No true trails are available, but you can be adventurous and hike further up the mountain, arriving to a clearing, providing you with a lovely mountainous view. From the mountain, you can hike to a waterfall or even hike across a lovely plain field surrounded by mountain ranges on both sides and crossing the creek over to Historic Stone houses in Hurley. Within a 10 minute drive check out some of the local restaurants like Alebrijes, Hickory BBQ & Smokehouse, and the Hurley Inn where the movie “Tootsie” was filmed!. Hurley Marbletown Trailhead and Rail trail parking are only a 6 minute drive away! The town of Kingston is about 15 minutes from our site where you will find Bluestone Wild Forest, antique shops, restaurants, other outdoor activities! The nights are just spectacular as you look into the sky surrounded by a blanket of stars, able to see the many constellations looking like jewels on a black cloth. Great location, not the most isolated spot due to it being located right off the road, but the amenities and the convenience of them are fantastic. Walking up to the river roaring is a lovely feeling, unfortunately I did not have the time to do some fishing, but I know the trout were calling my name! Have to stop by again!

Lovely place and lovely management,super helpful. Decks overseeing the river were hightlight. We wished there was availablity. Clean updated bathrooms. If you are into fishing it might be the perfect place. We werent but still enjoyed it. There is reception so u can use ur phones( i had to use for work) . No need to buy firewood etc from outside.

This campground was a total surprise wasn’t sure what to expect when I first booked it. When I first reached out to them they couldn’t have been nicer. Showed up and everything seemed to be very well kept. New water and electric the decking was a nice touch with the gravel. The bathrooms are very well kept and clean, the owner just seemed like they couldn’t do enough for you. The campsite rest on the beautiful river full of trout. I will be returning for sure, very please.

The Afran are cute. They’re in the very back of the resort. The place is very clean the hotel on the property has a breakfast nook where you check in and a bar and grill. There is a sauna. There is a big pool and there is an exercise center. The area is very sparse so if you are looking to go shopping or do anything besides outdoor activities like hunting fishing hiking or seeing Bethel Woods, you won’t have much to do. And lots of parts of the drive there is very little cellular and no Wi-Fi or cellular. I recommend packing books in board games hotel provides s’mores and light fires every night. Very nice trip.

The ground is soft for a tent, but you have to choose your location we’ll. because there are rocks underneathThe host answered my questions through the app which I wasn’t used to (first time hip camper) but it all worked out. Plenty of good firewood, but it was kind of pricey. All in all a great experience and place to stay. Btw- neighbors have a rooster:)

Wahl Dairy Farm has been a family run and owned small farm since 1921 when August Wahl moved their family to Callicoon. August was a butcher by trade, and the farm started as a family homestead, raising their own chickens and cows with the help of a few horses and of course August's father who was very handy and could make axe handles and wooden wheel spokes. The Wahl homestead became Wahl Dairy Farm in the 1940s when August started selling milk, two or four cans at a time, to the creamery. August's son, Vernon, took over the business and built it up; at one point about 100 cows were being milked! Vernon's son Ross took over the farm in 1995 and diversified it. Ross regularly raises chickens and pigs and grows pumpkins, in addition to the 40 or so milking cows currently on the farm (there are also calves and heifers). The farm is about 200 acres in total, including 15 acres of woods, 15 acres of "hunting" land (deer and rabbits roam free in the scrub), and close to 150 acres in production with pasture and hay. We never feed corn silage! We believe the corn gives the milk a more sour taste (you are what you eat!). We're proud that we've always been in grassland and committed to raising a mostly grass fed dairy herd, a quality not found in many diary farms today. We're excited to share this place with you! In addition there is excellent cell phone service on the farm! Great for digital nomads and everyone who needs to stay connected. The site is the second highest point in Sullivan County.
