Our campsite is perfect for individuals, couples, or large groups. Camp features a small bunk house with 4 twin sized beds, cleared forest that can accommodate up to 10 2-4 person tents, an outdoor kitchenette (full size refrigerator, granite countertips, sink, power), a fancy outhouse with running water, an outdoor shower (just a short walk from camp), and for an additional fee, an in-ground natural hot tub to soak under the stars.
You may never want to leave the forest!
Without having to drive, you'll be able to access multiple hiking trails such as Roaring Brook Nature Preserve, Sheepskin Hollow Preserve, and Hatch Lot.

We are located just 8 min from the Goodspeed Opera house located in Historic downtown East Haddam, right on the CT river. Gillette's Castle is a must see, just a 5 minute drive. Or, take a trip across the river on the Hadlyme Ferry and land in scenic Chester Village, a small but vibrant New England town known for its art scene and fine dining.
Kayaks are available to rent if you're feeling really adventurous. If you're looking to visit the ocean, you're not too far from the beautiful shores of Old Lyme, Niantic, and Old Saybrook, CT. All are just a 25 minute drive to the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.

Come stay on our working farm!
Relax and enjoy all that our farm has to offer. You can enjoy nature and privacy or opt for a more interactive experience and join our morning or evening farm tour where you can interact with goats, sheep, mini-horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, and more.
We are a small family farm where we raise animals and grow flowers/food. Our family home was built in 1739 and is situated near the street entrance.
As you enter the property, you will see two cottages, the oldest corn crib in the county, and a beautifully restored 1800s barn. There is a vintage-style camper to the left of the barn, located in an area where you can have privacy overlooking the pastures.
We live on the property and can assist guests with anything that they might need.
Guests are welcome to stroll around the property and enjoy all it has to offer. We have a farm store and education center opening summer of 2025! Check our website to see classes and offerings that you might take advantage of during your stay.
Please note, that we ask that guests do not enter the barn or fenced pasture without one of the farm owners (Molly & Diego). Our animals are accustomed to people, but livestock is unpredictable, especially to people that they do not know. There is plenty of area outside of the pasture that guests can enjoy. If you opt for a farm tour we promise that you will have plenty of interaction with our many animals.

Summers get hot in the northeast. And muggy. We’re sweating just thinking about it. When it’s mid-July and Connecticut is threatening to burst into flames, Kettletown State Park is where people go to cool off.The refreshing waters of the Housatonic River and Lake Zoar are guaranteed to lower your body temperature and restore your energy levels. The rest of the park that isn’t water is heavily wooded, providing lots of welcome shade. Shoot, you could even go for a hike and not worry about overheating. It’s the perfect summer getaway from summer, if that makes sense. Don’t think about it too much, just go.

Up, down. Up, down. Up, down…the rolling hills of Black Rock State Park would lull you to sleep in a heartbeat. That is, if your legs weren’t pumping and sweat wasn’t trickling down your face. With each crest of a wooded hilltop, the hiking gets even better, and more remote, too.Scenic views and cool waters put Black Rock high on the traveler’s list when the weekend rolls around. The western highlands of Connecticut don’t get much better than this. Ask any local—the Mattatuck Trail from the Grey section of Waterbury to the Wigwam Reservoir in Morris is one hike you don’t want to miss. At the very least, it’s a good place to start.

My family had a WONDERFUL stay at Two Herons Farm! Our baby daughter was delighted to interact with the sheep, goats, ponies, cows, chickens, guinea pigs, dogs, cat, and more!!! The farm was a great store with cool, local gifts. The cabin was really comfortable and private. The hosts, Molly and Diego, were incredibly generous and helpful. We were fortunate to tag along with Diego while he feed various animals, felt like a cool behind-the-scenes tour. We've stayed in dozens of Airbnbs/Hipcamps over the years, and this was by far our favorite. Highly recommend!!!

Weekend Trip to Two Herons Farm
We loved every moment of our stay/experience, but our favorite part was definitely doing an evening tour of the farm. Molly and Diego were fantastic hosts and so generous with their time despite their busy schedules. The animals are so comfortable around people, a true testament to the great care they are receiving. The farm store was also lovely!
I would highly recommend this to anyone who has the chance to go. I’ve already booked a second visit!
