Sebastian Springs Retreat

We bought this amazing 2.5 acre wooded land with a spring and creek on it from our friends who already had a huge healing impact on the land. This land is quiet, it is in a neighborhood and back up to a cow farm. Everyone keeps to themselfs, we have three other rentals on the property to share community areas.

Waterfall camping close to CLT

1 site · RV, Tent2 acres · Bessemer City, NC
My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

North 40

10 sites · RVs, Tents57 acres · Norwood, NC
Learn more about this land:In this 40 acre track there are 2 hay fields, pasture, and forrest. From any area you camp🏕 the pond🏞, with fish, is in walking distance, so is a beautiful clear stream. ****Did I mention that this stream empties into Lake Tillary, yep, that is right. We are within walking distance to Lake Tillary and less than 5 mins to the boat landing. You may bring your boat and park it here while you camp. SPECIAL NOTE: There are animals here that you may pet once you have been properly introduced. You may bring your pets as long as they are vaccinated and behaved. If they fight with other animals or chase chickens or ducks you may want to test this upon your arrival. Unfortunately, you must keep them on leash at all times. Our County does have a leash law, and should property🌱🌹🌻🚜🚗📬🗑or animals🦌🐂🐏🐐🐰🦃🦆 be damaged or harmed you will be held responsible. For example, if your dog kills a chicken, you buy the chicken🐓🐔🐥. If they harm a horse🐎 or donkey🐴, you are responsible for ALL vet fees. Also, be aware we have coyotes, osprey, hawks, as any rural area does. Small animals must be suprevised. We are not responsible for acts of nature. The barn is beautiful and you are welcome to take photos, however, you are NOT permitted in the barn without supervision. Absolutley NO smoking or fire near the barn. It is over 100 years old and built by my great grand family and is irreplaceable. SPECIAL FEATURE: As I am just beginning the camp on site experience I offer several options and additional services. #1. Some find out after arriving that I teach NC Concealed Carry Handgun Classes. If you wish to participate in a class, it is preferred that you register before the day of the class. I will post classes on this site so that campers will know there will be shooting in the late afternoon. Some chose to camp on other weekends, some choose to go out to eat during those times, and some don't mind either way. #2. I am also much in favor of work for camp site. Some have asked to do clean up or other small jobs for the priviledge to camp. So far this has worked out well, with one exception. Please do not accept an offer to take on a task that you do not know how to do. Example, pulling weeds or trimming if you do not know what a weed verses flower looks like. LOL #3. There is plenty of firewood, see photos, here laying around and some trees down that will make great firewood (bring your own cutting tools.) We also sell firewood by the bundle. #4. Being a camper here gives you the privilege of fresh veggies and fruits that are in season, as well as fresh free range eggs. MAJOR POINT: You must remember this is a working farm and our duties and responsibilities for the farm come first. No! the roosters don't have an off button, neither does the jacka... donkey! When it is hay cutting time, we will cut hay. If you want to hike the property, feel free, know the boundaries and bring a machete to cut your way by the creek/stream in some areas. We have thistle trees and briars, you are welcome to cut all you wish as you go. There are spiders, bugs, and snakes etc. Black snakes, king snakes, runners, and whip snakes belong here and we ask that you do not kill them. Copperheads are here as qell and if you see one, come get me and I will dispatch it for you. .

The New Forest

4 sites · RVs, Tents82 acres · New London, NC
Located in Uwharrie National Forest, the New Forest features open meadows among stands of pine and mixed hardwoods. Campsites are far apart, each unique and offer the opportunity to commune with nature, and experience camping like it should be, emersed in nature with the opportunity to disconnect from the trappings of our modern, hectic world. This area is one of the richest archeological areas in the entire southeast United States. The location of the first real gold rush, and rich in folklore and bootlegging history, old homesteads and family graveyards are scattered among the hills. Old roadbeds and logging trails abound in the 800 acres of Uwharrrie National Forest directly adjacent to the New Forest Property making for miles of hiking opportunities, wildlife viewing, birdwatching. A 3/4 mile hike to the Taylor Family graveyard is marked with ribbons to guide you to one of the of the many family graveyards. *** A new fun feature for kids is the introduction of our dear friend Debbie Beasley"s art to the trails here in the New Forest. Scattered along the many trails are rocks painted by the one and only Debbie Beasley with cute fluorescent/3-D scenes of nature. Children can keep them as souvenirs from their New Forest camping adventure, or enjoy them while here then re-hide them for other children to find. ❤️ Come see for yourself. If you are looking for a modern, crowded campground this isn't it. However if you want a beautiful, rustic experience in nature, with a few basic amenities and with access to Uwharrie National Forest come see what others have enjoyed so much.

Mike's country home and land

11 sites · Lodging50 acres · Rock Hill, SC
Welcome to Creekside FarmCreekside Farm is a place where you can slow down and enjoy things you might not normally notice. We are glad you are Here.We invite you to sit back, take your shoes off, and breathe deeply as you read this – slowly.Creekside is very special place where you, and those important to you can unplug and gently "be" with eachother. My wife Beth and I fell in love with this property because it has a unique way of calling us out of our busy livesand into a meaningful space of connection with our senses, each other and those we care about. We hope youhave the chance to experience this on your visit. In my work as a leadership consultant and executive coach I've had the opportunity to find a few "bestpractices" for a meaningful experience of life. I offer them to you below should you want to try them out duringyour visit. I promise they will impact your time here - and your time when you leave here - tremendously:Being and DoingSometimes it’s just fine to sit down and not do anything.Experience and CaptureSometimes you don’t need to capture an experience, just experience it.Quality and QuantitySometimes quality of life is more satisfying than quantity of life. Maybe less is more.Sensing and ThinkingSometimes thinking is overrated. Sitting still and sensing what is right in front of us can be eye-opening.Silence and NoiseSometimes saying nothing says everything. Turning off the phones and devices and listening to the nature’ssounds can further awaken and resensitize us.Below you will find information about this special place. It includes invitations, requests and details about howthings work here at the farm.We invite you...1. To use your time here to nourish your Self, Spirit and Body. Walk, breathe, smell, touch, see, and taste whatyou desire.2. To put away your phones and devices and be with the people you are here with.3. To remove your shoes when in the home and feel the floor under your feet.4. To be outside whenever you can. There is goodness out there. Go anywhere you want on property, it isbordered by the creek.5. To eat slowly, talk slowly, walk slowly and just hang.

River, stream, or creek camping near Charlotte with fishing guide

Overview

Charlotte, the largest city in North Carolina, sits on the state's southern border. Expect humid temperatures in the high 80s from June to September. Spring and fall months are quite comfortable, though. Head about 45 minutes north on I-77 to reach Lake Norman State Park. Cast a line and fish for bluegill, perch, catfish and more in the titular lake. There's a swimming area around the park's south region as well. The park's Itusi Trails are particularly popular for mountain biking. If you're looking for a biking challenge, hit the demanding Laurel Loop. Nature lovers might want to swing southeast and check out the McDowell Nature Center and Preserve. This green area is on the shores of Lake Wylie. The nature preserve's McDowell Campground holds 56 campsites, including an RV park with full hookups. Camping with a large group? You can even rent the entirety of the 14-acre Copperhead Island overnight! Travel a bit east of Charlotte to find the Uwharrie National Forest. Pan for gold, hike the remote Uwharrie Trail, or fish in Badin Lake. If you own horses, don't miss the Canebrake Horse Camp. Here you can take your equine friends out on 38 miles of horse trails.
