Awesome spot!! Ample room for the dog to run around. The proximity of the river access was such a cool surprise! The weather was rather warm for November, so we could utilize the river. Super private. The wildlife/cattle are cool. Incredible stars at night. We had a bit of rain and a sort of crazy windstorm one night, but felt super secure in the structure. This is an ideal beginners “primitive” camping spot.

We had a wonderful time camping at The Oasis at Harmon Creek Farm! We were originally booked at Creek Front 4, but Cheryl kindly offered us the chance to move to Creek Front 5, which turned out to be perfect. She was very responsive and answered all our questions quickly, making sure we had a great experience from start to finish. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and well-maintained — the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. We’re already planning our next visit and inviting a few friends to join us. Highly recommend this lovely place!

Dope people. Quiet but nice and pleasant. No qualms with me staying multiple nights back to back and reserving every night individually. Good tips about farming when I asked and they sold me some nice homemade apple jam from a local neighbor. They have a whole fridge full of homemade meat from their farm! All in all nice. Also the farm is beautiful and the camp spot was truly very nice. Multiple places to put a tent. Super boxed in by trees which helped with cold weather. Camp fire pit. Chairs and a table. Big bad ass pond right there with a love seat. All in all a good stay. Thanks guys!

We absolutely love staying here! As seasoned campers, it’s in the top of our list of favorite places and we are so blessed that it’s not too far from home! The scenery is perfect and serene. If you’re looking for a place to escape the busyness of life and sit by a flowing creek for awhile, this is your spot! The farm store on site has fresh goodies, firewood and ice. The bath house is spotless and well equipped. The family that owns the farm will take very good care of you while you visit, but give you plenty of privacy

We recently stayed at Cheryl’s Farm on Hipcamp and it was a really lovely experience. They had a nice, private campsite with a beautiful pond and some adorable farm animals, which really made it special. There was a cute little farm store with convenient items and some tasty ice cream, which was a nice touch. They also had a bathhouse; though it only had one toilet and one shower, it still did the job. Overall, it was a really cool and enjoyable stay!

Great site! Beautiful, big, and private. The picnic table was huge and the fire pit was big and really nice. The best part was the TONS of complementary firewood. One of their dogs hung out with us and our dogs for a few hours before it got dark. There are also 2 barn kittens that hung out with us all night lol. Dayla and Denae were very sweet and generous hosts. We can't wait to go back!

Lovely place to camp. Very private and peaceful with the creek nearby. Hard to beat for a small group of campers looking to have their own space. Plenty of firewood was provided, a few extra chairs, and the A frame with the deck was oh so cute! There was plenty of room for a few tents. We didn’t use the grill. The toilet was a 5 gallon Lowe’s bucket with wood chips - primitive, but gets the job done! Not sure if this is an every night occurrence, but the cows in the nearby pasture were relatively noisy and interestingly never stopped moo-ing all night long. Wasn’t necessarily a bad thing for us (we kind of enjoyed it) but it wasn’t all that quiet. The stars were lovely on a clear night with no moon, though the nearby farms did contribute to some light pollution (understandably) so it wasn’t quite as dark as we were hoping for. We will definitely be back!

Uwharrie National Forest

Spanning over 50,000 acres, Uwharrie National Forest offers numerous hiking trails, fishing in its pristine lakes and rivers, and off-roading opportunities on designated off-highway vehicle trails. Fittingly named Boone’s Cave Park, wander the park’s 100+ acres—just like Daniel Boone did—on secluded forest hiking trails. Then, grab a bite at picnic shelters with stunning views of Yadkin River. Along the river, campers will find fishing spots and easy access for kayaking and canoeing. Keep an eye out for native wildflowers, butterflies, and diverse wildlife, including deer and hawks, as well. Campers can reserve their place in tent-exclusive primitive campgrounds with camping pads right in the park to spend multiple days in the wilderness.

Tanglewood Park

Only about 15 minutes from Mocksville by road, find Tanglewood Park—where campers can set up tents, park their RVs, and enjoy the park’s natural beauty.
