which has not only all the old interesting parts of town but a modern outskirts with 100% anything you need. We tented again but did check out the new cabins Matt offers and they look super neat with wood stove and all!!

Weekend Trip to Tranquil Acres Cabins

We had a great time spending our weekend at Cozy Pine Cabin for my Husband’s birthday. The area was beautiful and peaceful. The cabins were also not too close from each other which is great! We enjoyed being in the Hot tub on a cold weather, We love the amenities especially the outdoor gas grill, fire pit (with free fire wood), whirlpool tub for two and many more!! I was also impressed with the host for being so responsive and for granting our request to make our stay convenient and memorable. Truly a star host! ✅Self check in and check out ✅Functional amenities ✅Good smelling sheets/linen ✅Very responsive and accommodating host Looking forward to be back in summer and see what activities they can offer! 👍

This really is a must visit cabin! Pj was a huge help when my wife and I and of course our fur baby came to stay during the new years. The cabin was so cozy, clean, and just perfect for some much needed relaxation. We will be back for sure!

Was the most beautiful cabin I have been to. Mr Pj was awesome I can't wait to get back there. Me and my daughter spent Christmas here and it was magical. They even had a Christmas 🎄 waiting on us. 1 night at Hemlock & Hobbit Forest

I didn't stay in the cedar cabin, it was too cold and the roof was leaking when I scheduled so the wonderful host graciously offered me her much cozier "hobbit" house, which was essentially the same size but warmer. I have to say it was one if the coolest eco friendly houses I've ever stayed in! Really thoughtful attention to details such as the assymetric construction based on the layout of the slope and hillside. An inspiring example of how human structures can interact organically with, and even be enhanced by the natural world. All of this is only to say the host is a really welcoming, and vibrant individual and such a wonderful property is surely an extension of their warm artistry.

2 nights at Ashcraft Hills

A beautiful place to disconnect and enjoy time in nature. The place is super cozy. Even our 2 year old & 4 month old enjoyed it. Our dog loved the open area she could run off leash safely & explore. Nothing but positives to say. The hosts are super friendly; making sure you’ve got everything you need!

Couldn't have had a better stay at a nicer place. The cabin had everything we could have needed. A full kitchen, nicely stocked, a full bathroom, and a beautiful view. Outside is set up perfect for a nice fire. Quiet, private stay. Hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. 10/10 recommend.

Turkey Hollow is nestled in the rolling hills of Holmes County Ohio. We are right on the edge of the largest Amish settlement in the nation. The primitive campground is in the corner of a small 40 acre farm owned by Matt Polcyn. He started the campground 8 years ago because of his love for nature and real camping. He enjoys traveling in many places in the States and the Caribbean islands and loves finding places off of the beaten path and not commercialized. Because of his interest and love for primitive camping he decided to open the campground in order to provide the same opportunity as a getaway primitive camping location that he tries to find when he travels. We now just added a in the trees, warm water rinse off area.

Grins & Pickin's CampFarm was created to share the outdoors with others. Growing food & flowers, camping & hiking is what we like to do. And we like sharing these activities. Our family oriented outdoor recreation facility offers primitive camping, PYO produce during the growing season, homesteading activities & nature-based programs. The peaceful 20-acre country farm has food gardens, a frog habitat pool, a barnyard for the chickens & ducks, a bluegill fishin' pond, a pollinator maze, a prairie garden, and an outdoor stage. After crossing a winding creek into 10 acres of woods, you may see deer, turkey, fox, coyote, mink, eagles & barred owls. In early spring, the peepers are peeping, wildflowers are abundant & the vernal pools welcome the wood frogs, salamanders and fairy shrimp. Summer brings on the bullfrogs, butterflies, dragonflies and fireflies. Fall is a great time to pull grapevine to make wreaths & to build stick forts in the woods. We cater to the tent camper so that we can hear frogs & owls instead of generators. But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper. We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river).
