IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed. We generally close for the season due to cold weather around Halloween and reopen just before Memorial Day. This is a non-smoking, no candle facility.

Looking for the perfect way to end your Hipcamp vacation? How about some true high desert GLAMPING!!!! Come enjoy a serene and restful vacation at a truly unique space. A straw bale hogan surrounded by a beautiful terraced garden with seating areas, water feature, and 360 degree views of desert and mountain ranges from its roof. The land in this part of New Mexico was part of the Madrid (family) Spanish Land Grant. It is the location of the oldest turquoise mines in North and South America. Plus one of the oldest gold mines in North America. The neighboring towns are close by and quite famous and filled with things to do. History abounds here and I am happy to tell the tales! There are several restaurants to find a great meal and musical entertainment. Believe it or not, there is a lot of talent in them thar hills! Hiking, biking and horseback riding are available in the Cerrillos Hills Park just a mile away. There's even a nice arroyo trail to take you to the Galisteo River riparian area just feet from the hogan door. We even have a horse barn, round pen and a couple acres of fenced desert. We just said farewell to our last horse who was 30 years old, so we also offer room for your horses if you are traveling with them. A $25 per horse fee will be charged per day. Bring your own feed, please. The property includes a round 350 square foot straw bale structure with a queen size bed, reading nook (which can also suffice for a second (twin sized) bed for a 3rd person). There is A/C and an electric 'wood stove' for heat. The kitchen includes instant hot water and everything to prepare a meal (you bring the food). Amazing 360 degree views from the rooftop include the Sangre de Cristo, Sandia and Jemez Mountain ranges. The outhouse is fully equipped (even heated in the winter months), super clean and just 25 feet from the door. We allow dogs (please let me know how many when making a reservation) and have room for tents and motorhomes. Soon to come next Spring is a Boho chic horse trailer!

The land in this part of New Mexico was part of the Madrid (family) Spanish Land Grant. It is the location of the oldest turquoise mines in North and South America. Plus one of the oldest gold mines in North America. The neighboring towns are close by and quite famous and filled with things to do. History abounds here and I am happy to tell the tales! There are several restaurants to find a great meal and musical entertainment. Believe it or not, there is a lot of talent in them thar hills! Hiking, biking and horseback riding are available in the Cerrillos Hills Park just a mile away. There's even a nice arroyo trail to take you to the Galisteo River riparian area just feet from the hogan door. We even have a horse barn, round pen and a couple acres of fenced desert. We just said farewell to our last horse who was 30 years old, so we also offer room for your horses if you are traveling with them. A $25 per horse fee will be charged per day. Bring your own feed, please. The property includes a round 350 square foot straw bale structure with a queen size bed, reading nook (which can also suffice for a second (twin sized) bed for a 3rd person). There is A/C and an electric 'wood stove' for heat. The kitchen includes instant hot water and everything to prepare a meal (you bring the food). Amazing 360 degree views from the rooftop include the Sangre de Cristo, Sandia and Jemez Mountain ranges. The outhouse is fully equipped (even heated in the winter months), super clean and just 25 feet from the door. I can't recommend this site enough. We are still talking about it days later. The host was so welcoming, gave us a little tour, and told us information about the land and surrounding area. This place is an amazing vibe and experience with so many thoughtful details. It's comfortable, fun, there were interesting reading materials, everything to make coffee, a sink space setup, a heater, a spot to charge your phones, even a large mirror. A group of people could stay here comfortably as the space is setup with multiple sleeping areas. I also appreciated the little twinkle lights in the outhouse. There were solar lights around the area to light the way on arrival and we enjoyed the gorgeous dark sky and saw some meteor showers. We (and our pack) had such a comfortable stay here and it's clear the host puts a lot of love and care into it. If I'm ever in the area again, I would stay here in a heartbeat.

Very cute little place. Nice private location, but easy to find. Pat is very kind. There were a few things in the Silo that didn't work upon arrival. Pat brought in the maintenance man, but was unable to fix them during our stay. Thanks for putting in the effort. The bed is very firm but we found it very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen and linens situation. Porches are really nice for enjoying the views. We would definitely stay here again.

It was chilly in late October, so Kate set me up with lots of thick blankets and I stayed very warm! Kate is open and welcoming but also gave me my privacy. Great stay!

My stay at the year on the Mesa top totally exceeded my expectations. Kate was there to greet me and show me around and really has put many magical touches on the place. There was everything I need to cook, do dishes, even take an outdoor shower. I came in late fall, and while it was cold at night, the propane heater was toasty. And the bedding was amazing, so I didn’t even need the heater when I slept. The views and the stars and the location are unparalled. I would definitely come back!

Our concern about a gas smell turned out to be an unlit pilot light on the stove, and that was easily remedied. We also wondered if a silo would be drafty--but it wasn't. We loved this intentional and creative spot! The treehouse is roomy and all the beds were comfortable- my kids loved the hanging bunks. It was a fun change from all the tent camping we were doing on our road trip through New Mexico and we appreciated the bathhouse and kitchen spaces. It’s a beautiful and serene area and Ciana was wonderfully welcoming and helpful with getting us settled in. We definitely recommended the treehouse!

We are excited to share our little A-frame cabin in the woods! The cabin is quite rustic ( and quite cute). Think of it like glamping -- outhouse, wood burning stove, dirt roads, and beautiful trees and mountains included. ** To keep the cabin affordable, all guests are responsible for cleaning up the cabin at the end of the stay and making it ready for the next guest. There's even a nice arroyo trail to take you to the Galisteo River riparian area just feet from the hogan door. We even have a horse barn, round pen and a couple acres of fenced desert. We just said farewell to our last horse who was 30 years old, so we also offer room for your horses if you are traveling with them. A $25 per horse fee will be charged per day. Bring your own feed, please. The property includes a round 350 square foot straw bale structure with a queen size bed, reading nook (which can also suffice for a second (twin sized) bed for a 3rd person). There is A/C and an electric 'wood stove' for heat. The kitchen includes instant hot water and everything to prepare a meal (you bring the food). Amazing 360 degree views from the rooftop include the Sangre de Cristo, Sandia and Jemez Mountain ranges. The outhouse is fully equipped (even heated in the winter months), super clean and just 25 feet from the door. We allow dogs (please let me know how many when making a reservation) and have room for tents and motorhomes. Soon to come next Spring is a Boho chic horse trailer!

We are excited to share our little A-frame cabin in the woods! The cabin is quite rustic ( and quite cute). Think of it like glamping -- outhouse, wood burning stove, dirt roads, and beautiful trees and mountains included. ** To keep the cabin affordable, all guests are responsible for cleaning up the cabin at the end of the stay and making it ready for the next guest. There are no cleaners coming in after you. ** The cabin is a 432 square foot A-frame in a small mountain community, which is surrounded by the Jemez National Forest. There are a few places to hike right from the front door, and many, many trailheads within a 20 minute drive. Fenton Lake is a short drive away, and the San Antonio Hot Springs is a 2.5 mile hike, bike, or ski away right out the front door for the confident adventurer. Located 1.5 hours from Albuquerque and Santa Fe, a few miles off of NM-4 between the town of Jemez Springs and the Valles Caldera National Preserve. No outdoor fires in the fire pit are permitted at this time. WATER HAS BEEN SHUT OFF FOR THE SEASON - YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN WATER.
